How Dogs Are Chosen Usually dogs are found in Shelters, private
homes, and adoption agencies.
They begin training between the ages 12- 14 months.
Any gender dog can be chosen. Females are almost always sprayed because of heat cycles and medical
benefits Males are neutered for medical and behavioral
reasons. Dogs retire around 10 years of age.

What Departments The Dogs Are Trained For
• Dogs that are highly effective in detecting specific odors as well as acting as a deterrent to crime.
• Include: Marijuana, Hashish, Powder Cocaine, Crack, Methamphetamine, Ecstasy. Heroin, LSD.
