A little historyPolyprodukter is Scandinavia's leading manufacturer of cordage. Testing and deve-loping new materials in new combinations allows us to give boat owners, the world over, equipment that is becoming stronger and more durable. From the racing-elite’s demands for extreme performance - to small boat owners, who require reliable ropes for every weather condition – and at a reasona-ble price. Do not look only at statistical data on the tensile strength and dimensions, our lines often have features that are not visible on the outside. We call it the inner life of the rope, the rope intelligence.

A beloved child has many names…. If any fibre should win the prize “best line for mo-ney” – it’s polyester. This is the rope-makers work-horse No.1 and the world’s most used line. Polyester has excellent resistance to ultraviolet light. It is strong, has little stretch and yet even less if it is pre-stretched in manufacture.

Stronger than steel!HMPE – High Modulus Polyethylene - is the collective name for the group of fibres to which ‘Dyneema’ belongs. The material is characterized by its light weight, high breaking strength and low stretch capabilities. A 10mm braided rope made 100% of this fibre has a breaking strength of 11.000 kgs! Even under the toughest racing conditions, this type of force would never occur! Traction in a genoa sheet on a 33-footer is rarely over 500 kgs. We, at Polyropes, usually use expensive Dyneema as a core, and over-braid with one or more layers of durable polyester. Everything depends on what “intelligence” the boat owner wants to have on their sheets and halyards. Now, many large boat owners replace previously used wire with this product.

MooringAll rope used on permanent mooring must have a high tensile strength and be resistant to abrasion, pull and sunlight. For permanent mooring material, long fibre ropes made of polyester or polyamide should be used. e.g. our Polyester Superior.

Cordage

Care InstructionsCheck your lines often. Be aware that every knot or friction point

may be a weak point. Whip all the rope at the ends. Post season - ropes should be washed in fresh water with a mild detergent and hung

up in a dry place. Leave all halyards and ropes in for service in the Autumn; this is when the rigger or shop has the most time to complete the task.

Soft and safe mooring with a mooring springModern materials cannot withstand sudden pull or jerk very well - therefore always include a mooring spring. There are good models in EDPM-rubber: e.g.

Forsheda, and also steel: e.g. Mooring Star (these do not squeak.) With both types you can also choose a more rigid line – e.g. for sheets and halyards.

Just remember to protect your ropes against abrasion (we have a pro-duct which offers good protection for exposed locations) Size your fixed

moorings, allowing a good margin. A knot weakens the rope by up to 50% and abrasion does not improve matters. Splice ropes in a

professional manner - a splicing movie and written instructions are available from our website.

B73 RACING 6006 An improved variation of Racing 5005. A rope for top-level sailing. The difference is in the core! Composed of 12 plait Vectran HS-fibre, Racing 6006 has the same wear and tear and heat protection as its predecessor. Comprising 75% Kevlar and 25% polyester cover. B73 RACING 5005 For the very demanding situations faced by top level sailors Polyropes has continued the development and has improved the earlier Dyneemic Racing 2002. The difference now is that the outer cover is a blend of polyester and Kevlar, with a Dyneema SK75 12 plait core (polyurethane treated). With this construction we have increased wear resistance, as the demands placed upon sheet covers are sometimes subjected to enormous heat. The cover consists of 75% Kevlar and 25% polyester. A loading of 20% of breaking strength will give approx. 1% elongation.

RACING 2002 and 3003 Both are distinguished braided ropes. Optimal allocation of Dyneema and polyester provides economy and performance and designed for heavy use in the loaders. Braided under a 3 layer principal, the centre core is 100% Dyneema fibre. The mid layer is of spun polyester - to avoid friction. The outer cover is of hard-wearing polyester. For minimum elongation on main sheets and halyards and spinnaker sails. Used also as a resilient halyard (for example on the mainsheet) and for maintaining low weight required for the forwarder on the genoa and spinnaker.

B76 RACING D100 The Dinghy sailor’s favourite! Extremely light! A 12 plait braided line in 100% Dyneema SK75 fibre which is not over-braided with any other material. Pre-stretched. Surface treatment with dyed poly-urethane increases the already very good wear resistance and manageability. Floats, does not absorb water. Easy to splice. Very low stretch: approx 1% with 20% of breaking load.

POLY-BRAID 32 A superb halyard! This line has a unique, twisted core – laid almost parallel, and has a 32 plait cover. The innovation of the core provides a low stretch comparable with Dyneema based ropes, and at a great price! In combination with flexibility and the properties of this rope, we can confidently re-commend Poly-Braid 32 for halyards. The rope replaces the traditional steel wire inside the mast and can also be used for the main haul, jib halyard, boom lifts, downhauls, guy ropes and jib. A loading of 20% of breaking strength will give approx. 2% elongation.

Essential when the line must pass through several blocks, as with mainsheets, without twisting. Perfect for hauling and trimming of the boats sails. A superb halyard! This line has a unique, twisted core – laid almost parallel, and has a 32 plait cover. The innovation of the core provides a low stretch comparable with Dyneema based ropes, and at a great price! In combination with flexibility and the properties of this rope, we can confidently recommend Poly-Braid 32 for halyards. The rope replaces the traditional steel wire inside the mast and can also be used for the main haul, jib halyard, boom lifts, downhauls, guy ropes and jib. A loading of 20% of breaking strength will give approx. 2% elongation.

The construction gives maximum

rigidity of shape, and smoothness.

Essential when the line must pass

through several blocks, as with

mainsheets, without twisting. Perfect for

hauling and trimming of the boats sails.

The rope is also excellent for Kick Blocks,

outhauls or backstay adjusters. For

smaller boats you can use this line for

every thing but mooring. A loading of

The line can withstand heavy strain, thanks to the elastic inner core of polyamide. As protection against radiation, we added an outer cover of durable polyester. Has a lovely weight - comfortable to hold and pull in – and moor with. Available in: Black, White, Silver, Navy Blue, Green and Red.

SUPERIOR MOORINGSUPERIOR MOORING is the classic mooring line of poly-ester. Supplied in lengths of 6 or 10 metres and with a 40 cm eye, which is enough for most bollards and cleats. Relia-ble jerk resistance, and with tensile strengths from 2000 to 20.000 kgs. A 3-strand rope, making it easy to splice. Easy to shoot up on deck, hank up for storage or hang on a cleat.

POLY-BRAID 32POLY-BRAID 32 is the line to set sail with! Very rigid, with a 3-strand low stretch core in a 32-braided polyester sheath. DOCKLINE ANCHORINGThe ultimate anchor line when crossing swords with the bad weather! Durable outer sheath of polyester is easy to grip and makes it difficult for seaweed and jellyfish to get a hold. Elastic inner core can withstand heavy strain – tensile strength up to 12.000kgs as standard. Ready spliced with a stainless steel thimble included in the package and all delive-red in a practical transport box. UV-protection provides many years of use, even in sunnier climes. Of course, they sink in the water. Aesthetic color match – together with mooring line, Dockline Mooring.

FLEXLINEDouble braided special construction. White inner core which is a composite of polyester and PP. The cover is made of 100% UV-protected polyester. The rope is soft and durable. Sinks in water.

In the SMARTPACK-system we suggest white lines with yellow, blue, green or red markers – but you can also select “options” which means solid colour lines in green, yellow, grey and red. Thus a total of 8 colors.

TRIMGRIPThe optimum sheet and trim line, with super grip. Made from a combination of Dyneema SK-75 and very special grip-friendly fibre in the outer sheat. The rope becomes compact and form stable through a combination of Dyneema and polypropylene in the core. Floats in water. Extremely light.

POLYESTERLINEA strong and flexible multi-line. Made of braided polyester, with high UV-resistance and high abrasion resistance. Sinks in water.

ANCHOR LINE WITH LEADWhite, 16plt braided anchor line of polyester, specially adap-ted to anchor winches. Double braided construction. Centre core consists of encapsulated flexible lead pearls. ROPE-SAvER ExclusiveAfter several years of testing with different types of materials to protect the chafing effect on exclusive ropes, we have finally settled with “ROPE-SAVER Exclusive” - a wear protection for exposed areas. Very easy to fit on all types of ropes up to 26mm and also suitable for anchor webbings with widths up to 35mm. The pro-duct can be placed within the spliced eye, or on a rope which goes over a sharp edge or on a line as protec-tion against a bridge loop. But more than this – when you trailer the boat, put a ROPE-SAVER on the winch webbing that goes over the deck edge, and you will see that the boat is fixed perfectly. Add durable protection of your chain or collect cables from your outboard motor. The possible uses for this product seem endless! On-board or on land!ROPE-SAVER Exclusive is manufactured in an extremely smooth polyester. Sealed with a special durable and twist-resistant zipper. When you want to lock the rope-saver onto the line, then you tighten the Velcro straps at the end of the Rope-Saver (not always needed because normally the rope needs to slide within the product)

ANChOR-BAGThe ANCHOR-BAG now has a lid that locks with 2 webbings on the front. There is also a shoulder strap if you want to carry your things on land. Inside the bag there is also webbing that makes the bag to keep its shape even when it is crammed, and this ensures that the cover really protects the contents. Drain holes in the bag bottom. Anchor-bag is made of sturdy PVC and the webbing in UV-resistant polyester. The bag can be hung on the pulpit or elsewhere.
