PROMYDE® PRODUCT OVERVIEWUNREINFORCED PA6

Unreinforced Promyde® is produced in NUREL’s polymerization process in which unique additivation packages and polymer chain modifications are made combining cost effectiveness and differential properties.

Customers receive Promyde unreinforced polyamide 6 in its purest state. Promyde unreinforced products are melted for the first time in our customer’s injection moulding machines. Hence, optimizing processing and performance.

Parts requiring long term thermal protection would benefit from this new PA6 development. Our new Promyde® HSA series maintains its properties even at High Temperature environments such as car engines.

Hi-performance at Hi-temperatureFor applications with temperatures of continuous use up to 185ºC, Promyde HSA grades maintain their mechanical properties with small variations after ageing.

HSA features can be applied to any Promyde product from 10 up to 60% fiber content.

Nano Clay Fortified Polyamide 6We take special clay and exfoliate it in nano size particles which are then chemically bonded to the polymer matrix.

Nano Clay benefits

• B30 NC 100 is 17% lighter than 30% mineral filled and glass bead filled PA

• Mechanical performance is maintained against PA6 & PA66 compounds

• Besides these benefits, Nano Clay has light blocking properties

New Developments With Natural FibersThe NEW natural fiber-reinforced Promyde range offers PA compounds with a considerable weight reduction, superior thermal resistance and a renewable content from 15 to 30%.

WEIGHT REDUCTIONPROMYDE® SPECIALITIES

Lightweight materials have always been an important topic in product design across several industries.

The concept has been most important in aviation and automotive as a strategy to significantly reduce fuel consumption, CO2 emissions and to enhance dynamic performance.

NUREL offers three different solutions on its weight reduction portfolio:

Promyde® Reinforced SolutionsGlass Fibers & Glass Beads 10% Reduced Density in Glass Filled PA6

B30 P2 G25 WR is our new proposal for weight reduction where conventional PA with 25-30%GF can be substituted for a lighter weight alternative.

IMPROVED TRANSPARENCYPROMYDE® SPECIALITIES

Responding to Modern Consumer TendenciesIn touch with current market trends via other activities within the SAMCA Group, such as ceramic sciences, and conductive technologies, we can modify polymer crystallisation capabilities and also conductive properties to respond to specific modern requirements.

Improved Transparency Recent market requests, asking for transparent polyamides, have coincided with NUREL’s continued development program.

Promyde B930 P and B730 P are available upon request for applications where extra transparency is desired over conventional Polyamide 6 applications. Both are a semi-crystalline copolyamides. B930 P is only recommended for applications under 60ºC and up to 2 mm thick, whereas B730 P is recommended for thicker parts under 80ºC.

Main applications include:• Automotive applications can be used for decorative

surfaces and liquid level indicators• Window and inspection glasses, flow meters• Ink cartridges for printers

Conductive Compounds Adjustable to your Needs In response to a growing demand in the electrical, electronic and automotive sectors, where weight limitation and design requirements are becoming stronger, NUREL works in the development of new materials with controlled thermal and electrical properties.

Thanks to our extensive knowledge in polymerization as well as in nanotechnology, we have been able to increase the electrical and thermal conductivity of PA6.

Electrical conductivity

Currently we can offer PA6 polymers with wide range of electrical conductivity, from antistatic grades to highly conductive grades (from 10 to 1012 Ohm).

Electrical conductive compounds are used for applications such as electrostatic painting parts, very fine electronic parts or electrostatic surfaces for medical applications.

Thermal conductivity

NUREL offers the possibility of adding heat-conducting properties to our polymers to help dissipate the heat caused by electrical and electronic circuits. Our new range of Promyde PA6 compounds can reach values of thermal conductivity of between 2 to 10 W / mK, offering a wide range of products for black or also for coloured parts.

Thermo-conductive plastics can also obtain a considerable reduction of weight thanks to the substitution of metallic pieces. Thermo-conductive materials are mainly used for heat sinks in electric motors, circuits or lamps.
