JCU at Vatican City Fall Semester This study abroad program offers students the opportunity to live in Rome and attend school in Vatican City while earning John Carroll University credits. Students are able to take up to 18 credit hours at the Pontificia Università Urbaniana, to fulfill the requirements of the new and old JCU academic cores. Courses Offered (3 cr. each): AH 431: Sixteenth Century Art in Rome: Mannerism to Counter Reformation HS 296: Century of Italian History (1870-1992) TRS 321: History of the Papacy IC 163: Women in Italian Society through Literature and Film PL 285: African Philosophy PL 230: Christian Thinkers PL 302: Introduction to Ethics All Levels of Italian Internships While Abroad The Bishop Pilla Program gives the opportunity to participate in internships while abroad. Students from all different disciplines will be able to work for a local firm, gaining new skills and important on-the-job experience. Internships are Currently Offered with: S.A.L. Urbaniana University We the Italians Palazzo Doria Pamphilj (Art History) Service Opportunities While Abroad Another great way for students to immerse themselves in Italian culture is to engage in weekly service. This will allow students to have a more in-depth understanding of the city and its culture. Service Partners Include: S.A.L. Working with Don Roberto Cherubini, Director of the Office for External Relations, I developed experience in social media and integrated marketing.
