August has arrived and we know what that means… that’s right, all these kiddos go back to school. YEA! Wait a minute, there was something else in August, oh ya; come see us at the Champaign (4th – 11th) and Miami (11th – 17th) County Fairs. We will have units on display and love to see you guys there. Okay, there was one more thing happening in August, I can’t believe I forgot this; the Ohio State Coachmen Rally is August 18th – 20th. Get signed up for this fun event. We will have to pick up the slack a little since Hedda won’t be there, that mannequin was quite the party animal. The rally is always a
blast, with good family-fun games to play and scrumptious food to eat. Well, I guess that’s about it for August; other than the sweetest, fastest, high-speed, low-drag golf carts you will ever have the pleasure of witnessing with your very own naked eyes. That’s right folks, The Debby Mitchell Memorial is upon us, and there are racers all over the country getting their buggies ready. Whether they’re shining and accessorizing for the Show-N-Shine or supping up their motors for the Drag Races; I can assure you, it will be entertaining. Let’s see if anyone has a cart that can rival Steve and Rick’s gas outlaw. These two speed demons have

been racing together since Rick cut Steve off at the chow line in High School. I can’t go into the technical jargon of what it takes to make that candy colored cart cruise so quickly; let’s just say I have been behind the wheel and as soon as I hit the gas it caused me to become more focused and exceedingly religious at the same time. The Rodeo will be here quick, so get your boot scootin’ buggy buddies on the horn, tell them to get their gear loaded and head out to Poor Farmer’s. Early registration will be Friday night. There will be vendors open Saturday for lunch and possibly dinner. Trophies will be awarded at the end of the day’s events.

The Fletcher Volunteer Fire Department conducted some training at Poor Farmer’s on Tuesday evening July 25th. It was interesting to watch them practice different ways to extract a victim from a crashed car. As a bonus, we were able to see the JSP Emergency Squad and Kettering Med flight helicopter fly in to practice an emergency transport for a severally injured person. Poor Farmer’s would like to show all the members of the Fletcher Fire Department that we appreciate what it is they do. So, we invited them out for a weekend of camping. Stop by the Springhouse shelter on August 5th to thank them for all they do.
Site of the Month
Come see us at the Fairs! Champaign County
August 4th – 11th
August 11th – 17th
They were clocked going 8.5!
…if only
Congratulations Ed & Char on being awarded Site of the Month. I know what you’re thinking… “Oh look, they bought a Coachmen from Poor Farmer’s and now they get Site of the Month” If you think this is how I operate, go ahead and buy a camper from us and see for yourself. Ed has worked very diligently to get his site in order. He has manicured the landscape and put a fresh coat of paint on his new platform. Almost as good as Char’s place can manicure and paint your fingernails. Thanks for creating such a beautiful campsite Ed and Char.
Enjoy the free dumps during August!
Training for the Fire Department
Jayden got to wear the pilots helmet, but when he asked to fly the chopper... crickets.

Tony & Cherrie hit a home run with their crafty cardboard cars.
Jennifer the Balloon Artist was out of this world with talent.
The kids loved the Fire Department demonstration.
All the balloons went up. Andrea and Jacob’s balloons were found near the
parking lot of the Fairfield Common Mall.
The cars came in handy at the drive-in movie. Can you guess what was playing?
… Even more handy for others.

2017 Buckeye Woodcarver’s Round-Up
Cornhole Tournament

Jim and Barb Foster hosted another successful Round-Up for the Buckeye Wood Carvers. There was a multitude of talent present; some were here to learn and some were here to teach. Despite some rain and wind… and a slight 2 hour power outage, the carvers managed to keep slicin’ and dicin’ till the block of wood they started with was transformed into a little wooden boy just waiting to become real. Thanks again to the Fosters, Guillozets, and the rest of the Buckeye Woodcarvers for a great show.

The Restrooms got a facelift After years of trying different paints, epoxies, resins, and finally attempting to line the floor with the tears of all who attempted to dry their hands with those God-Awful hand dryers that lost their wind somewhere back in the early 90’s…. we have made some long-lasting improvements to our shower house. Can you say, EXLERATOR!? (Yes, that’s how it’s spelled, I checked.) As you enter the restroom, you will notice the new floors installed by “My Guerrilla Garage”. These are the reason you had to get all your hanging clothes out of the shower for a night or two… or be a dirty butt. I think it was well worth it either way. Thank you for your patience while we make these improvements. Sometimes it takes a little trial and error before you find the right way. I just really wish that epoxy would have worked better.
