Colour schemeWhat the magazine producer would need to concider when picking a colour scheme is the tearget audience and whether the specific magazine is aimed towards males or females. Once they have made this decision the gender would be made clear on the front cover

This magazine is female as it has a lot of pink which is a stereotypical female colour.

This magazine is more mascalin as its centre image is a popular boy band and focuses on neutral and more male colours.

Every magazine needs to have a contents page to tell the reader what's inside the magazine and where to find it. This page must also stick to colour scheme as does every page in the magazine.

Page NumbersThe contents page will include a variety of page numbers. This is so the reader finds it easy to find the stories and certain pages they are looking for.

For example this is on the contents page of the top of the pops magazine.

Sub-headingsA contents page should usually contain sub headings next to the page numbers. This is to give a clear idea of what is inside and makes it easy to navigate.

Colloquial languageThis is found on most pop magazines, to suit the target audience. It would usually suit a younger audience.

Bold fontsThe main features of the contents page are usually bold, or sometimes different colours to make it stand out. This is also used in sub headings and cover lines to indicate what the story is about.

Double page spread will feature a famous celebrity which may have been the main focus on the front cover.

The title must stand out on the page to show the reader what they will be reading about and the main image must be big and clear so they know who its about without actually stating in a heading.

Each double page spread should feature an artist that is the same genre as the magazine. It should also feature a story or interview with them or question and answers.
