From Father Zach
With Christmas just over a week away we may have forgotten that we are
preparing for the coming of Christ. This weekend we mark the halfway point of
Advent and we turn our focus from the second coming of Christ to His first
coming and what that meant for the world. Christmas changed the world for all
eternity because it mark’s the point in time when God walked among us. This
weekend let’s focus on Christ and rejoice in how much our God loves us.
It’s our charitable giving that helps us keep in the focus of living out the Gospel
message. Our charity can come in many different forms from volunteering to
giving to a charity. It doesn’t matter about how much time or money we give,
what matters is why we are giving. We give to help others to have a little
brighter day. We give thanks for everyone who have given to the Christmas
sharing at both parishes. The combined efforts have allowed us to give to over
600 families and children in need in our community. Pope John’s have supported
over 200 families and Christ the King have supported over 400 families. Thank
you for all your efforts in our Christmas sharing this year.
Also, we give thanks for reaching our Hope Appeal goal. Pope John XXIII
achieved their goal with 297 donors out of a possible 1006 donors: Pope John’s
goal was $54, 296 and they raised $55, 091. Christ the King reached their goal
with 239 donors out of a possible 793 donors: Christ the King’s goal was
$36, 500 and they raised $36, 600. Thank you to everyone who made it possible
to reach our Hope Appeal goals and this allows us as a Church to reach and help
those outside of our communities. This also allows the parishes to apply for
grants in the upcoming year.

Advent Giving is approaching, students are asked to br ing in Christmas
themed paper products, paper plates, cups, napkins etc. along with Christmas
candies to distribute to our Food Pantry clients and families to add some holiday
cheer to the Food Pantry Baskets. Thank You!

Parish Administrative Assistant for Pope John XXIII
(20 - 25 hrs Weekly)
The Parish Administrative Assistant is the main point of “first contact” and vital to
the mission of Pope John XXIII. The individual strives to keep the integrity of the
parish office a place that is warm and welcoming to all who visit the office and
must be a self-starter and possess a strong work ethic. The position provides
administrative support to the Pastor, Pastoral Associate, Business Administrator,
Faith Formation Coordinators, and other staff and ministry leaders as needed.
Support includes: filing, report generation, presentation creation, research,
meeting set up, Sacramental Records, Liturgical binders, keeping track of Monthly
Parish Calendar and also Sacraments for the year (Weddings, Funerals, Baptism,
Confirmation, Communion, RCIA). To perform this job successfully, an
individual must be able to perform the following: excellent interpersonal and
customer service skills including maintaining polite and professional
communication via phone, e-mail; and in face-to-face meetings, high level of
attention to detail, proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Power Point, Publisher,
Excel) proficient in using Digital Google platform( calendar, email, drive, etc.).

Weather Cancellation Policy for Christ the King / Pope John XXIIII
Just a reminder that winter is here! The cancellation policy for the parishes
is as follows. If Liverpool Schools are closed or dismissed early then all
parish activities are cancelled for the day. (meetings, devotions, prayer
groups, adoration, music lessons, faith formation, confessions etc.) Daily
Mass will still take place unless noted on local Television. As always
we ask people to use wise judgement in inclement weather.
If you think the roads aren’t safe then stay home.
