The designer’s work is a way of life, which is constantly growing from everything around him. It’s an activity that allows you to create “something” from an experience, a memory, an image or a sound. A sensible work, where the slightest detail generates the greatest result.

I studied Product Design at IED, Istituto Europeo di Design in Madrid where I learned the basis of what I believe. I worked for a few months as an intern in Wanda Barcelona.

Back in Madrid I did the Master “European Design Labs”, directed by Jaime Hayon. Traveling around Europe, I learned about the innovative design and how to transform an idea into a concept and then in an product.

I belive that esthetics and functionality and crtical point of view must be convined to create innovative concepts and products. Materials like bones, feathers and chemical components... have always intrigued me. I think they have great potencial in the design world and deserve to be explored. On the other hand, processes based on craftmanship and adapted to the new times to create cuality solutions, I also believe in small series of objects with own personality, in unique pieces, in natural materials and local production.

Ser diseñador es una forma de vida, en la que constantemente se está nutriendo de todo lo que le rodea. Es una actividad que permite crear “algo” a partir de una experiencia, un recuerdo, una imagen o un sonido. Una labor sensible, en donde el detalle más mínimo genera lo más grandioso.

Estudie Diseño de Producto en el IED, Istituto Europeo di Design en Madrid, España donde aprendi las bases de lo que creo. Realice practicas en Wanda Barcelona.

De vuelta en Madrid realice el Master “European Design Labs” dirigido por Jaime Hayon. Viajando por distintas ciudades europeas aprendi acerca del diseño de vanguardia y como transformar una idea en un concepto y posteriormente en un producto.

Creo fielmente, que la estética, la funcionalidad y un punto critico de vista deben complementarse para crear conceptos y productos innovadores. Materiales como huesos, plumas y componentes quimicos, siempre me han intrigado y creo que tiene gran potencial en el mundo del diseño y merecen ser explorados. Por otro lado, en los procesos artesanales adaptados a los nuevos tiempos para crear soluciones de calidad, en las pequeñas series de objetos, piezas unicas con materiales y producción local producción..

Concerned by handmade production pieces I decided to transfer the chemical reaction process of the copper sulphate to produce unique objects, where each piece responds to different variables such as temperature, chemical supersaturation, light and time.

Tellus is a rug made from wasted wood of the industry.Each trunk is cut into slices of different sizes. The origin of wood is eco-certified forests.

Tellus es una alfombra de madera hecha a base de desechos de la industria.Los troncos son cortados en rebanadas de diferente tamaño.La madera es de procedencia de bosques con certificación ecologica.

Ceiling lamp made out of smoked cork, adjustable height and ambient light.

The bulb heats the cork which gives off a slight smoke smell.

Lámpara de techo hecha en corcho negro ahumado, de altura regulable y luz ambiente.

La bombilla calienta el corcho desprendiendo un ligero aroma a ahumado.

Although at first sight it might seem only a decorative piece “tum ...” is an object with which the user can interact to produce different sounds. By covering all holes with corks ... knocking on one with the hand, tapping on the surface, modulating the sound with the palm. The only limit is our imagination.

Moreover, the pieces may be joined together to create a symphony of sounds.

Aunque a primera vista pudiera parecer únicamente una pieza decorativa “tum...” es un objeto con el que el usuario puede interactuar para generar diferentes sonidos. Tapando todos los agujeros con corchos... golpeando en uno de ellos con la mano, dando golpesitos en su superficie, modulando el sonido con la palma. El único límite nos lo debe poner nuestra imaginación. Además, las piezas pueden unirse entre si para crear una sinfonía de sonidos.

Use the “sombrero vueltiao hat” [tipical colombian craft piece] as inspiration for a new object in ceramic

Transfer the hat’s texture into the ceramic, keeping the identity of the original object, but, descontextualized in a new element

Utilizar al “sombrero vueltiao” [pieza tipica colombiana] como inspiración para un nuevo objeto en cerámica.

Traspazar el patron del textil a la ceramica, manteniendo la identidad del objeto inicial pero descontextualizado en un nuevo elemento.
