The Garden Route, a spectacular stretch along the south-eastern coast of South Africa,

gets its name from the lush vegetation that can be found in the area. It is a breath-

mountains and lagoons packed into the area.

17 MAY 2018 JOHANNESBURG

On arrival you will be met by a Toerboer representative who will transfer you to your guesthouse. After check in you

will have some free time before meeting with your guide to discuss the itinerary and general information for the tour.

18, 19 & 20 MAY ADDO ELEPHANT NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast you will transfer to the airport for your flight to Port Elizabeth Airport and be met by your TOERBOER

Guide that ill a o pa y you o this o derful trip through South Afri a’s Garde Route. You ill tra el +/- 105k ’s to Nyati Rest Camp in Addo Elephant National Park.

Nestled at the foot of the majestic Zuurberg Mountain range and

surrounded by hills, Nyathi Rest Camp is the new, exclusive, self-

catering addition to the accommodation offering at Addo Elephant

National Park. The name of the camp means buffalo, which is

something you are sure to see. The seasonal river flowing just

beneath the camp brings relief to many animals that are found in this

section, be on the lookout for baboons, kudu, warthog and the main

star, elephants. As Addo Elephant National Park is home to the 'Big

7', you will partake in a Marine Eco-tour in order to catch a glimpse

of a great white shark and/or southern right whale.

OPTIONAL ACTIVITIES Horse Riding @ R510, 00pp Morning and afternoon rides are two hours long and take place in

the Nyathi area, home to the Big Five. The behaviour of certain Big

Five species are monitored in this area and if necessary, trails will be

moved to a botanical reserve in the park. In this case, the horse trails

will be discounted to R200 per person.

21 & 22 MAY ADDO – GARDEN ROUTE NATIONAL PARK

After an early breakfast we will make our way to the Garden Route National Park

where we will reside for the next two nights. O route e’ll stop in the small

coastal town of St. Francis Bay for lunch at the local brewery (own account).

On arrival at Storms River Camp you have the day free to explore the area.

Where the booming breakers of the Indian Ocean relentlessly pound rocky

shores, where temperate high forest and fynbos roll down to the sea in an

unspoilt verdant carpet, where ancient rivers carve their paths to the ocean

down rocky ravines. This, "the place of much water", is the Tsitsikamma National Park. The heartland of the park

stretches some 5 km to sea, protecting a wonderland of inter-tidal life, reef and deep-sea fish. Be sure to join your

guide for a 1 ½ hour walk to the suspension bridge for spectacular views.

You have free time on the second day to enjoy any of the below optional activities at an extra cost.

23 MAY STORMS RIVER MOUTH – ROBERTSON

After a very early breakfast we drive through the heart of the Garden Route including Plettenberg Bay, Knysna, the

Lake area a d George. We’ll stop at Knysna Heads for beautiful views of the Indian Ocean, the Knysna estuary and

drive through the charming town.

From George we cross the Outeniqua Mountain and drive along the famous Route 62 through the Klein-Karoo to

Robertson in the Western Cape. Your guide will advise on which stops to do along the way based on your interests.

Places like Oudtshoorn, Calitzdorp and Barrydale are must sees!

On arrival at Africamps Robertson you’ll settle i a d e joy the beautiful scenery.

Activities on site include:

After breakfast we start our day with a tour through the Boland Wine Region. We’ll tra el to the eautiful s all to of - and visit the boutique winery, Bemind, owned by award-winning winemaker, Ilse Schutte. If you’re i terested i Brandy, the legendary South African Brandy Cellar, Klipdrift, is situated in Robertson.

You’ll end the winelands tour with a stop at Spice Route i Paarl, a se sory feast for today’s o oisseurs of craftsmanship and authenticity.

Every artisan invited to be part of the Spice Route Destination community is handpicked and different. From

chocolate making, beer brewing and glass blowing to a selection of tastes from all corners of South Africa, the

25 MAY CAPE TOWN

After breakfast we make our way to the international renowned landmark Table Mountain. This natural world heritage

site, and Natural New 7 Wonder of the World, is a haven of magnificent mountains plunging into crystal seas fringed

with bleached white sands of the Cape Peninsula.

Thereafter we take the the famous Chap a s’ Peak dri e via Houtbay to Cape Point, a spectacular sight with towering

stone cliffs, endemic fynbos, breath-taking bays, beaches and rolling green hills and valley. A Natural World Heritage

Site, Cape Point is histori a d, so e e e say, hau ted. It is a irder’s ri h es ape a d a ota ist’s holy grail. It a seem absolutely fascinating to those with a keen eye, or, to the less curious, simply a finger of land jutting out into

the ocean 60kms from Cape Town. Ulti ately, though, it is o e of ature’s great pla es.

From there we travel onwards to Boulders Beach, a sheltered beach made up of inlets between granite boulders. It

is a popular stop because of a colony of African penguins which settled there in 1982. You’ll ha e so e free ti e to explore the small suburb of Kalk Bay before we head to Camps Bay to enjoy the beautiful African Sunset.
