like to thank the Port Wakefield Chooks & Chicks for their invitation to attend their end of year Friendship Day on Wednesday 2nd December. It was a very pleasant day of friendship, sharing and interacting with other neighbouring groups. A big thankyou to the Pt. Wakefield Chooks & Chicks and Happy Christmas to all.

Newsletter Volunteers Thank You

Morning Tea

Thirteen committee and volunteers attended a thank you morning tea at Salt of the Earth Café. Hosted by the Newsletter committee the group enjoyed Christmas puddings rather than the usual cake with their drinks. The committee hosts the thank you morning tea each year in recognition of the contribution volunteers make in delivering newsletters, manning the library and other activities as required and/or necessary. Their

assistance is invaluable. Thank you volunteers.

PORT WAKEFIELD COMMUNITY CHRISTMAS CAROLS

SUNDAY, 20th DECEMBER, 7.30pm, Soldiers Memorial Hall.

Come along for some carol singing, Community Newsletter Raffle draw, Items, The

colouring in Competition winners announcement, Giving Tree, supper and lots more.

This year for the giving tree our theme is "Socks & Tooth brushes", Bring any type of socks or

toothbrushes to hang on the tree, to then be given to people in need. Please do not wrap anything. Non perishables welcome.

Please feel free to bring some pooled supper, finger food is best, heated and cut up would be helpful

Don't forget to have your colouring in sheets to the post office, Kids by the 11th December, other sections by 16th December.

Christmas Joke While I was working as a store Santa, a boy asked

me for an electric train set. “If you get your train,”

I told him, “your dad is going to want to play with

it too. Is that all right?” The boy became very quiet.

So, moving the conversation along, I asked,

“What else would you like Santa to bring you?”

He promptly replied, “Another train.”

Clive Jones We would like to say Thank You to everyone

for your kind words, cards, visits, phone calls and also those who attended Clive’s Funeral. With our sincere Thanks: Sophie, Paul, Rayleen Jones and family.

Clive Jones 25/9/1948 – 3/11/2015

Thank You I would like to thank everyone for their kind thoughts and many lovely cards on the passing of my mum Phyllis Barker.

Thank you for thinking of us at this sad time Sandy, Dennis, Collin and Cameron.

Historic Wall Restoration

Restoration of part of the historic wall near the bird walk has been completed. A few more repairs will be carried out to the original section that is still intact which will complete this part of the grant project. Three volunteers, Terry Olson, Dick Pain and Peter Hunter with his small excavator undertook much of the preparation work and with the assistance and guidance of Chris Kelly a dry stone wall mason rebuilt the wall. The project was undertaken as part of a grant the Port Wakefield Community Management Committee received from NRM. In the autumn of 2016 it is planned to plant more trees in the area.

Christmas Holiday Library Times

The library will be closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays until 19th January 2016. However it will be open on Sundays except for 27th December and 3rd January.

Helpful Christmas Hints: Don't have a holiday card holder? I have an idea to get those Christmas cards up for friends and family to see. Take a Christmas towel (mine has a Christmas ball on it), and hang it on the wall with 2 thumb tacks. Then you can just staple or tape your cards to it. Upside down candy canes make great cocoa stirrers!
