Detective+ Refinery Turnaround • Necessary maintenance or catalyst upgrades to improve

distillate yields, and maintain safe and efficient operation. • Turnarounds are scheduled at least 1-2 years in advance and

do not necessarily focus on the same operating units. • Depending on the process unit and the amount of maintenance

needed, the length of the turnaround can vary from 1 week to 4 weeks or more.

• Frequently completed by out-sourced crews who hire equipment, and may be issued single gas disposable detector

o Measure ambient levels outside of the space o Utilising the pump, bringing a sample up from within the space for

material is present or can be a fire hazard regardless of the presence of flammable material in the workplace.

• The local area is monitored for flammable gases. • Hot work includes cutting, welding, soldering and brazing

operations for construction/demolition/maintenance/repair activities. Even Xgard calibration!

• Areas are tested prior to work and often continually monitored throughout work.
