4The techniqueBending is a technique that allows to change the shape of a piece of wood, letting the design to be more organic. In this case I used this technique to accomplish an elegant form with this specific material to give a more con-temporary look to the piece.

The ProjectIt´s a ice bin holder made of bended wood. This piece accomplish to hold a regular ice basin with 2 bottles safely. The main idea is to play with the stability of the shape with-out compromising the functionality.

Arquitectural SpaceKitchen Interiors

The project objective was to design for a apartment house, taking care of the funcitionality of all the components in small spaces keep-ing measurements to the minimum without compromising the func-tionality so the space given could be optimized.

The principal characteristics that it is pretended to achieve is the space optimization by means of ergonomics as an important tool to have a mayor functionality into the space, the aesthetics of the furni-ture pieces tought carefully by a design methodology considering the space and the user interactions.

Page 7: Portafolio 2013

User Interaction

This proyect pretends that the user could

be able to interact with the product, in a

simple way, so the kitchen design brings in

furniture pieces that are user friendly.

The kitchen inspire the user to get closer, beacuse

of the way pieces are designed to be attractive

with the help of different materials, textures and

lights that make the kitchen come alive.

The kitchen pieces are made in a way that they

optimize space, a clever design that make multifuntional

furniture with simple geometric forms that helps the

style be minimalistic with a touch of modernism.

Tours and Interactions Lighting

Lighting plays an important part in the design,

because of the small space we are dealing

with, playing with the lights gives the kitchen a

wider sensation of space.

Page 11: Portafolio 2013

The principal challenge to this project was to design to

optimize space, so it was designed to accomplish a

minimanistic style since this movement simplify the

shapes in a very geometrical way, but it also convined

with a contemporary style because of the materials

used in the design like steel and wood.

TheThe dark colors are compensated with diverse points

of lightings to make a bright enviroment that give a

wider sensation of space, all these characteristics join

together to bring this functional kitchen design without

compromising aesthetics.

“ A piece of moon in the pocket is better amulet than a rabbit´s leg” - Jaime Sabines

Facing Moons

Page 22: Portafolio 2013

Since human origins, it is said to be indications in which the moon turns

into a living being and walks between the men to share his happy

moments and his sadnesses. It is born, grows and dies, eternally being

renewed as inmortal. Representative of the intuition and the femininity,

always vigilant and protective, the light in the darkness.
