IGA

Worked at IGA stacking shelves, serving customers, ordering

stock, checking invoices and making claims. I found it to be a

thrilling experience developing relationships with customers

and serving various kinds of people.

Sampler - Direct Nickel Mining Pilot Plant

Currently work at Direct Nickel in their pilot plant, proving

a new process for extracting Nickel out of an ore. My role

involves taking samples from various points around the

process, analysing them and recording them.

The subconscious is a powerful

force of the mind.

Each day we are provided with op-

portunities to exercise or rectify that

which roams the mind. Given that

our surrounding environment affects

our actions in a very tangible manner,

Soak seeks to soothe and massage, to

release any toxic hindrances that one

may have collected during the day

- to help restore the mind back to a

natural state of purity.

Soak’s intent as architecture is to per-

form as an environment that filters :

the sub-conscious

water

1 Walls must have a gradient no less than 1.5.

2 Must allow for a 2 meter buffer for space transformation.

3 Two distinct types must distinguish living from exhibition space.

To be determined by placement of vertices in a 2 box buffer zone from each corner of a 30 x 30m grid divided up at 1 meter intervals. This is done so that there will be only subtle difference amongst the floors so as to not distract from the art, of which is the main element of the building.

The flow of water extends all the way from the roof (roof top cinema) down

to the meditation space. Rain water is caught by the open air cinema (since it

will not be in operation when raining) which is stored, then distributed firstly to

the pool, which spills over an infinite edge to the level of meditation below. The

noise of the falling water will mask noises from the highway as well as provide

a visual filter for the view across the cemetery. Higher level water storage also

allows for the utilisation of gravity for distribution throughout the building.

CURIOSITY HOARDING

Curiosity is a Type-B hoarding

system thats purpose is to

provide weaving surfaces for

advert ising and exhibit ion.

A Curiosity hoarding is built

up from fragmented wooden

panels that al lows for a

building barrier solut ion that

doesn’t impose onto passing

pedestrians the essence of

construct ion, but rather a

tapestry of cultural ar tefacts

or happenings.
