My passion for design covers a multitude of disciplines whereby I perpetually seek inspiration from visual elements of life. I use my inspirations and ideas to suit an individual clients personality and needs resulting in interior and design solutions that meet and go beyond client expectations.

With a preference for aesthetics and appeal of period properties, I thrive in the challenge to work with the existing character of a building. I enjoy tackling potential issues with creative solutions that derive from a concept and design philosophy that meet the demands of the 21st Century lifestyle.

The success of each individual project is determined by the initial thorough under-standing of the structural and spatial possibilities of each building. This, together with a trusting and mutually respectful working relationship between client and con-tractor, is critical to the success of each project.

I am a tenacious, hardworking and dedicated designer. As an enthusiastic, goal orientated person I strive to achieve the highest standards. I want to develop my creative skills, learn from my peers, build upon my experiences and become better at everything I do.

Concept:

A modular living system that will form 1 living pod, ready to be inserted to any accommodat-ing site. This is a customizable system which isaffordableandadaptable, suitabletothefirsthomebuyer;readytostepontothepropertyladder.

Site:

ThebuildingisNo.23onCharlotteRoad,Hox-ton,London.A5minutewalkfromOldStreetstation,thefivestoreybuildingreadytobere-developed to suit the needs of the area: New, Affordable accommodation. The building is east facing, with tall buildings opposite, result-ing in the most sunlight hitting the upper parts and roof of the structure for the most part of the day.

Design Brief:

To keep the cost of apartments to a minimum, the use of space must be maximised; whilst materials should reflect the design qualitythedemographicexpects;sleek,modernanddistinctive.Insidetheapartmentswillsitonemodule,alivingPOD.Theprefabricatedunithas to be attractive to potential buyers, and suitable for their require-ments, they will contain a kitchenette, wardrobe space, bed, storage and bathroom. The building will be divided up to maximise space andlight,withenoughroomfor8apartment.Onthegroundfloortherewillbeanartgallery,reception,Postroom,Officeandprivatebararea.ThemodularPODaestheticwillrunthroughthedesignofthe building, with the use of cubes and block-like shapes accentuat-ing the theme.

Context:

The location demographic spells the design ethos. An up and coming areaforyoungprofessionals,particularlyintheart&cultureindus-tries, creates a market for 1st home studio apartments. The area was renowned in theearly1900s for furnituremaking, withshopsandwarehouses occupying many of the buildings on this street. How-ever these days the area is famous for it’s art culture, with the white cube gallery and Hoxton square just at the end of the street. In the evening the area is bustling with bars and events catering for the art community, making a gallery and bar area in the design a good choiceofspaceallocationtothegroundfloor.The5storeybuildingwill give the space required to carry out the design concept, giving enough space for the allocated apartments and pods. The modular aestheticwillreflecttheconcept.
