INTRODUCTION
IntroductionI am an Architect and Permaculture Designer, with a passion in the social Development of the World, particularly creating human settlements that benefit its people and environment. Focus in design thats in conjunction with nature, using Bioclimatic Design and Permaculture Design while respecting the natural resources that the planet gives us.
Two years ago I went to Australia for studying Permaculture with the creator of this discipline, Bill Mollison, at the University of Melbourne, Australia. This was a dream that I could reach, and helped me to receive the knowledge about this system of design which points out to work with the Land and not against it. Coming back to Chile I want to share this, at the time of design our public spaces, applying sustainable and beauty concepts, design patterns respectful to the Earth. I would love to share this with the people that need it most. The need for living in green environments is not just because of its beauty, also it allows us to live in a more harmonious way in contact with the earth, and even more important, it allows us to grow our own food, in community; happy enjoying what nature has provided us.

CONSULTING FOR SUSTAINABLE DESIGN LANDSCAPE
Consulting for Sustainable Design LandscapeConsulting and design of a green plate, part of the whole design of a Complex of Inclusive Collective Housing built of wood, for the city of Concepcin, Chile. Calling it a green plate is making reference to the Landscape Design of the project, which are green recreational areas on the first level and turn plate community work, on the second level, which consisted of vegetable beds and leisure areas, always trying to strike a balance between sustainability and in turn separation with private green areas of each department. We also sought to place the trees at strategic points depending on the desired shade.
As part of a permaculture concept, we design a system for collecting rain water, carried in underground tanks to have supply during the dry season in Concepcin, for irrigation of beds and recreational areas, achieving self-sustainability of the landscape design project.

PERMACULTURE DESIGN, LANDSCAPE REGENERATION AND FOOD FOREST
Permaculture Design, landscape regeneration and food forest, Wanaka, New ZealandAfter finishing the PDC (Permaculture Design Certificate Course), in the University of Melbourne, Australia, I had the opportunity to design a permaculture project for a family in New Zealand. It was a great chance, with the kiwilandscape being similar to the postglacial landscape in the south of Chile, where this type of geography is perfect to project the design of dams and swales. Basically the shape of the landscape allows to reach the basic first purpose in a permaculture design, to capture the water efficiently by moving it over the contour to add in generating soil, therefore the generation of fertility for the creation of a self-sustaining ecosystem.

First it was necessary to recognize the propertys size, and profile shape, especially key contour lines for handling the waters movement over the ground and water retention in this. After thinking ways of soil restoration was critical with the eroded and heavily compacted from many years of grazing and monoculture agriculture explosion in the land.
After this came the key and basic exercises for the future design. We designed a windbreaker that did not block the 180 degrees view from the inside of the house, which because of Wanaka council rules needed to be located in this place to not be seen from the road, leaving the house in the windiest place but with the best view of the property.

The next step of the design process was to draw the key contour lines; the idea is that these are contour lines where it is more efficient to move the water, along the property, hydrating the different areas of the land, creating soil fertility. At the same time a restoration treatment of the soil was necessary, which is demarcated by dashed lines in the plan. These channels also bind the different dams, moving through the contour line, with an overflow system, which allows the soil to be in constant hydration simply capturing the rainwater year falling during the year over the ground. This was the general scheme worked in the field.

After tracing the swales and dams, edible forests areas were traced, the windbreaker on the north side, which was a volume of soil and vegetation, and the west faces windbreaker. Then the vegetable species were chosen and how to combine them by scale, protection and leaf type, and clearly, as the needs of the clients. Also we taught them how to create their own compost so that they could have the basis of soil generation and grounds restoration for planting and growing their own vegetables in the future.

Permaculture Design THE LIVING IN PEACE PROJECT, Karamea, Nueva ZelandaNamed for its pursuit to achieve self-sustainability, specifically energy and food self-sustainable. Located in the southern island of the country, in a natural context, surrounded by national parks, on the west coast, I was greeted by the Permaculture Manager David Tailby, Certified Designer Permaculture by Bill Mollison also, assisting him to design different areas of the property such as orchards and edible forest, plus tasks such as creating compost and seedlings (the base of any planting), management of irrigation water based on rainwater harvesting and to choose the association of plant species. This last point allowed me to learn how to find the most beneficial place for each element, always designing for the creation of a natural ecosystem that achieves self-sustainability over time.

DESIGN OF REPAIRS OF HERITAGE HOUSES IN HISTORIC CENTER OF RANCAGUA, CHILE
Design of Repairs of Heritage Houses in Historic Center of Rancagua, ChileAfter the huge Earthquake of 27th February 2010, the historic center of the city Rancagua was seriously damaged. All the buildings of this area are adobe-brick constructions, so some of the damages needed to be fixed with this old way of construction. This job was part of the governmental Program of Reconstruction and Repair of Heritage Buildings. We needed to visit the different houses, speak with the owners, measure them, register the damage in a diagnosis resume sheet, than design the repairs, and then go and visit with the Engineers in Construction for explain our Design Purpose, so they could built them according with our plans.

Design of Restaurant Santa BrasaThis was an order of the owner of this company, that wanted to built this Retail project in the new shopping center of Santiago. It was an interior design of a restaurant, trying to give a scenic image, working with layers in the scenery background, different textures and depths, red acrylic and dry aged area behind a wood ribbon moving from the background to the front of the project. The main difficulty was to respond to all the requierements that the shopping centers asked for.

STRUCTURAL REPAIR OF S.I.I. BUILDING, RECOLETA, SANTIAGO
Structural Repair of S.I.I. Building, Recoleta, SantiagoAfter the huge Earthquake of 27th February 2010, many Buildings were damaged from Santiago, capital of Chile, to Concepcion, Earthquakes epicenter. At this Engineer Consulting, AEES, they received many orders for Structural Calculations and Repairs Design for this damaged buildings. This was one of them, the building was having mainly damages in all the beams and columns, and the last level needed to be completely rebuilt, with collaborating slabs, therefore, join a new metallic structure with the old concrete one, strengthened this last one. My roll in this job was drafting and architecture design to support the engineers for the solution of structural problematics.

So they bought a property in Valparaiso, Chile, and decided to built a new School that needed to respond to the Montessori Education Requirements, and at the same time, a building that could be eco-efficient, as much as possible. The project was developed until preliminary draft status, for being presented in Valparaisos Council, for receiving the permit for Project Development.

Design of Ruka Eco-Lodge for indigenous Asociation MapulahualThis was the Design for a Concourse, the problematic consisted in design a Lodge for the indigenous community Mapulahual , starting to develop an eco-tourism project, supported financially by the WWF (Worldwide Foundation). They needed to develop this spaces for work in their own economic activities, like weaving and preparation of jams and preserves, and at the same time a place for receiving guests. It was inspired in the Huilliches Indigenous Communities Lifestyle and Culture, living around the Fire place in the center. And the way to come into the project was proposing a series of tracks in the forest, respecting the landscape of the place. They did not have the enough finance to built it in one time. So was necessary to design it for two Building Stages.

MUSEUM OF MYTHOLOGY OF CHILOE
Museum of Mythology of Chiloe This was the last Project in the University of Bio-Bio, created over a year for release and diploma. I love the island of Chiloe, thats why I chose this place of Chile for develop my last project in the career. The Mythology of Chiloe is something really particular of this island, attached to more then 30 legends and mythological beings. At the same time the way to develop the tourism is to spread this culture, and the best way was creating a space, for local artist, who are spinning, dyeing and knitting, wool. Is in the interaction with visitors and local artist, local people, that the Mythology could be transferred in an oral way, and is in the classic museum program how the mythology could be transferred in a tangible way, pictures, reading and visual tools. Therefore the Museum is a multi-programmatic building, anchored to an urban intervention, tracks along the ocean border and classic pile houses or palafitos on the bay of the city of Castro, having the project a dialogue through the illusion of the ghost boat Caleuche, local legend, with the urban environment.
