I Born and live in Sassari / Sardinia, I had graduated from classical gymnasium high

school , in 2003 I decided that I would have studied architecture in the faculty of Alghero.

I think the studies lead mainly to an interpretation of the city, the city as

a whole architecture, in its principal evolution as social and tectonic,

morphological and functional.

Architectural practice evolved in the duality of the interpretation of urban society life style

and its manifestation as a static architectural fact. The static and intellectual fact is

a synthetic and discrete compromise suitable to form

a contemporary urbanity and its respective reside. The architectural fact remains tool

itself in the city, designed from static rules giving a functional answer (personal and

arising from the interpretation).

Sono nato nella città di Sassari in Sardegna, maturato al liceo ginnasio, nel 2003 decido

che avrei studiato architettura nella facoltà di Alghero.

Gli studi credo portino principalmente ad una interpretazione della città, la città tutta come

architettura, nelle sue principali evoluzioni sociali e tettoniche, morfologiche e funzionali.

La pratica architettonica si sviluppa nella dualità di interpretazione della società urbana e

il suo abitare e la sua manifestazione statica come fatto architettonico. L’intervento statico

e intellettuale rappresenta un compromesso sintetico e discreto che va a formare una

urbanità contemporanea con il suo rispettivo abitare. Il fatto architettonico rimane

strumento esso stesso nella città, progettato a partire da leggi statiche ne da’ una

risposta funzionale (personale e derivante dall’interpretazione).

2004/05 project and reuse_prof. Aldo Lino

The project have the purpose to give a new identity for the artificial cut of the waterfront in the city

of Bosa Marina and his beach.The Isola Rossa (Red Island) is now the last part of land: his

previous conformation like island is evident also by the presence of a spanish sighting tower. This

space is currently a bit debased which becomes incubtor of the project. A strong visual impact

element speek with the tower, and give a public reason like conclusion of the long walk side that

from the beach through the breakwater wall reaches until the tower.

2004/05 progetto e riuso_prof. Aldo Lino

Il progetto si propone lo scopo di dare una nuova identità alla chiusura artificale del fronte mare

della frazione di Bosa Marina e della sua spiaggia. L’Isola Rossa costituisce questo ultimo lembo di

terra: la sua conformazione precedente come isola vera e propria, ci è testimonata anche dalla

presenza di una torre di avvistamento aragonese. Questo spazio attualmente piuttosto degradato

diventa incubatore del progetto nel quale un elemento di forte impatto formale dialoga con la torre,

e fornisce un alibi pubblico come conclusione della lunga passeggiata che dalla spiaggia attraversa

il muraglione frangiflutti e arriva fino alla torre.

2004/05 project minimal spaces_prof. Pierre von Meiss

This project is in a un-urban situation, comparison with the architectural element becomes an

ancestral relationship with building practice. A roof is a shelter of a minimal space, a small refuge in the

occidental seaside of Sardinia.

The project is organized in 30 sqm with all necessary element for a modern life. The housing space is closed

in the two “L” brick (massive) wall concept. This two walls, in contrapposition, give a internal space result

with two big hole that working like catalizator for internal light. The simple internal space is maden just by the

two walls with symbolic and functional massive structure. A complex roof lies on this structure with

the purpose of insulation and weight balance, but also suitable for the reflaction of solar ray. The roof is

balanced in section on the east wall, and all its section structure look similar to a wing of an airplane.

2004/05 progetto minimi spazi_prof. Pierre von Meiss

Questo progetto è posto in una situazione anti-urbana, il confronto con l’elemento architettonico

diventa l’ancestrale rapporto con il costruito. Un tetto di riparo in uno spazio minimo, un piccolo

rifugio sulla costa occidentale della Sardegna.

Il progetto si organizza in 30 mq con tutti gli elementi necessari per la vita. Lo spazio abitativo si

chiude nel concetto di due “L” in muratura massiva. Questi due muri contrapposti danno un

risultato interno con due aperture ampie che fungono anche da punto di acquisizione della luce

all’interno. Lo spazio molto semplice è costrituito solamente dalle due murature simbolicamente e

funzionalmente massive. Su questa struttura è adagiato un tetto complesso per la coibentazione e

l’equilibrio dei pesi, ma anche adatto alla rifrazione della luce solare: in sezione trasversale si

bilancia sul muro somigliando alla sezione dell’ala di un aeroplano.

2004/05 project and city_prof. Luigi Snozzi

The city and its clear morfology, tipology and gerarchic conformation, define the guidelines of project. The

city of Alghero and its historical center with Ghotic lot is analized by the project to determine its bases. The

complex is four line buildings, used as a open space residence. This, in turn, is divided in two pairs: two load-

bearing masonry buildings and two bridge buildings. All this four buildings follow the same direction and have

the same rationalist language, with facade caratterized by big ribbon windows. The bridge buildings are

particularity of the project. This mark the dramatic nature of the choice of mending a possible texture, at the

expense of a new building, in perpendicular position of the line that guide others buildings. The only existing

building is bypassed with a clear contrast.

2004/05 progetto e città_prof. Luigi Snozzi

La città e la sua conformazione morfologica, gerarchica e tipologica determina le direttrici del

progetto. La città di Alghero e il suo chiaro centro storico a lotti gotici viene analizzata nel progetto

per determinarne le basi. Il complesso costituito da quattro edifici in linea adibiti a residenze open

space, si suddivide a sua volta in due coppie di edifici: due edifici a muratura portante e due edifici

a ponte che seguono la stessa direzione degli altri come anche hanno lo stesso linguaggio

architettonico chiaramente razionalista, con prospetti caratterizzati da ampie finestre a nastro. Gli

edifici a ponte sono forse la particolarità del progetto e segnano la drammaticità della scelta di

ricucitura di un tessuto possibile a discapito di un edificio di recente costruzione, posto

perpendicolare rispetto la linea che seguono gli altri edifici, che viene scavalcato con chiara

contrapposizione.

2004/05 progetto e permanenza_prof. Valentin Bearth

The project site was chosen in an historical center where there is an urban resut of US bombing, during II

world war. A site like this, with urban void assorbed by the city, allows to confront in exclusive way with the

texture of the historical city. Then the reconstruction and interpretation of historical permanence are

the basis of the project. It is proposed a hotel for the city of Alghero. The project compares with the historical

facades, looking modestly to relate in a linear way, it’s a role in reassembly of heights, and at the

same time revealing discreetly its modern essence. The dense pattern of the historic city calls for use all

of small spaces, so the project is in full possession of the lot. The typology of the hotel created horizontal

circulation in the middle of two side of rooms. The rooms are arranged in a rigid way on two fronts, the

internal vertical distribution is planned on the north head of area and the horizontal distribution is in the

center of the building. A big hall is connected with the square in front throught the use of big double-height

gapes. This space is designed with a wooden modulated wave ceiling , prepared especially

for the enjoyment of music in the hall, which can become an indoor space for concerts and can also be

enjoyed from outside the building.

Il sito del progetto viene scelto in un area del centro storico nella quale si presenta un vuoto urbano

risultato dei bombardamenti americani nella città durante la seconda guerra mondiale. Un sito di

questo tipo, con un vuoto ormai comunque assorbito come tale dalla città, permette di confrontarsi

con il tessuto della città storica in maneira molto esclusiva. La ricostruzione quindi e

l’interpretazione della permanenza storica sono le basi el progetto. Viene proposto un hotel per la

città di Alghero, vista la sua vocazione prettamente turistica. Il progetto si confronta con i prospetti

storici, cercando con modestia di rapportarsi in maniera lineare, svolgendo un ruolo di

riassemblamento delle altezze, e allo stesso tempo rivelando con discrezione la sua essenza

moderna. Il tessuto denso della città storica chiede l’uso di ogni piccolo spazio, così il progetto si

impossessa in toto del lotto. La tipologia funzionale dell’albergo crea un alveare interno di stanze,

poste in maneira rigida sui due fronti, la distribuzione verticale avviene nella testata nord dell’edifici

e la distribuzione orizzontale interna è centrale. Una ampia hall si connette con la paizza antistante

attraverso ampie aperture a doppia altezza. Questo spazio viene studiato con un controsoffitto in

legno modulato a onde, disposto particolarmente per la fruizione musicale nella hall, che può

diventare uno spazio per concerti coperto e fruibile anche dall’esterno dell’edificio.

2005/06 progetto e viabilità_prof. Willi Hüsler

The project is a description of a short experience with the urbanist Prof. Willi Hüsler.

The intention is to create, through an analysis of urban roads in the city of Alghero and an analysis of its

functionals and logistics contents, a pedestrian space and parking of cars close to the central Sulis tower.

This space becomes a properly designed on a human scale and settled for vehicle mobility. The square that

is created as a hinge for the movements of pedestrians: this is placed on a different level than

the space dedicated to cars. The only crossing of the square is a small lane, alternating one-way,

going to effect of pedestrian area in a gentle way. The trees and concrete chairs in the square work as

deterrents for cars.

2005/06 progetto e viabilità_prof. Willi Hüsler

Il progetto è la descrizione di una breve esperienza con l’urbanista Willi Hüsler. La volontà è quella di creare

attraverso un analisi della viabilità urbana della città di Alghero, dei suoi contenuti funzionali e logistici, uno

spazio pedonale e di sosta delle automobili a ridosso della centrale torre Sulis. Questo spazio diventa

adeguatamente pensato a misura d’uomo e regolarizzato per quanto riguarda l’aspetto della mobilità

veicolare. La piazza che viene creata funge da cerniera per i movimenti pedonali e viene posta su un diverso

livello rispetto allo spazio dedicato alle automobili. L’unico attraversamento della piazza rimane una piccola

carreggiata a senso alternato che va a intaccare lo spazio pedonale in maniera leggera. Gli alberi e le

sedute in cemento della piazza funzionano, in prossimità della carreggiata, come dissuasori per le auto.

2005/06 project museum layout_prof. Antonello Cuccu

The project of museum layout has done through the proposal of a monographic exhibition on the

artist designer Eugenio Tavolara. The location chosen in the old palace of Frumentaria (used as a grain

storage in the past) in the historical center of the city of Sassari. The staging is accurate in

every aspect: external graphics, machinery exhibition, the choice of works to be exhibited. Outside

there are 4 panels oriented places to be seen from the entrance of the street. These panels will make

up the main facade of the building. The machinery inside the exhibition is organized in a predetermined

drive path. The center of the exhibition is a "room" separated from the rest

of exposure through the booths which is maden of a dense set of strings. The room has a large bas-relief of

the artist. The steel arcs are guide the path and is similar to arched openings of the building.

2005/06 progetto allestimento_prof. Antonello Cuccu

Il progetto di allestimento museale viene affrontato attraverso la proposta di una mostra monografica

sull’artista designer Eugenio Tavolara. Il luogo prescelto è il vacchio palazzo della Frumentari (antico

deposito di grano) nel centro storico della città di Sassari. L’allestimento viene curato in ogni suo aspetto:

grafica esterna, macchina espositiva, scelta delle opere da esporre. All’esterno vengono posti 4 pannelli

orientati per poter essere visti dall’imbocco della via. Questi pannelli andranno a comporre la facciata

principale del palazzo. La macchina espositiva interna si organizza dentro un percorso rigido prestabilito, al

centro dell’esposizione una “camera” divisa dal resto dell’ esposizione attraverso dei separè costruiti con una

fitta serie di corde. La camera ospita un ampio bassorilievo dell’artista. Dei montanti ad arco in acciaio

guidano il percorso e richiamano l’infilata delle aperture ad arco del palazzo.

2006/07 THREE-YEAR DEGREE THESIS _prof. Aldo Lino

Thesis project carried out with relator Arch. Prof. Aldo Lino. The thesis, entitled "Alternative urban"

is an analysis of the Sassari and its chances for recovery and regeneration of growth in accord with the

existing fabric pattern. This method analyzed the case to the train station of the city, and particularly

the possible expansion of the city to the north area, known as "industrial zone Predda Niedda”. The nucleus

of regeneration is formed mainly in two parts. The first part, very clear and deliberate of great visual impact

is given by five austere towers of housing, they wanted to show the direction of the new expansion.

The second part consists of the elements of the intervention on cue, low on the base of the towers. These

elements want to recreate the human dimension of the project, hosting a city market. The project

is located in an area dedicated in the past to the cultivation of olive trees. This theme is taken up in the

open of intervention recreating a park of olive trees.

2006/07 TESI LAUREA TRIENNALE_prof. Aldo Lino

Progetto di tesi condotta con relatore l’Arch. Prof. Aldo Lino. La tesi dal titolo “Alternativa urbana”

rappresenta un analisi della città di Sassari e le sue possibilità di rigenerazione e ripresa per una crescita

coerente con il tessuto esistente. Viene analizzato il caso della stazione dei treni della città, e in particolare la

possibile espansione della città verso la zona nord detta “zona industriale di Predda Niedda”. Il nucleo di

rigenerazione si forma principalmente in due parti. La prima parte, molto evidente e volutamente di grande

impatto formale è data da cinque torri di abitazione dall’aspetto austero, che vogliono indicare la direzione

della nuova espansione. La seconda parte dell’intervento è costituita dagli elementi a stecca, bassi, posti alla

base delle torri. Questi elementi vogliono ricreare la dimensione umana del progetto, con il ruolo di ospitare

all’interno un mercato cittadino. Il progetto si colloca in un area anticamente dedicata alla coltivazione degli

alberi di ulivo. Questo tema viene ripreso negli spazi aperti dell’intervento ricreando un parco ulivetato.

Project of building is a shelter in extreme climates. For the site in extreme climates has been chosen an

area in the Dolomite Alps, close to the Marmolada. The project is created through the study of

traditional Alpine stone architecture. This technique is used to create the outer shell of the house-shelter-

center research.

This shell, resistant to avalanches,and formed in the upper mountain from a cusp to break the flow of

snow in the event of a landslide, has openings only in the face to the valley. Access is placed several

meters above the ground to compensate a case of snow cover of the entrance. The interior is maden entirely

of wood. Even this technique of construction and insulation have roots in traditional architecture. In the

project the wood is revisited for its particular flexibility of use and is enriched with several layers

of insulation. The cover is also maden in wooden frame with two flaps and the outside covered with metallic

material.

Progetto di un edificio di rifugio in climi estremi. Per il sito in climi estremi è stata scelta un’area nelle Alpi

dolomitiche, in prossimità della Marmolada. Il progetto viene creato attraverso lo studio dell’architettura

tradizionale alpina in pietra. Questa tecnica è usata per creare il guscio esterno dell’abitazione-rifugio-centro

ricerche. Questo guscio, resistente all’attacco delle valanghe, e costituito nel lato a monte da una cuspide

per rompere il flusso di neve in caso di slavina, ha aperture solo nelle facciate a valle. L’accesso viene posto

a diversi metri di altezza dal suolo per ovviare alla copertura dell’entrata dalla neve. L’interno è interamente

in legno. Anche questa tecnica costruttiva e di coibentazione ha radici nell’architettura tradizionale. Nel

progetto il legno è rivisitato per la sua particolare duttilità di utilizzo e viene arricchito con diversi strati di

coibentazione. La copertura e’ anch’essa con struttura portante in legno a due falde e la parte esterna

rivestita in materiale metallico.

2007/08 Project in historical context_prof. Gonçalo Byrne

Project is located in historical center of Alghero, want to review the relationship between new architectural

building and historical context. The site is chosen at the edge of historical city and stands on the north

side on the bastion. The sectional relationship between it and the site, determines a number of decisions of

the project. The facade on the bastion, which hosts an art gallery, has not direct entrance in the front, the

acces is in lateral part. The structural division of the lots around it, with Catalan origines, give the

other indications of the project: a large wall plug that separate gallery from the hotel which occupies

the building side that is directed towards the city: the relationship between these two building is totally cut off,

except the terraces of hotel rooms that occupy the various roofing heights of the art gallery.

2007/08 Progetto nel contesto storico_prof. Gonçalo Byrne

Progetto situato nel centro storico di Alghero, tende a rivedere i rapporti tra nuovo manufatto architettonico e

contesto storico. Il sito scelto ai margini della città storica, si pone sul fronte nord del bastione. Il rapporto in

sezione tra quest’ultimo e il sito determina diverse decisioni del progetto. La facciata sul bastione, che

accoglie una galleria d’arte, non ha aperture dirette sul fronte, l’accesso è laterale. La divisione strutturale dei

lotti attorno, di origine catalana, da le altre indicazioni del progetto: un ampio muro di spina divide la galleria

dall’hotel che occupa la parte dell’edificio che si rivolge verso la città, i rapporti tra questi due edifici vogliono

essere totalmente stroncati, ad eccezione dei terrazzi delle stanze dell’hotel che occupano le coperture a

diverse altezze della galleria.

2007/08 Project and archeology_prof. Marco Milanese

Architectural renovation of the "Complex of Santa Chiara" , this operation has involved the reorganization of

the two excavations in the area outside. The entrance to the courtyard is spread only through the door to the

sea, which is returned to the old entrance. Archaeological excavations play a crucial role for

the activity taking place on the outside of the building. For the most extensive archeological area is thought a

caffettery place that stands close to the jump altitude. The second archaeological dig becomes a resting

place near the entrance door of the sea. The project aims to create an article of outdoor spaces (step, stop,

restaurants, etc..), which revolve around pre-existing historical and archaeological sites,

giving them the opportunity not only to coexist with the modern project, but to have a new function.

2007/08 Progetto e acheologia_prof. Marco Milanese

Recupero Architettonico del “Complesso di Santa Chiara”, tale operazione interessa la risistemazione dei

due scavi archeologici presenti nell’area esterna. L’ingresso al cortile si sviluppa unicamente attraverso la

porta a mare, che viene riportata alla vecchia funzione di accesso. Gli scavi archeologici assumono un ruolo

fondamentale per l’attività che si svolgerà nella parte esterna dell’edificio. Per l’area archeologica più ampia

viene pensato uno spazio di ristoro che si attesta in prossimità del salto di quota. Il secondo scavo

archeologico diventa uno spazio di sosta in prossimità dell’ingresso della porta mare. Il progetto intende

creare un articolazione degli spazi esterni (passaggio, sosta, ristorno, etc.), che ruotino attorno alle

presistenze storico-archeologiche, dando loro la possibilità non solo di convivere con il progetto moderno,

ma di riappropriarsi di una funzione.

2008/09 Urban project_prof. Yuksel Demir

The project aims at revitalizing and mending the urban fabric of the neighborhood of Persempe Pazar in

Galata district. The area is a long line of Haliç coast where currently there is the bazaar of fish.

This area in strong degradation host different important architectural elements (a caravanserai,

a mosque design by architect Sinan). The proposed project consists of a series of raised lightweight steel

steps, which are useful to bypass the very busy street through a network of roads constitute a level

of pedestrian use. This level area is not affected by road traffic. Many buildings are used as strategical useful

points to lick different parts of the district, hosting connection from the path to the soil. Paths

end with towers with the function of visual point of the historic city. The design of the line coast has

two pools for swimming that close to the north, with a service building, the area of park and bazaar.

Il progetto ha come scopo la rivitalizzazione e la ricucitura con il tesuto urbano di galata del quartiere di

Persempe Pazari. L’area occupa una lunga linea di costa sull’Haliç dove attualmente è presente il bazar del

pesce. Questa area in forte stato di degrado ospita diversi manufatti architettonici di un certo rilievo (un

caravanserraglio, una moschea dell’architetto Sinan). Il progetto proposto consiste in una serie di passaggi

sopraelevati leggeri in acciaio, utili a scavalcare la grande strada molto trafficata ch si connette con il ponte

Ataturk a nord, attraverso una rete di strade pedonali che costituiscon un livello di fruizione dell’area che

rpescinde dal traffico automobilistico. Diversi edifici in punti strategicamente utili a lambire diverse parti del

quartiere ospitano al connessione diq eusti percorsi sopraelevati con il terreno. I eprcorsi finiscono con delle

torri in testata per la fruizione visiva della città storica. Il progetto della linea di costa prevede due piscine per

la balneazione che chiudono a nord, con un edificio di servizio, l’area di parco e di bazar.

Yenikapi project area in Istanbul. The intervention required is to design a new subway station. The area is a

junction between the city that has developed in north part of peninsula of the historical city of

Istanbul and the ancient village of Yenikapi, well detectable in historical maps and in the difference

of scale, with the rest of city. The project consists of a master plan to large-scale flows around the limits of

the village to reach the sea. The metro station is divided into four arms, separated from open spaces that are

parts of the archaeological park.

Progetto nel’area di Yenikapi nella città di Istanbul. L’intervento richiesto è la progettazione di una nuova

stazione della metropolitana. L’area rappresenta una congiunzione tra la città che si è sviluppata nell’area

nord dell’anticola penisola storica della città di Istanbul, e l’antico villaggio di Yenikapi, ben individuablie nella

cartografia storica e nella differenza di scala del villaggio, con il resto della città. Il progetto è costituito da un

masterplan a una larga scala che lambisce i limiti del villaggio fino ad arrivare al mare. La stazione della

metro si divide in quattro braccia, separate da degli spazi aperti che vanno a fare parte del parco

archeologico.
