My name is Ewa Pandera. In December 2004, I graduated from Art
Education in the University of Silesia in Cieszyn with specialization
in graphic design. During my studies the main specialization was
workshop and computer graphics. At that time I had many
opportunities to learn many applied techniques but also new and
experimental solutions in the field of Fine Art. I find graphic design
very inspiring and want to develop my knowledge and skills in this
area in the future.
My achievements resulted in participation in a few
international art workshops. I have cooperated with City Hall’s
Department of Promotion in Cieszyn designing promotion
materials. I also worked as Cultural Animator for a gallery
“Szara”. My responsibilities included coordination of exhibition
services, organizing contemporary art shows, designing
invitation materials and creating multimedia presentations of
the gallery “Szara”. The cooperation helped me gain very
important expertise.
All my art work is a result of every day observation of life,
people, relationships, changing surrounding, everyday
sorrows and joys.
I work in my sketchbook where I put initial ideas and then
sometimes they develop into more deep and detailed images.
My art is also inspired by travels, classic and innovative
movies.
Most important for me as an artist is the process of creating
the work of art exploring different techniques, inventing new
solutions for the desired results.
I had the opportunity to participate in few International Workshops in Ostrava, Czech
Republic, where I created serigraphy printings shown in the next few slides.
Some of them where inspired by trip to Odessa
and the Crimean peninsula. In the others I recreated shadows
in different techniques and medias.

I use various graphic techniques such as mezzotint, aquatint, aqua fort, dry needle, linocut and techniques created by my-self
where I used non etching properties of metal covered with photocopy ink.
Pregnant women and experiments with different poses formed with shadows were an inspiration.

Followers have been my thesis at the University of Silesia in 2004
My work explores the relationship between acquired synaesthesia and daytime TV.With influences as diverse as Rembrandt van Rijn and Edward Munch, new insights are crafted from both traditional and modern dialogues.Ever since I was a teenager I have been fascinated by the ephemeral nature of relationships. What starts out as triumph soon becomes manipulated into a cacophony of temptation, leaving only a sense of unreality and the inevitability of a new order. As shifting replicas become transformed through studious and undefined practice, the viewer is left with an impression of the limits of our condition.

Followers series were exhibited at the University of Silesia in Cieszyn in 2004, in the Library Gallery in Gliwice in June 2005
and “Transylvania” Gallery in Cracow in November 2005.

During my studies at University, I took part in a one year ceramic course. At that time I had the opportunity to learn many applied
techniques but also new and experimental solutions in the field of ceramics.
In the years 2005-2006 I volunteered in the ceramic workshop in Cracow in Poland. During that time I was taking part in a pottery workshop for children with disability helping them create little
animals from clay. I’m currently working in Sawtry Community College as a
Teaching Assistant, mostly in the Art Department. Part of my responsibilities is also to help in the pottery workshop.
I rediscovered my love of ceramics once again and I find it a very inspiring and creative and want to develop my knowledge and
skills in this area in the future.
