BACKGROUND|The Jesperson Residential Development is a community of sustainable multi-family Co-Op homes, complete with communal and recreational amentities, such as a creekwalk, a communal workshop, and a multi-purpose house. The design was carried all the wa through site analysis to CAD construction documents

ANALYSIS OVERLAY

The design process explored overlay diagramming techniques to lead the master planning. A holistic site analysis of the property was conducted to optimize the opportunities and identify the constraints of the site. 3D simulation and time modeling were also employed to test design iterations for year-round use.

RSVP XVIAN IMMERSIVE TRANS-MEDIA EXPERIENCE

For the production of RSVP XVI, I introduced a new emphasis on audience spatial experiences. The goal was to create an “Event-Space” where the audience is not simply watching a show, but is physically immersed, and intellectually engaged in the surrounding environment.

The Set Design for RSVP XVI was approached in a holistic manner by applying landscape architecture principles to address the user entry and orientation experiences by taking advantage of site-specific opportunities.

To encourage interaction with the “farmers market” setting prior to the show, it was proposed that tickets were assigned specific entry doors as well as corresponding seats located opposite side so that patrons must pass through the interactive portions of the set.

To further integrate trans-media elements into an immersive audience experience, unconventional multi-planar surfaces for projection were designed and installed in, around, and behind audience members. Specialized software was employed to transform objects over the course of the show to compliment the performance at hand.
