BRANDINGCreated for the ‘Adelaide University Coffee Lovers Club’, this logo has multiple platforms of application. Primarily as a logo, I needed something that could be created using a simple stamp technique. It took quite a bit of refinement to get it to a\such a simple shape, but I feel I got there in the end.

Page 5: Portfolio2

BRANDINGThis branding assignment was in two parts, creating two logo’s for two different subjects chosen by lecturers at uni. I found it challenged my idea generation abilities quite a lot, but in the end I feel I came up with two iconic images.

BRANDINGI have recently been appointed the Marketing and communications officer for my volleyball club which is allowing me to first of all give back to my club that has given me so much enjoyment, but to also play around with strong branding on multiple platforms including merchandise, web, print and social media. I wanted the branding to convey a sense of fun and enjoyment, as well as skill and sicerity to boost our number of players and insill morale in teams.

FAMILY CAFE

BRANDINGI was asked to create the logo for a cafe that my uncle and aunt are starting in aldinga. They wanted something that would express their family orientation, as well as take the interest in more mature diners. The circular shape was used as an alternative to the ‘tree of life’ request from my client, to show wholeness with eachother and the earth. I received very positive feedback from my client on this recommendation and final choice.

From the Yzan trees from the Colombian mountain range, this powerful little lady has a very strong finish, Kind of like the ecstasy of climbing to the top of this mighty mountain.

Our Ethiopian Beans are grown in the dry aridness that gives them their fruity strength that rolls of the tongue. Served black, this brew should shine bright.

These Guatemalan beans are for those special occasions that require nothing but the best! Serve hot, cold, thick or thin, strong or weak.

This Indonesian Island goes back a long way with it’s relationship with coffee. As a result we have the classic flavour of caramel, paired with the tropical coco-nutty influence.

We had to hike a couple of days to Machu Pichu to get these gorgeous pockets of south American Flavour. The view was well worth it! Serve white or pourover.

Grown in the Arid dessert region of the middle east, our Yemen ghouds origin is sweet and salty, the lack of water increasing it’s potency. Serve white or cold brewed.

PACKAGE DESIGNThe brief was to create a package design for a product we felt didn’t have an appropriately designed current package. I chose to create a package for fresh coffee beans to be used in the home with a longer shelf life. My design was based around the idea of small, individual dosages, with a minimum amount of waste.

The tabs are torn off as each layer of beans is used.

There is a seal for each layer of beans to keep them fresh.

Page 10: Portfolio2

BOOKLET DESIGNThis project was to create an annual report for a company or organisation of our choice. My design was intended to create visual interest, but needed to also be easy to navigate. As my organisation was the Hutt st Homeless shelter, I set my own requirement that it had to be cheap to print.

POSTER DESIGNThis poster was designed for a uni assignment focussing on the persuasion of an audience. The contemporry news topic I chose was the recent culling of sharks in New South Wales. I wanted to engage the viewer and instil in them a sense of guilt.

BOOKLET DESIGNThe creation of this booklet was a third of a major project of mine. The idea was that ‘package design’ was to be researched, specialising in an area of interest, and our findings presented in a self designed booklet. Our findings would then influence the development of a package that we would design ourselves. My selected area was coffee. (refer to page 8)

CORPORATE IDENTITY DESIGNThis brief was for a very special client; my mum. She wanted something that was professional yet fun, and fresh. She had a lot of information that was a challenge to compress into a logical and legible resume. I created a Letterhead and Business card for her to use in conjunction.

CORPORATE IDENTITY DESIGNFor myself, I wanted to create something that was very unique and instantly recognisable. This idea was something I have been developing since I started studying. I designed my reume first, with the intention of being hired (it worked), and from comments from people as I hand it to them, I have been inspired to create similar resume’s and idetities for other people.

Graphic Designer / Illustrator

I write to you with the intention of applying for the position of Graphic Designer. I am currently in my third year of Graphic Design at UniSA, and will be graduating at the end of next year.

I am enthusiastic about every opportunity to learn more about the industry, and driven to achieve consistently improved standards of work. I have high levels of organisation and love to work alongside others in a team environment. Initiative is something I have been complimented on before; I like to think I can bring positive and constructive ideas and creative points of view to any situation. I love what I do and find this reflects strongly in my work ethic and the design solutions I create.

I was lucky enough to participate in work experience at Fusion, a leading design agency based in Adelaide. While placed here I gained valuable knowledge as to the running of a Design studio and every stage of the design process. Having worked as a Barista for a few years, I have gained excellent interpersonal skills. Alongside my natural ease of communication, this means I have become quite affluent in answering phones and in all other aspects of customer relations. This also includes profficient English literacy and language skills.

I currently also work as a freelance graphic designer, doing small design jobs for friends, family, and small businesses. This means I often am required to self manage multiple jobs at one time, as well as my university assignments. My knowledge of the adobe creative suite is naturally always developing as is the nature of the software, however in particular with photoshop and indesign, I find myself to be quite skillful.

Please consider me for the position of Graphic Designer. I would be a valuable addition to your company, if not in this role, then a more junior position. If desired, please look at my portfolio on facebook at the above address.

I hope to hear from you soon.

INVITATION DESIGNThis is an invite for my Mum’s 50th Party. I was inspired by lanterns she bought for the event. I chose the colours to reflect the feel of the party, and the fact that it was held in a garden.

INVITATION DESIGN

INVITATION DESIGNMy friend wanted an invite that was contemporary, clean, and put emphasis on the cover photo he provided me with. I used Photoshop to manipulate the image to suit the invite. I was also inspired by the typeface ‘cheddar jack’, which I felt contributed the balance of ;roughness’ to an otherwise quite formal invitation.

INVITATION DESIGNFor my best friend I wanted to create an invite that embodied her. She required the invite to be based around the colour light blue. As it was a sit down dinner, I wanted the invite to be appropriate for all ages of guests, with information that was easy to understand.
