NATURE ACTIVITIES FROM TURKEY

A SHORT NATURE TRIP

In the beginning of the activity we left them to discover the nature by themselves. They observe and see the differences in the nature.

They collected the pine cones and got some soil for the experiment.

They noticed the resin on the pine tree and also some tasted it.

They listened to a story called ‘Animals in the Jungle’

We also talked about the changes in the trees in autumn. They noticed the colour changes in the leaves.

SOIL EROSION EXPERIMENT

We poured water to see the soil erosion.

The flood effect on planted soil

First we talked about flood and wind effect to the nature.

They noticed that plants and treesreduces the effect of witnd and flood.

We prepared two boxes of soil; one with plants and one without. We used hair-dryer to show the wind effect and water to show the flood effect.

WE COLLECTED THE WASTE BATTERIES

We learnt about he damage of the waste batteries to the soil and sent them to a conservation union.

WE VISITED A RECYCLING CENTER

The children learnt that waste material like

paper, plastic and metal can be recycled.
