The Commerce & Economics departments of Alpha arts and science college (Porur) organised a 2-day workshop on ‘emerging horizons in HR on 17th and 18th of Oct 16.
The first day of workshop was inaugurated by Justice Dr. S. Tamilvannan, Mr. Mohan Fernando (Joint General Manager (HR) L&T), Ms. Adhilakshmi Logamurthy (Advocate and Social Activist), and Dr. Magesh, (Professor, Anna University).
The first session was addressed by V. Kalyanasundaram (Head –HR, Nokia India Ltd.). He shared his expertise on organizational development. The discussion was followed by question answer session. Jayakumar (Professor Anna University) gave a motivational speech with practical examples.

Objective: As Modi government would be shortly completing 30 months after coming to power, Prime Minister Narendra Modi appears to be satisfied about the performance of his government.
Apart from several other assurances, Mr. Narendra Modi’s promise that he would root out corruption impressed the country men most, that facilitated the emergence of his government. Mr. Modi appears to be well aware of this expectation of the country men that he should root out corruption and probably to satisfy this expectation, Mr. Modi has now made the claim that Rupees one lakh crore of black money has been brought back without launching surgical strikes”
It is high time that the student community who represent the future hopes of the country should be given an opportunity to express their views on the overall performance of Modi government.
The views of the students are expected to be objective and well analysed and would be submitted to the Prime Minister for his consideration.
Eligibility:All students studying in under graduate and post
graduate level all over India can participate in the competition.
Other details: The essay can be written in English, Hindi and Tamil and should be of maximum 1500 words.

All India Essay competition for college students
As part of vigilance awareness week, Income Tax Department and Thuvakkam, a Chennai based NGO jointly conducted a Mime titled “Modern Tandora” on Nov. 2 in Marina beach.
A Tandora is an instrument traditionally used to spread news to the public.
Mr.Rathinasamy IRS (Additional Director General Central Board of Direct Taxes) and his team of staffs were present in the campaign.
A team of volunteers enacted a scene showing the life of two families, one leading a normal life following ethics while the other one has a wife who forces her husband to take bribe to satisfy greed. The story takes a turn when a building whose construction was sanctioned by the husband of the greedy wife crumbles down killing all the workers (quoting Moulivakkam tragedy). He is arrested after investigation and his family comes to the street while the other family continues their contended life.
The mime was witnessed by a massive crowd of beach goers and regulars.
