Recognizes and addresses (or reports, as appropriate) safety and security issues; Evaluates the need of each exhibit in regards to restocking and ordering supplies; Contributes ideas to enhance existing programs and exhibits or generate new ideas; Conducts and plans developmentally appropriate programs and activities for groups of children

and accompanying adults; Identifies opportunities for programming and events that support LBCM; Accepts and accurately accounts for revenue through use of the computer and written

documentation;

Accurately documents hours worked in a timely manner; Reports suspicions of child abuse and/or neglect; Performs other related duties as assigned. Assists executive director with projects such to benefit the museum

Has the ability and willingness to travel on an occasional basis for professional growth Has the ability and willingness to work a flexible and varied schedule, including frequent weekend

and occasional evening hours. Salary

$8--$10 per hour, commensurate with education and experience. License/Certification requirements: Satisfactory background check absent convictions for crimes that disqualify the individual for employment in a licensed child care facility in Ohio. Physical Demands: Incumbents must frequently stand, walk, stoop, kneel, bend, and climb stairs. Incumbents frequently lift light to heavy weight (20-75 lbs.). Incumbents are exposed to outside weather conditions although not extreme. Incumbents are exposed to bodily fluids (e.g. diapering equipment, cleaning restrooms). ●Raemelton Therapeutic Equestrian Center is a 501c3 Non-Profit that began in the spring of 1995. RTEC provides Equine Assisted Activities and Therapies for individuals with mental, physical, social, emotional and sensory disabilities. Our first session began with a small group of riders in 1995 and we now serve an average of 85 students per week nine months of the year. RTEC currently offers Therapeutic Riding, Therapeutic Carriage Driving, Hooves for Heroes Veterans Program (for active, in-active or retired Veterans and their families) and the CARE Program (for at risk youth). Our doors are also always open to those who might benefit from just spending time with an equine partner whether it is as a respite from a terminal illness, grief or from some other type of issue. We provide healing through horses.

Pay rate is $10.00 per hour, 30-35 hours per week and will run for approximately 11 weeks beginning in June and ending in August.

●Duties and Responsibilities encompassing two areas:

A.- would involve assisting the barn manager with all aspects of equine care including but not limited to: stall cleaning, grooming, bandaging/wound care, turning out into and bringing in from the pastures, switching out horses/ponies for the farrier and vet, feeding, watering, sweeping the barn aisles, tack and feed rooms, sweeping cobwebs, cleaning stall walls and stall fronts, raking up around the manure bin, the doorways and the exterior of the barns, cleaning water buckets and feed tubs, cleaning tack and equipment, emptying the muck buckets from the indoor and the outdoor arenas etc.. Hours will vary and are available seven days per week.

B.- would involve assisting the Director of Operations and Director of Fundraising/Volunteer Coordinator in the office performing all aspects of general office duties, including but not limited to: updating and purging files, student and, volunteer paperwork, handbooks and, policy manuals, checking that PATH Standards are being followed (e.g. updating First Aid kits in all buildings etc..) Hours will vary and are available Monday through Friday.

The working conditions vary greatly day to day depending on the weather. The intern will need to dress accordingly as we are a working farm and the job may require physical labor in all weather conditions.

RAEMELTON THERAPEUTIC EQUESTRIAN CENTER PROGRAMS

The mission of the Raemelton Therapeutic Equestrian Center is to provide Equine-Assisted Activities and Therapies to individuals with mental, physical, social, emotional and sensory disabilities. Raemelton programs are offered to individuals regardless of their ability to pay for services.

THERAPY RIDING

Horses move four dimensionally – up and down, side to side, back and forth and through space all simultaneously. These planes of movement are transferred up from the horse’s pelvis into the rider’s pelvis and core system. Strengthening of the core muscles provides stability in balance, improves breathability, ambulation and digestion. Research shows that students who participate in therapeutic riding can experience physical, emotional and mental rewards. For individuals with impaired mobility, horseback riding gently and rhythmically moves their bodies in a manner similar to a human walking gait. Individuals with learning or mental disabilities are motivated by riding to increase concentration, patience and discipline. If a psychological or emotional disability is present, the unique relationship formed with a horse can help improve interpersonal relationships. Furthermore, self-esteem and trust are gained through building a relationship with an equine partner – thus promoting leadership and fostering independence.

THERAPY CARRIAGE DRIVING

Many of the same benefits from riding occur in carriage driving. The movement of the carriage and using the reins strengthen core muscles; build upper body and arms, improving stability, balance and breathability. Therapy Carriage Driving is appropriate for those who prefer to drive rather than ride, or cannot easily transfer onto a horse or are over our weight limit of 180#.

CARE-an Equine Facilitated Learning Experience -for youth at risk of not achieving their full potential-

Equine Facilitated Learning (EFL) is an educational approach that incorporates equine facilitated activities using the experience of equine/human interaction in an environment of learning and self-discovery. The goal of Raemelton’s CARE EFL program is to assist individuals with emotional challenges in their lives by creating an avenue for them to develop coping skills and gain life skills. Caring for a horse provides an opportunity for positive social interaction. Learning the respect and control of their horses becomes a valuable first step towards controlling their own lives. The skills that at-risk teens gain through the CARE program are improved communication skills, development of self-confidence and development of healthy and positive relationships. These skills will lead to a road of emotional health and independence. Students in this program gain coping skills by focusing on topics such as: making good life choices, verbal communication and problem solving, coping with depression, nutrition habits and choices, anger management, self-esteem, increased attention span, boundaries and body awareness as well as trust and empathy. **Eligible candidates for this program are: 5-18 years of age with no criminal record. **

Production/Technical Intern Job Description

The Renaissance seeks an undergraduate student for a summer-long internship in Production/Technical Offices.

The position will run from June 1 through August 6, 40 hours per week, Tuesday-Friday inclusive of many

evenings and a few weekends. The internship is paid.

Intern will assist with all aspects of preproduction/production of the 2017 summer musical, The Little Mermaid.

The internship will be extremely hands-on and will be mentored by Renaissance artistic and technical staff. Stage

management and technical theatre duties include:

3. Overseeing all aspects of rehearsal

Richland County Park District Internship

Fran & Warren Rupp Fund - Richland County Foundation Job Description The Richland County Park District internship will allow the intern to immerse themselves in the day-to-day operations and inner workings of a county park district. The intern will work directly with the park director, park board of

trustees, volunteer coordinator, volunteers and others. There will be many opportunities to experience indoor and outdoor activities relating to natural history programming, land management, animal care, administrative duties and much more. OHIO BIRD SANCTUARY EDUCATION INTERNSHIP POSITION

DESCRIPTION:

A part-time, seasonal position under the direction of the

Operations Assistant and Youth Program Coordinator The purpose of

the internship is to provide a hands-on learning opportunity and field related work

experience. The intern provides interpretive programs featuring wildlife, leads interpretive

nature hikes, assists with summer camps and completes an independent project.

Mansfield Church History Museum Researcher

St. Luke’s Point of Grace (PoG)is the location of a large photo image entitled “Mansfield — City of Churches,” depicting a time when 16 churches in close proximity downtown were the major landmarks in the industrializing community.

To enhance that, St. Luke’s PoG will feature a stairway and lobby area showing flat historical displays of each of the churches — independently and intertwined with each other.

The summer intern, a college student working toward a degree related to history, communication, religion or community service, will work 32-40 hours a week at $10 an hour for 10 weeks, interviewing key persons in each of the congregations that have at least 100 years of history in Mansfield in order to obtain images, names, dates and stories that will fit in the overall presentation. These are not comprehensive histories — individual congregations can maintain those — but a seeking out of material that is unique to specific venues, interesting to the general public, and indicative of occasions of cooperation between the churches of Mansfield.

Final result will be artful displays on foam board, plus a presence on an internet venue yet to be determined.

The applicant should have an interest and background in history; communication skills such as interviewing, writing and photo manipulation; faith in its full variety and as it pertains to community life; time management skills and balance to move forward with each congregation’s presentation; promptness and ability to keep a schedule and an drive that allows the embracing of a project.

The intern will work in an office at St. Luke’s that will be primarily theirs, on a Macintosh computer using Pages and iPhoto, although much of the time will be spent in the field — at congregations, and in the Sherman Room at the Public Library. Regular contact with a handful of local historians will also be a benefit of the job.

Supervisor will be Paul Lintern, president of St. Luke’s PoG who will have regular contact but as little ‘over-the-shoulder” supervision as necessary. The intern must embrace an excitement over being a self-starter and independently driven. That in no way implies that the intern will be working strictly on his/her own.

Intern will be a contract employee who will receive a 1099 form at the end of 2017, and will be responsible for his-her own taxes. Payments will be made on the Wednesday following each week of employment.

EDUCATION:

Interns will learn the basics of archival work - the five A’s - acquisition, appraisal, accessioning, arrangement, and

access. Specifically, these include: Principles of provenance and original order, basic conservation skills, preparation of

succinct and informational finding aids, determining the user’s needs through a plan of access, volunteer training and

supervision, and knowledge of genealogy and basic archival procedures. They will also learn the basic of scanning

procedures to provide a means of access through the Internet for these original materials.

SUPERVISION:

The archival processor will work with the librarian and will supervise library volunteers working on archives

projects. The OGS Board of Trustees also has a library advisory committee whose members may provide some supervision

and advice.

SERVICE:

The archival processor and other interns/work-study students/volunteers at the Ohio Genealogical Society Library

will serve the public at large and members of the organization who are tracing family heritage, working on local history

projects, etc. Our goal is to develop an archival processing program with an emphasis on digital access points to educate

the public about our holdings and their past.

OGS currently pays student interns $10/hour for archival processing if grant funding is available. Interns generally work a minimum of

10 hours per week (and up to 40 hours). Hours may be selected but must be within library hours (Mon through Sat, 9 AM to 5 PM).

This part-time internship opportunity is available to college students who have demonstrated

knowledge and interest in education, science, botany, and/or natural history. Suggested majors include

but are not limited to: early, elementary and secondary education; environmental studies; horticultural

The Education Internship program is designed to provide practical experience, with supervision from the

Visitor Services Manager, in environmental/museum education, botany and conservation. This program

also includes the opportunity to gain a broad insight into botanical gardens and the local non-profit

cultural community and how it operates.
