Position: SECRETARY (Part-time) Purpose: Performs a variety of office support, clerical, supervision, and administrative functions in support of the director of religious education as well as the catechists in the program. Direct Supervisor: Director of Religious Education (DRE) Position Duties and Responsibilities of Secretary:

Provide clerical and administrative support to the DRE as well as to the catechists in the religious education program, to include but is not limited to: assisting with record-keeping, typing, and su-pervision of students as needed when Religion classes are in session. Assist the DRE with office duties, to include but not limited to: collecting and maintaining inventory of office supplies, stationery, and the maintenance of electronic filing systems. Generate and modify documents, to include reports and spreadsheets, for the pastor and the DRE. The secretary is responsible for welcoming all parents and registering their children into the pro-gram, answering the phone promptly, and taking messages. Assure the readiness and orderliness of the Religious Education Office area. Must be professional in appearance and in communication with others. Monitor and maintain all office equipment and inventory relevant to the office, and will make the necessary arrangements when service and repair of these machines as needed. Provide routine clerical support to the DRE, to include photocopying, scanning, and faxing. Help promote the safety of all students which include, but not limited to, marking the parking lot with the warning traffic cones, supervising the drop off and pick up of students in the parking lot, and keeping watch over who’s coming in and out of the school building during Religion classes. Perform other duties as assigned by the DRE as needed. Requirements: Education preferred: Associate Degree. One to two years of similar work experience. Bilingual Spanish/English preferred but not required. Practicing Catholic is preferred. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other Office applications. Experience with data collection, data entry, and developing reports. Flexibility according to the DRE’s and the program’s needs. Strong organizational and listening skills. Ability to multitask various duties, possess the demeanor and ability to adjust to situations as they occur, must be able to effectively work as a team member, resolve problems, and show initiative. During the summer months many parishes throughout the country establish a summer schedule for the celebration of Sunday Mass. With the awareness that many parishioners travel during the summer months on vacation, we have decided to establish a summer

schedule of masses for the months of July and August including the Labor Day weekend. The Sunday Mass schedule will be as follows: Saturday at 5:00 pm, Sunday at 9:00 am,

10:30 am, and 12 Noon. This schedule will begin starting July 1-2 weekend. The 7:30 am Mass will start again on Sunday September 10.
