LONG FORMBUT WAIT, THERE’S MORE...

Sometimes when we speak we don’t need to use the noun in a sentence.

Examples: It’s mine. That is yours. Unlike in English, when you want to do this in Spanish you still need to worry about the number and gender.

TO DO THIS ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS REPLACE THE NOUN WITH THE ARTICLE (el, la, los, lash

Ejemplos:

I can’t find my book, can I use yours? --> No puedo encontrar mi libro, puedo usar el tuyo?

I can’t find my books, can I use yours? --> No puedo encontrar mis libros, puedo usar los tuyos?

Is that shoe yours? No, it’s theirs. ---> Es ese zapato tuyo? No, es el suyo.

¡Es el mío!

¡Es el

mío!
