INAUGURATION CEREMONYThe Bahrain International Project Management Convention was inaugurated under the patronage of the Central Bank of Bahrain, attended by H.E the Governor of CBB, Mr. Rasheed Al Maraj, and His Excellency the United States Ambassador William V. Roebuck along with various executives and senior management representing different organizations from all sectors in the kingdom of Bahrain.

The keynote speaker of the convention was the Project Management Expert Eng. Abdul Majeed Al Qassab who highlighted the importance of project management and the significance of this event and its contribution to market dynamics.

The convention included a panel discussion on the importance of Project Management on various aspects of business and its Impact on generating improved results. The panelist were various high key profiles from different sectors. The panel discussion was chaired by Eng. Dheya Tawfiqi, the President of Federation of Arab Engineers and CEO of his consultancy company DETB, along with Eng. Abdul Nabi Al Sabah, the Chief Project Management Office at the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning and an Advisor to H.E the Minister of Works. In addition to, Mr. Abdulelah AlQassimi, The Former Chief Executive of Tamkeen, and Mr. Hassan Jarrar, The Chief Executive Officer of Bahrain Islamic Bank.

Regardless of the profession that you’re in, Project Management is an essential skill which you require to ensure success, drive the project forward and ensure the delivery of all project aspects.

The number of certified professionals are less than the market requirement today. A convention like this will enhance the knowledge and education of project management. I encourage everyone of you to participate.

Project Management is a fundamental thinking process. The BIBF believes strongly in a structured thinking process applied to learning education and development. This convention is an excellent demonstration of that.

Lego Project Management - A Fun Way to Learn Project Management Through this hands-on and fun project management course participants systematically experienced the full project life cycle, from the initiation to the completion phase. Using miniature LEGO® sets, participants worked in teams and developed key project management plans and documents, by leveraging acquired knowledge, applying essential tools and techniques to accurately translate requirements into successful project deliverables.

Managing Project Risks More Efficiently This workshop presented how risk management can be made into an efficient practice while managing projects. It introduced concepts and tools that are designed to help in identifying, managing and tracking project risks in a relevant and timely manner.

Running and Managing Efficient Project Meetings This workshop introduced ways that helped participants improve the outcomes of their project and business meetings with project and business stakeholders, staff and external contractors.

BICYCLE TEAM BUILDING GAME HIGHLIGHTS

Project Management Team Building Game: Concluding the month-long convention, the Bahrain International Project Management Convention Team Building Game presented the first of its kind competition of assembling bicycles using the project management methods which were learnt during the workshops.

Teams from various organizations competed against each other to assemble bicycles based on a specific criteria while applying the project management concepts learned in class to produce the final deliverables.

Each team donated their assembled bicycles to Al-Sanabel Orphans Care Society. This initiative lied within the comprehensive message and strategic goal of the convention, which was to connect, collaborate, and contribute as teams connected with each other collaborated to manage projects effectively and contributed to the enhancement of project deliverables reaching strategic organizational goals. The donation is a part of the BIBF and participated organization’s corporate social responsibility approach that aims to take responsibility for the organization’s effects on environmental and social wellbeing.
