Administration / Finance Officer: Lisieux Catholic Primary School Torquay

Role Description

This senior administration position has a key role to play in the School at the operational level. The role is vital to the efficient and smooth running of the School on a day to day basis, providing high quality administrative support to the role of the Principal at the school. The position reports to the Principal, exercising substantial responsibility and working with general direction and using discretion and judgement in planning. Duties include management of a comprehensive computerised administrative system for student records; financial management and reporting; accounting; payroll and human resources; personnel records, asset management, office coordination, efficient administrative services and clerical support and a component of front reception duties. Lisieux Catholic Primary School will use the Integrated Catholic Online System (ICON) and any previous experience will be highly regarded. Key Selection Criteria:

1. A strong commitment to and support of Catholic Education and Catholic Identity2. Excellent customer service and well developed oral and written communication and

relationship management skills.3. Sound organisational and time management skills.4. High level experience and knowledge of financial management within a school (ie:

budget preparation and management, Financial reporting and planning, Audit requirements, Accounts payable and receivable, BAS, bank reconciliation)

5. Proficiency in payroll and HR (ie: Payroll processing, Superannuation, Employee leave, ATO, Workcover)

6. High level organizational and administration skills in supporting the Principal in the management of compliance (ie: Child Safe Standards, OH&S, Volunteers, Parents and Friends, School Advisory Board, Maintenance and other school operations, including preparation of documentation)

7. Competent computer and technology skills and knowledge of accounting software and skills in the use of spreadsheets, databases and desktop publishing.

8. Assist the Principal and School Accountant with the preparation/process of the annual recurrent budgets in the school

9. Calculating staffing online with Global Budget

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Relevant qualification in Accounting, or demonstrated record of adopting a consultative and

innovative approach in the delivery of accounting, financial and administrative management services.

HIGHLY DESIRABLE

Recent experience working in a primary school office.
