Analyzed period: January 2014 – April 2015
Dark posts not included
REACH OVERVIEW
Facebook algorythm differently treats Brands and Media
Media can post much more frequently without significant loss of organic reach
Brands use in their communiation paid post promotion much more often than media
ENGAGEMENT OVERVIEW
At least one post a day should aid in building brand awareness
The first post of the day “wins” the biggest engagement
Consecutive posts engage gradually less and less fans to finally reach zero.
SUMMARY & TIPS
Media profiles are posting, on average, more often than Brands
If you’re running a Brand fan page, you shouldn’t publish more than 2-3 posts a day.
For those who are running a Media profile – don’t stop after a few posts.
If your goal is to engage fans, there’s no point in littering up their News Feed.
