Town & Country Credit Union has been named a Champion of Affordable housing by the North dakota housing Finance Agency (NdhFA).“The Champion awards recognize and celebrate the work of individuals, non-profit organizations, public agencies, and private sector businesses that make exceptional affordable housing contributions in North dakota,” said Jolene kline, NdhFA executive director. The award was announced during the NdhFA Statewide housing Conference in February. This is the third time that Town & Country Credit Union has received this recognition. The Champions of Affordable housing awardees are selected based on market penetration and loan production, special programs used, their portfolio performance and loan quality. “We take great pride in again receiving this recognition from the NdhFA. our mortgage team consists of experienced professionals who make it their life’s work to provide financing solutions for members within the communities we serve,” commented darrell olson, President and CEo of Town & Country Credit Union.

Thank you to the more than 300 members who made plans to attend the 78th annual meetings in Fargo and Minot. This year’s meeting featured a Chairman of the Board Report by Chairman Gordon olson, a Presidents Report by President/CEo, darrell olson and the results of the contested board member election.Chairman olson opened his report by sharing a quote by philosopher William James who said, “New ideas are first condemned as ridiculous, then they are dismissed as trivial, then finally they become what everyone knows.” Chairman olson related this quote to the proposed merger with Capital Credit Union and technology. he went on to explain that the Board of directors have signed a pre-merger agreement with Capital Credit Union and are seriously considering a merger. The merger process will first include a time of

due diligence, if all goes well the membership will then receive notification of a special meeting to discuss the merger and have a vote. he directed members to the Town & Country Credit Union website for more information. Next he talked about the credit union’s continued advancement in technologies. In 2016, the credit union launched a mobile app allowing members to complete many of the transactions that they would normally have done in a physical branch location. he commented on the efficiencies that are gained by members utilizing the mobile app instead of coming into a location. during President olson’s report he took the time to explain the important role that Town & Country Credit Union and its members play in the legislative process.
