However, three of those losses have come against ranked opponents as well as a double-overtime loss to Hartford to start the 2003-04 season.

Home Openers- The Red Foxes are looking to earn their second consecutive home opener victory on Friday. Marist defeated Vermont in last seasons home opener, 66-45.- Since Giorgis’ arrival at Marist, the Red Foxes are 8-3 in their first game at McCann

Captains- The trio of senior guards Casey Dulin (Milford, Conn.), Leanne Ockenden (Syracuse, N.Y.), and forward Emma O’Connor (Lynbrook, N.Y.) will lead the 2013-14 Marist squad.- Giorgis on his three captains: “Casey, Leanne, and Emma are outstanding leaders and the core of our 2013-14 team. They have been tremendous assets to our program the last three years. I am confident they will provide the leadership necessary to help us achieve our goals for this season.”

Going For Ten- In the 2013 MAAC Preseason Coaches’ Poll, Marist was the unanimous choice to take first place, earning 121 points. Iona was second, receiving 106 points, followed by Quinnipiac with 102.- If Marist wins the MAAC Championship title this season, it will be its tenth overall and ninth consecutive championship title, winning in 2004 and 2006-2013.

Three Named Preseason All-MAAC- This is the seventh consecutive year the Red Foxes have had three or more players select-ed to the Preseason All-MAAC Teams.- Senior guard Casey Dulin was named to the Preseason First Team All-MAAC.- Senior guard Leanne Ockenden was named to the Preseason Second Team All-MAAC following the 2012-13 season in which she was named MAAC Defensive Player of the Year.- Senior forward Emma O’Connor was named to the Preseason Third Team All-MAAC.
