Bubukal Elementary School in FULL SWING for Brigada Eskwela 2014!

The Department of Education led by Secretary Armin Luistro has scheduled the conduct of the Brigada Eskwela 2014 also known as the National Schools Maintenance Week from May 19 to 24, 2014. This school maintenance effort engages all education stakeholders to contribute their time, effort and resources in ensuring that the public school facilities are ready in time for the opening of classes on June 2.

Education Secretary Br. Armin A. Luistro mentioned that for this year, the Brigada Eskwela effort will focus on making schools disaster-ready, and on developing disaster-resilient school communities.

The Brigada Eskwela is a nationwide voluntary effort which started in 2003, which showcases the Filipino bayanihan spirit, continues to  draw supporters from various sectors generating  millions- worth of volunteer man-days, labor support, and donations-in-kind  saving the schools from maintenance and operating expenses.

Bubukal Elementary School headed by Mr. Carlito F. Ramos aims to prepare the school, both classrooms and the entire facilities for next month’s school opening. This is also one way of encouraging the community’s and the parents’ participation in preparing their children’s place for learning and to promote a safe school environment.

Teamwork bound the faculty and all volunteers to accomplish the VISION of this year’s BRIGADA ESKWELA. No one was left behind but rather WORKED as one.
