    PITCH HIRE AGREEMENT

    This is an agreement for the hire of sports facilitiesbetween Powerplay Team Sports Ltd (the“Organisers”, We, Us) and the following Club: {ClubName} (the “Club”, You). We do not accept bookerson any other terms. These Conditions do not affect

    your statutory rights.

    LEAGUE AND PLAYING RULESARE AVAILABLE SEPARATELYON OUR WEBSITE.

    1. On behalf of Your Club You agree to a minimumof 10 weeks pitch hire at {£see agreement}per session.

    2. This is a binding agreement for a series of letsunder which the pitch hire fee for the wholeseries is payable whether the club uses itssessions or not.

    3. Payment in full in advance is preferred by theOrganisers, though payment by regularinstalments is acceptable.

    4. To facilitate a regular on-going hire, theOrganisers will send the Club a further 10 weekhire agreement towards the expiry of this series.If You do not wish to enter that agreement,please inform Us. You must provide two weeks’notice prior to the commencement of a series

    to terminate it. Otherwise We will assume youwish to enter a further 10 week agreement.

    5. This hire agreement is in respect the sameactivity at the same location, being {venue}.Moving venues mid-series will not bepermitted.

    6. The interval between each hire must be not lessthan one day and not more than 14 days.

    7. Each session is for {minutes}. During yoursession your Club will have exclusive use of thepitch and is not obliged to share use of thepitch.

    LEAGUE SERVICES AGREEMENT

    This is an agreement for League Services betweenPowerplay Team Sports Ltd (the “Organisers”, We, Us)and the following Club and Participants: {Club} (the“Club”, You, Participant/s). We do not acceptparticipants on any other terms. These Conditionsdo not affect your statutory rights.

    1. CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION

    1.1 When a Club joins the Organiser’s league either by phone, internet or post they are forming a

    contract subject to these terms with the

    Organisers for League Services.1.2 Participants agree to abide by the League and

    Playing Rules as published on the website andsent to the nominated captain upon entry andfrom time to time.

    1.3 The Organisers will register this Club to theappropriate body governing our sport,(Football: the Football Association, Netball:England Netball).

    1.4 A Club shall always be automatically enteredinto a new league season at the expiry of theprevious season unless notice of withdrawalhas been served by the club captain.

    1.5 The Organisers reserve the right to refuse entryof any Participant, Club or Organisation from its

    competition without giving a reason; orexclude any Participant, Club or Organisationfrom its competition for breaches of theseterms or of the Playing Rules or in respect ofany misconduct whatsoever by its Club,participants or supporters or associates ofthe same.

    2. CLUB DEPOSIT

    2.1 Clubs may be asked to pay a refundableattendance deposit to enter the Organiser’scompetition.

    2.2 The Organisers may deduct any fees owingfrom the Club deposit.

    2.3 To ensure the deposit is fully refunded, ensurethat all fees and compensation owing havebeen paid and that the withdrawal procedureas set out below is followed.

    3. FEES

    3.1 The League Services Fee (LSF) is currently {£ see agreement} per week though this may change

    from time to time. The LSF is payable inadvance for the whole series or at the very leastbefore the game commences. The LSF is subject

    to VAT and a VAT invoice or receipt is available

    on request.3.2 Clubs can pay the LSF in advance via the

    website, or pay on the night via credit cardor cash.

    3.3 If the full LSF is not received before the game,for any reason, the Organisers shall implementthe ‘No Pay - No Result’ procedure.Furthermore, the full LSF will be deducted fromthe holding deposit.

    3.4 If a club is affected by the ‘No Pay - No Result’procedure they shall have any goals scoredremoved and the result awarded to theiropposition.

    3.5 Any club that pay their LSF by cheque which isthen declined by the bank, shall incur anadditional £10 administration fee. This shall bedetailed on the club account statement, the LSFshown as underpaid and the ‘No Pay - NoResult’ procedure implemented.

    3.6 Failure to pay fees shall be deemed a breach ofcompetition rules and the Organisers reservethe right to remove the Club from thatcompetition.

    3.7 The Club captain is responsible for all Clubunderpayments and LSF arrears. Any monies

    owed which are not covered by the Clubdeposit shall be collected via the credit carddetails held on le from previous transactionswith The Organisers. This will be done any timeafter the event in question, usually the next day.

    Also, monies may be collected from the Club by The Organisers or an appointed agency.

    3.8 Any Club that leaves the competition witharrears greater than the original deposit may bebanned from sanctioned sport by thesanctioning body such as the FA or EnglandNetball.

    3.9 The Organisers reserve the right to withholdany trophies or medals from clubs that have

    monies owing from debt accrued throughoutany season(s).

    3.10 Clubs that have not registered the minimumnumber of players may be charged a £2 pergame surcharge. This surcharge can be avoidedat any time by registering players online, bypost or by phone.

    3.11 A match official will be arranged on behalf ofyour Club and the opposing team by theOrganisers. A fee of {£C} per game is payableby the Club and the opposing team directly tothe match official. The Club is responsible forthe fee, but on request this will be collectedfrom your Club by the Organisers and passedon to the official on Your behalf after the gameso as not to interrupt the xtures. OtherwiseYou must pay your share to the match officialdirectly. Where match officials work in pairs, the

    gure quoted is per pair.

    4. ABSENCES

    4.1 If a Club is absent for a xture without givingproper notice the opposition shall be awardedthe game. Absence is dened in the playingRules.

    4.2 If a Club is absent no supply or sale is made.However, the Club hereby agrees that it will paycompensation for breach of contract of thisagreement. The sum will be the LSF plus £5penalty, payable by noon the following day.Failure to pay may result in deduction from theattendance deposit or the nominated creditcard.

    4.3 If a Club gives proper notice, it is agreed thatthe compensation payment will be reduced by£15. Proper notice requires the Club to registerthe absence by phone or online by noon on theday of the absence. This must be accompaniedby payment of the reduced compensation. Thisdiscount reects the benets to the organisersof being informed of absences in advance.

    5. LEAVING PROCEDURE

    5.1 A Club can only leave the league structure atthe end of a published season.

    5.2 To withdraw from the league the Club captainmust give at least two (2) weeks notice beforethe end of that current published season.

    5.3 The Club must then full the remainder of thatseason’s xtures, and shall be withdrawn beforethe new season commences. They maycontinue to use any pitch hire bookings outsidethe league structure to the extent that thesewere made under a separate contractualagreement.

    5.4 The Club can only withdraw via phone on0844 745 2020. This is so that the nal positioncan be discussed and agreed.

    5.5 Any Club that leaves the league without thetwo (2) weeks notice or before the end of aseason, shall forfeit their Club deposit. Twoweeks LSF will remain payable in full. If a Club is

    removed for bad behaviour or disciplinaryreasons, the deposit is strictly non-returnable.

    5.6 Any Club that leaves with monies owed greaterthan the original Club deposit, shall have thosearrears collected by The Organisers or anappointed agency and may also be bannedfrom all sanctioned sport by the sanctioningbody. The registered captain at the time of theClub withdrawal shall be wholly responsible forthese monies on behalf of the Club.

    5.7 The Club captain consents that if outstanding

    monies for the Club remain unpaid fourteendays after leaving the league, The Organisershave permission to collect the fees owing fromthe credit card details held on le from previous

    transactions with The Organisers.

    5.8 If a Club leaves the league following the correctprocedures as stated above, the deposit, (minusany LSF or Pitch Hire Fees underpaymentsdeducted, if applicable), shall be returned viabank transfer.

    5.9 The payment shall be made to the registeredClub captain at the time of withdrawal.

    6. HEALTH & SAFETY

    6.1 All participants understand that these eventsare contact sports and contain an element ofrisk to the person participating.

    6.2 The Organisers takes care to select suitable andsafe venues and able officials. But allparticipants agree and understand that TheOrganisers do not own or have exclusiveoccupation of premises used for CompetitionFixtures, have little or no control in respect ofpersons admitted to premises (including

    adjacent sports pitches and surroundingperimeters) during Competitions and have littleor no control as to how premises are used andleft before and / or after Competitions.

    6.3 Club Captains are responsible for ensuring thatthey do not allow their club Participants tocommence a game until and unless satisedthat the surface and other conditions are safefor the activity in question having due regard tothe characteristics of their club Participants.

    6.4 Participants must report to The Organisers atthe earliest opportunity any perceived dangers,violence (or threats of the same), or any other

    misconduct of whatever type.

    7. LIABILITY/BREACH

    7.1 The Organiser shall provide its services withreasonable skill and care and to a reasonablestandard.

    7.2 In so far as The Organisers is in breach of theagreement and the breach is capable of remedy,

    The Organisers will use its very best efforts toprovide a solution mutually acceptable to TheOrganisers and the participant.

    7.3 Notwithstanding the above, in the event of TheOrganisers:• 7.3.1 breaching the agreement or committing

    any tort, including the negligence ornegligent misstatement of its servant oragents; and / or

    • 7.3.2 being in any breach of any statutory orcommon law duty of care will have noliability to Participants save that TheOrganisers will indemnify the Participant inrespect of any death or personal injurycaused thereby and in respect of which nolimitation or exclusion is intended;

    CAPTAIN’S ROLE

    As the team captain you are agreeing to the PlayingRules and Terms of Conditions of Business for thePowerplay league as set out below and on thewebsite. It is the responsibility of the captain to bethe primary contact for the team and all players

    involved. By allowing a player to take part in a club’smatch, you are conrming that a player is aware ofand will abide by these rules.

    1. JOINING

    1.1 When a team joins a Powerplay league theyare committing to the duration of one entireseason, or a period of 10 weeks, whicheveris longer.

    1.2 A team shall always be automaticallyentered into the next season unless formalnotice of withdrawal has been served by the

    team captain.

    2. PLAYER REGISTRATION& ELIGIBILITY

    2.1 All new clubs shall be given a TeamRegistration form prior to their rst matchnight. Football - Teams of mixed gender arenot allowed under FA rules

    2.2 The captain must ensure that all playershave completed this form and handed thesheet to a Powerplay representative, or sentthe form to the Organisers office, or

    submitted it via the website.2.3 Players may only be registered for one club

    in each sanctioned competition, and mustbe aged 16 or over.

    2.4 Players can join the team at any pointthroughout a season. To register the playereither give the details to the Powerplayrepresentative or submit the details via thewebsite. This must be done before theplayer participates.

    2.5 If a player wishes to transfer to anotherclub, they must rst resign from their rstclub and re-register for the new club usingthe above procedures.

    2.6 Teams that have not registered theminimum number of players will be charged

    a £2 per game surcharge. This surchargecan be avoided at any time by registeringplayers online, by post or by phone.

    2.7 Team Registration forms cannot besubmitted at the event. They should beposted to Head Office directly.

    2.8 We may contact you via email, post, phoneor SMS to inform you about matchcancellations, changes to xtures, rulechanges or other matters relating to theleague.

    2.9 We may also contact you during or onceyou have left the league to keep youinformed of our services and to offer you

    other opportunities in your area. If you donot wish to receive these communications,you can unsubscribe at any time byemailing [email protected]

    3. PAYMENTS

    3.1 The team match fee shall be determined byPowerplay, this may change from time totime. The match fees are payable before thegame commences.

    3.2 Teams can pay match fees in advance viathe website, iPhone or Android App or pay

    on the night by cash. No cheques accepted.3.3 If the full match fee is not received,

    Powerplay shall implement the ‘No Pay – No Result’ procedure. Furthermore, the match

    fee will be deducted from the holdingdeposit.

    These League Rules and Playing Rules shall be overridden by the ‘Terms and Conditions of Business’ whichshall always prevail in the event of any dispute, ambiguity or inconsistency.

    3.4 If a team is affected by the ‘No Pay – NoResult’ procedure they shall have any goalsscored removed by the organisers and theresult awarded to their opposition.Furthermore, a one point deduction may bemade and an administration fee (currently£5) will be charged to the team’s holding

    deposit.3.5 Failure to pay fees on any occasion shall be

    deemed a breach of competition rules andthe organisers reserve the right to removethe team from that competition.

    3.6 The team captain is responsible for all teamunderpayments and match fee arrears. Anymonies owed which are not covered by theoriginal team deposit shall be collectedfrom credit card details held on le fromprevious transactions with Powerplay. Thismay be done any time after the end of theevent in question, normally the next day.

    3.7 Where a team pays by company invoice thecaptain is responsible for ensuring paymentis made in full prior to the start date of theCompetition. In the event of receipt ofinvoice after the Competition start date thecaptain must ensure payment is receivedwithin 7 days.

    3.8 Any team that leaves the competition witharrears greater than the original depositmay be banned from sanctioned football bythe sanctioning County FA. Furthermore,outstanding debts may be transferred to anappointed agency. By entering a team, thecaptain agrees to this responsibility.

    3.9 Powerplay reserve the right to withhold anytrophies from teams that have moniesowing from debt accrued throughout anyseason(s).

    3.10 A match official will be made available bythe Organisers. An appropriate proportionof the fee collected from your team will bepassed on to the official on your behalf bythe Organisers.

    4. DEPOSITS

    4.1 Teams may be asked to pay a refundableattendance team deposit to enter aPowerplay competition. The deposit ispayable once and shall be held on theteam’s account.

    4.2 We operate a 30-day commitment policy.Once you have joined we will start yourteam in your chosen league within 30 days.

    4.3 When we start your team in the league,your xtures will be published on thewebsite and you will be notied of yourstart date by SMS only. This is the onlynotication you will receive, so please beready to start at any time within 30 days.

    4.4 Powerplay may deduct fees owing from the

    team deposit.4.5 To ensure the deposit is fully refunded,

    teams must ensure that all match fees andother charges or compensation has beenpaid and that the withdrawal procedurebelow is followed.

    5. INSURANCE

    5.1 All participants are advised that Powerplayis unable to provide personal injuryinsurance or player-to-player insurance. You

    are advised to purchase this as a team or

    individually.

    6. LEAVING

    6.1 A team can only leave at the end of aseason.

    6.2 To withdraw from the league the teamcaptain MUST give at least two (2) weeksnotice before the end of that currentseason.

    6.3 The team must then full the remainder ofthat season’s xtures, and shall bewithdrawn beforethe new seasoncommences.

    6.4 The team can only give notice bytelephoning 0844 745 2020 so that theirposition can be discussed and agreed.Notice cannot be submitted via email or atan event.

    6.5 Any team that leaves the league without thetwo (2) weeks notice or before the end of aseason, shall forfeit their team deposit. Thetwo weeks fees remain payable in full. If ateam is removed for disciplinary reasons orbad behaviour, the deposit is strictly

    non-returnable.6.6 Any team that leaves with monies owed

    greater than the original team deposit shallhave those arrears collected by Powerplayor an appointed agency and may also bebanned from all sanctioned sport by thesanctioning body. The registered captain atthe time of the team withdrawal shall bewholly responsible for these monies.

    6.7 The team captain consents that ifoutstanding monies for the team remainunpaid fourteen days after leaving theleague, Powerplay have permission tocollect the fees from the credit card detailsheld on le from previous transactions withPowerplay.

    6.8 If a team leaves the league following thecorrect procedures as stated above, thedeposit, (minus any match feeunderpayments deducted, if applicable),shall be returned via a cheque. This doesnot include match fees paid in advancewhich are non-returnable.

    6.9 The cheque shall be made out to theregistered team captain or nominatedcompany name at the time of withdrawaland sent to the address as per the recordsheld by Powerplay.

    SMALL-SIDED FOOTBALL

    7. LEAGUE FORMAT

    7.1 The competition shall be played on a leaguebasis. The league shall consist of one ormore divisions containing several teams.

    7.2 Matches shall be played on one nominatedday every week. Teams shall play each other

    once or twice over a period of severalweeks. Three points shall be awarded for awin and one point for a draw.

    7.3 The Organisers may change the matchnight, times, venue or playing format whereit is to the advantage of the league.

    7.4 All Powerplay venues are non-smoking, thisincludes spectators.

    8. PROMOTION & RELEGATION

    8.1 At the end of the season the one or twohighest ranked teams in each division(except the top division) shall be promotedto the division above.

    8.2 In the event of two or more teams beingequal on points, the team with the best goaldifference shall take precedence. In theevent of the goal difference also beingequal, the goals scored shall takeprecedence.

    8.3 At the end of the season one or two lowestranked teams in each division shall berelegated to the division below.

    8.4 The winners of each division at everypromotion/relegation phase shall beawarded a trophy and/or associated prizes,which may be kept indenitely.

    8.5 At the organiser’s discretion, trophies,mementos or medals shall be awarded toteams and players within winning teams.These must be claimed via the websitesubject to all team fees and playerregistrations being in order.

    8.6 Powerplay reserve the right to amend theleague structure and format includingpromotions and relegations.

    9. FIXTURES

    9.1 Fixtures shall be created by Powerplay andwhere possible teams shall be given the fullrange of xture times.

    9.2 Fixtures for the entire season shall be postedon the web site at least 48 hours before therst game of the season.

    9.3 Once xtures have been created these shallnot be amended or re-arranged unlessdetermined by Powerplay if it benets theleague.

    9.4 Once a season is completed, promotionsand relegations shall be made, the newxtures generated and the new season shallstart the following week. There are nopauses between seasons unless determinedin advance by Powerplay.

    9.5 Fixtures are available via the web site or App.9.6 Full details are found on

    10. ABSENCES

    10.1 If a team is absent for a xture withoutgiving proper notice the opposition shall beawarded the game.

    10.2 Where a team is absent for 2 xtures duringthe competition, Powerplay reserve theright to remove the team from thecompetition and withhold the team deposit,

    which shall be forfeit.

    10.3 If a team has no opposition as they areabsent, to claim the points they must beavailable to play and have paid the relevantmatch fee. If this is not the case than theyshall be also deemed as absent.

    10.4 If a team is late by more than 5 minutes ordo not have enough players they aredeemed to be absent.

    10.5 If a team is absent, no supply or sale ismade. However, the team hereby agreesthat it will pay compensation for breach ofthis agreement.

    10.6 Where a team pays by invoice and cancelswith less than 28 days’ notice they may beliable for the opposition’s match fee.

    10.7 Failure to pay will result in the attendancedeposit or nominated credit card beingcharged or an invoice being raised.

    10.8 If a team pays at the event and gives propernotice, it is agreed that the compensationpayment will be reduced by £15. Propernotice requires a team to inform theOrganisers of their forthcoming absencebefore NOON on the day of the xture, overthe phone or website. This must beaccompanied by payment of compensationat the DISCOUNTED rate. This discount

    reects the benets to the Organisers ofbeing informed of absences in advance.

    10.9 Premier Venue - The Team Manager mustinform Powerplay if a team is going tocancel a xture, if this is done with 28 days’or less notice the team is liable for their ownmatch fee as well as that of the opposition.

    10.10 Premier Venues - If a team cancels withmore than 28 days notice they will lose thegame 3-0 and still be liable for your matchfee but not the opposition’s. Continuedcancellations may result in your expulsionfrom the league and also in the team not

    being invited back for future seasons.10.11 Premier Venue - In the event of a ‘no

    show’ where the team does not arrive at thedesignated time and prepared to playwithout informing Powerplay or theopposition by 4pm on the day of thecompetition (or by 4pm Friday if thecompetition is on Saturday or Sunday) thenthe Team Manager will be ned one furthermatch fee plus £30.

    11. ABANDONED GAMES

    11.1 In all cases where Powerplay is satised thata game has been abandoned through thefault of one of the teams, the match shall beawarded to their opponents.

    11.2 A maximum of 3 points may be deductedfrom the total gained by any club foundresponsible for causing the match to beabandoned as a result of the conduct of itsplayers/officials.

    11.3 In the event of a game being abandonedthrough any extreme cause which is beyondthe control of both teams, one point shall beawarded to each team. However, where it isconsidered the outcome would be fairer, theOrganisers may order the score at the timeof the abandonment to be recorded as the

    result.

    12. NUMBER OF PLAYERS

    12.1 The number of players is stipulated on thewebsite for each individual league with afurther maximum of 3 substitutes.

    12.2 The number of players allowed in yoursquad is unlimited, however all players must

    be registered to your team before they play.

    12.3 A game will be abandoned and awarded tothe opposition if the team is unable to eldthe minimum required number of playersfrom the start of play or during.

    13. SECONDARY COMPETITIONS

    13.1 Where there is a Player of the Seasoncompetition the award will be given to theplayer with the most Player of the Matchnominations. If two or more players areequal in Player of the Match nominationsthen the Player of the Season will bedecided by the referees after consultationwith the league manager.

    13.2 Where there is a Golden Boot competitionthe award will be given to the player whoscores the most goals in a season. If two ormore players are equal on goals scored atthe end of the season then the player withthe most man of the match nominationswill win the Golden Boot.

    14. DISCIPLINARY

    14.1 Powerplay operates it’s competition understrict guidelines with regards to disciplineand misconduct.

    14.2 If in the opinion of Powerplay the conduct

    of any club or player brings the competitioninto disrepute, Powerplay reserve the rightto report the player and club to thesanctioning association for disciplinaryaction in pursuance of rule 25 or anysuccessor provision.

    14.3 Powerplay reserves the right to prohibit anyplayer or team from taking part temporarilyor permanently in this or othercompetitions due to misconduct of anykind.

    14.4 During a game the referee may award a blue or red card depending on the severity of

    misconduct.14.5 If a blue card is awarded the player shall be

    temporarily suspended from play.

    14.6 During the suspension a player must stay offthe eld of play behind his own goal, thisshall be deemed as the ‘sin bin’.

    14.7 The referee shall inform the player when thesuspension is over.

    14.8 The period of suspension shall be 5 minutesunless the match length is under 35 minutesduration when the suspension shall be4 minutes.

    14.9 If a player receives 2 blue cards in the samegame he shall not take any further part inthe game.

    14.10 If a red card is awarded the offending playershall not be allowed to take further part inthe match and shall be suspended fromPowerplay for a minimum of 1 match.

    14.11 There are various red card offences whichcarry heavier suspensions from thePowerplay competition:

    MISCONDUCT DEALT WITH BY

    POWERPLAY ONLY (1 Match Ban).- Receiving a 2nd blue card.- Denying an obvious goal scoring opportunity

    by physical means or by deliberately handlingthe ball.

    - Use of offensive or insulting or abusive language /gestures, not to a match official.

    MISCONDUCT DEALT WITH BYTHE SANCTIONING COUNTY FAAll other red card offences shall be dealt with thesanctioning County FA.

    14.12 Any suspension awarded by Powerplay shall

    affect this competition only.14.13 Any suspensions awarded by the

    sanctioning County FA shall affect allfootball competitions including Powerplay.

    14.14 County FA suspensions may or may not runat the same time as Powerplay suspensions.

    14.15 Players and officials are reminded that theRules and Regulations of The FA and thesanctioning County FA allow for nes to beimposed as a result of misconduct.

    14.16 Players should refer to the rules of The FAfor a full explanation of all playing rules.

    15. RIGHT OF APPEAL

    15.1 Any appeal against a decision of Powerplaymust be made to the sanctioning County FA

    in accordance with the appropriate rules ofthe association. An appeal fee may apply.

    16. SANCTION & AFFILIATION

    16.1 The competition shall be called thePowerplay league.

    16.2 The competition shall run between July 1stand June 30th of each year.

    16.3 The competition organiser shall bePowerplay, Unit 6,Ringwood Trading Est,Ringwood , Hampshire, BH24 3BB.

    16.4 The competition shall be governed inaccordance with the Rules and Regulationsof The FA and the relevant sanctioningCounty FA.

    16.5 Matches shall be played in accordance withthe Laws of Small Sided Football as laiddown by The FA and set out within theserules/provided alongside them.

    16.6 The relevant County FA shall sanction thecompetition.

    16.7 The competition, all clubs, players and otherassociated persons shall be subject to theRules and Regulations of The FA and the

    sanctioning County FA.16.8 The relevant sanctioning County FA shall

    deal in accordance with breaches of theLaws of the Game/Laws for Small SidedFootball and the Rules and Regulations ofthe Football Association.

    16.9 The Organiser may amend these rules atany time giving seven days’ notice via emailor letter to the team captain.

    16.10 A person who is not a referee (as recognised by the Football Association) may carry out

    the duties of a Match Official in a specic

    match where a qualied referee cannot befound.

    16.11 Powerplay shall affiliate centrally with theFootball Association a number of ‘teamslots’ on an annual basis.

    16.12 The number of ‘team slots’ affiliated shallequate to the number of teams participating

    in a competition.

    16.13 Powerplay can change the teamsparticipating in a competition but shallalways stay within the actual number of‘team slots’ affiliated to the sanctioningCounty FA.

    11-A-SIDE FOOTBALL

    Where not stipulated below all conditions are assmall-sided.

    17. GENERAL

    17.1 11-a-side team consists of a minimum of 7and a maximum of 15 players, 11 of whichmay be on the pitch at any one time.

    18. REFEREE PAYMENT

    18.1 Team captains are responsible for thecorrect payment directly to the matchofficial BEFORE the start of the game.

    SMALL-SIDED FOOTBALL

    1. DURATION

    1.1 All matches consist of 2 halves, usually of14 to 20 minutes duration (check withPowerplay for specic durations).

    1.2 The half time interval shall be a maximumof 1 minute duration. Half time may bedispensed with at the Organiser’s discretion.

    2. START OF PLAY & BREAKS IN PLAY

    2.1 At the beginning of the game the choice ofends is decided by the match official. Wherethere is no half-time choice of ends shallrest with the rst named team on thexture list.

    2.2 If a ball crosses the side line or it hits thefence above a kick board, a throw in is

    awarded to the opposing team.2.3 To return the ball into play the player must

    deliver the ball underarm and under kneeheight. The ball must go in a horizontal ordownward direction.

    2.4 A foul throw shall be called if the ballreaches above knee height or is notunderarm.

    2.5 If a ball crosses the goal line by thedefending team where it is not a goal, acorner kick shall be awarded. If the ballcrosses the goal line by the attacking team,a Goal Kick shall be awarded.

    2.6 The opposition must be a minimum of TWO METRES from a throw in or a corner kick.

    2.7 There is no offside. Players may placethemselves in any part of the playing areawithout any restriction, including thegoal areas.

    2.8 When a player is taking a free kick, theopposition shall be a minimum distance ofTWO METRES from the ball until it is in play.

    2.9 All free kicks that happen around the goalarea must be a minimum distance of 1mfrom the goal area.

    2.10 A penalty kick shall be taken from thepenalty mark or from the edge of the areadirectly in line with the centre of the goal.

    2.11 A goal cannot be scored directly from a

    throw in.2.12 In most leagues there are no restrictions on

    players entering the goal areas. However,where there is a restriction the followingapplies:

    2.12.1 If an attacker enters the penalty area then afree kick is awarded to the opposing team2 meters outside the penalty area.

    2.12.2 If a defender enters the penalty area then apenalty kick will be awarded against them.

    2.12.3 Goalkeepers may not leave the penalty area.If they do so then a penalty is awarded to

    the opposition unless the goal keeper’smomentum has carried him/her out of thearea while making a save.

    2.13 In most leagues there is no head heightrestriction. However, where there is arestriction the following applies:

    2.13.1 If the ball goes over head height then a freekick is awarded to the opposition.

    2.13.2 If the ball is saved by the keeper, hits thecross bar or post and goes over head heightthen the goalkeeper retains possession.

    2.13.3 A player is not permitted to use his head to

    play the ball.

    3. THE GOAL KEEPER

    3.1 The goal keeper is allowed out of his goalarea. Once he has crossed onto the outeld,he shall be treated as a normal player.

    3.2 The goal keeper cannot take the ball backinto his area from the outeld.

    These League Rules and Playing Rules shall be overridden by the ‘Terms and Conditions of Business’ whichshall always prevail in the event of any dispute, ambiguity or inconsistency.

    3.3 In most leagues there is no restriction onthe goalkeeper using feet in the area duringactive play. This includes returning the ballinto play using a kick. However, where thereis a restriction the following applies:

    3.3.1 Goal keepers may save with their feet butmay not pass or clear with their feet.

    3.3.2 Infringement will result in a free kick2 metres outside the area.

    3.4 If the goalkeeper chooses to return the ballusing a throw, it must be thrown underarmand under knee height in a horizontal ordownward direction.

    3.5 For a Goal Kick, the goalkeeper must returnthe ball into play using one kick fromanywhere on his goal line. They may notreturn the ball using a throw.

    3.6 If a goal keeper passes the ball to his ownplayer the ball must be played to anotherplayer before it can be returned into thearea for the keeper to pick up.

    3.7 Penalty for infringements of the rules aboveis a free kick to the opposition 1m from thegoal area.

    4. SLIDING TACKLES

    4.1 Please note particularly that charging /sliding tackles are forbidden and shall bepenalised by the awarding of a free kick.

    4.2 Persistent charging / sliding tackles shallresult in a blue card.

    5. PLAYERS EQUIPMENT

    5.1 All players MUST wear shin pads. This iscompulsory and failure to do so may resultin that player being excluded from play.

    5.2 Permitted footwear on sand dressed turf isastroturf boots or trainers. Permittedfootwear on rubber crumb turf is astroturfboots, trainers, or football boots withnon-metal blades or non-metal studs.Failure to wear the appropriate footwearmay result in that player being excluded atthe referee’s discretion.

    6. SUBSTITUTES

    6.1 Three (3) substitutes per team shall bepermitted during a game.

    6.2 These substitutes may be pooled from theteam’s registered players but must benominated at the start of the match.

    6.3 The rules of the competition allowunlimited rolling substitutions.

    6.4 The conditions for making a substitution are: - The referee must be informed before a

    substitution can be made.- The player leaving the eld shall do so

    from their own goal line. - The player entering the eld must do so

    from their own goal line but not until theother player has left the eld.

    6.5 Any player may change with the goalkeeper, provided that the referee is informed

    of the change and it is done so in astoppage of play.

    11-A-SIDE FOOTBALL

    7. GENERAL

    7.1 Normal FA rules apply

    7.2 Substitutes are interchangeable at any timewhen there is a dead ball situation, with thepermission of the referee.

    7.3 A player who has received the ball from hiskeeper may not pass back to the keeperbefore another player touches the ball.Infringement will result in a free kick beingawarded from where the back passwas made.

    CAPTAIN’S ROLE

    As the team captain you are agreeing to the PlayingRules and Terms of Conditions of Business for thePowerplay league as set out below and on thewebsite. It is the responsibility of the captain to bethe primary contact for the team and all playersinvolved. By allowing a player to take part in a club’smatch, you are conrming that a player is aware ofand will abide by these rules.

    NETBALL

    1. GENERAL

    1.1 Players must be registered.

    1.2 For Powerplay registered netballerparticipants, your details may be passed toEngland Netball under regulatory

    requirements of Powerplay’s Accreditedassociation with England Netball. Details willbe used by England Netball to trackparticipation in the sport, for disciplinarypurposes, and to communicate and sharebenets with registered participants. It is acondition of entry into Powerplay's netballleagues and events that participants agree tothe sharing of this information.

    2. KIT

    2.1 No item of jewellery, except a wedding ringand/or medical alert bracelet, shall be worn.If worn they must be taped. No adornmentthat may endanger player safety shall beworn.

    2.2 Players must wear suitable clothes andtraining shoes. Shoe laces must be securelytied before a game. Time allowances will notbe given at any point for someone to tie their

    shoe laces.

    2.2 No form of glove may be worn whenplaying netball.

    2.3 If for medical reasons gloves are requiredthen, on production of an appropriatemedical certicate the umpire may allowgloves to be worn.

    2.4 Head scarves are permitted. The materialused for the head covering should be soft,without embellishments which mightconstitute a danger and with potentialowing/apping edges held securely aroundthe neck or tucked into shirt collar. It shouldbe as neat and secure as possible.

    2.5 No caps are to be worn while playing agame.

    2.6 Sunglasses are not permitted under anycircumstances.

    2.7 Nails must be short and blunted, and will bechecked before every game.

    3. CONDUCT

    3.1 There is to be no smoking either on or inclose proximity to the courts. Players inviolation of this rule will not be permittedto play.

    3.2 If any player (in the opinion of the umpire)has consumed alcohol, then that player will

    not be permitted to play in any matchesthat night.

    3.3 Umpires must be respected, listened and

    adhered to at all times. If teams or playershave an issue with an Umpire please discussit with them at half time or afterwards.

    3.4 Discrimination of any kind towards officialsor other players will not be tolerated and will

    result in further action being taken by theleague, up to and including expulsion ofoffending players and teams from the league.

    4. CANCELLATIONS, FORFEITSAND RESCHEDULING FIXTURES

    4.1 Teams may not postpone any xtures.Powerplay reserves the right to postponextures at any time. Powerplay willreschedule any such xtures at no extra costto the teams involved.

    4.2 The Team Manager must inform Powerplayif a team is going to cancel a xture. If this isdone with 28 days’ or less notice the teamis liable for their own match fee as well asthat of the opposition, and they will forfeitthe game 10-0.

    4.3 Any team not showing up for a match (orarriving more than 10 minutes late) withoutcontacting the league in advance will losethe match 10-0. The team will also be nedthe equivalent of one match fee, plus up to

    £30 + VAT to cover administration.4.4 Any team that ‘no-shows’ (3 points will bededucted) or late cancels (i.e. after 4pm onthe day) on 3 occasions in one season maybe expelled from the league withoutcompensation. Late cancellations and‘no-shows’ will also be taken into accountwhen inviting teams back for future seasons.

    4.5 A team cannot withdraw from a league oncethe league has begun. Any team that wishesto pull out from a league with games stillremaining will still be obliged to pay theleague fees for the full season.

    4.6 Powerplay has the right to expel any teamfrom a league if they believe there is duecause. All such decisions will nal.

    4.7 If 75% of a match is played and the match issubsequently abandoned then the result atthe time will stand. Exceptions to this rulewill be where Powerplay feels that this isdetrimental to the league, or if this wouldbenet the team which caused theabandonment. In such a case the offendingteam may lose the game 10-0 and becharged the opposition’s match fee, or berequired to fund a replay.

    5. DISCIPLINARY

    5.1 The suspension (sin bin) process is:

    5.1.1 Signal to the Timekeeper to hold time;

    5.1.2 Advise the player of the reasons forsuspension and the time for this to apply;

    5.1.3 Advise the Timekeepers of the length of thesuspension;

    5.1.4 Signal to the Timekeepers and blow thewhistle for the game to be resumed.

    5.2 The ordering off procedure is:

    5.2.1 Signal to the Timekeeper to hold time

    5.2.2 Advise the player of the reasons for theordering off

    5.2.3 Signal to the Timekeepers and blow thewhistle for the game to be resumed

    5.3 All umpires’ decisions are nal. Intimidationof referees will not be tolerated and willresult in further action being taken by theleague, up to and including expulsion ofoffending players and teams from the league.

    5.4 Discrimination of any kind towards officialsor other players will not be tolerated and willresult in further action being taken by theleague, up to and including expulsion ofoffending players and teams from the league.

    5.5 Powerplay reserves the right to ban or expelany player or team from the league or takeany other disciplinary action as it deemsappropriate.

    5.6 Any team knowingly elding a suspendedplayer will forfeit that game 10-0 and will beliable for the oppositions match fee.

    1. START OF PLAY

    1.1 The captains shall toss for choice of goal end or rst Centre Pass and notify the Umpires

    and the Scorers of the result.

    2. OFFICIALS

    2.1 Powerplay endeavours to allocate twoumpires per game, at least one of whom willalways be a qualied official. Occasionally,games may be played with only one umpire.

    3. TIMING

    3.1 Games will either be played in 2 equalhalves, or 4 equal quarters dependingon league.

    3.2 If teams are more than 3 minutes late to thecourt after the timer has started, their

    opponent may be rewarded with 1 goal perminute after this time, until both teams areon court and ready to play.

    4. CENTRE PASS

    4.1 All players except Centres must be in theirrespective goal third for the Centre pass.

    4.2 When the Centre who is taking the Centrepass steps in the Circle (on one or both feet)the whistle shall be immediately blown.

    4.3 If players are offside when the whistle isblown, a free pass is given to the opposing

    team at the location of the breaking. If this isnot a benet to the team who are receivingthe free pass, advantage shall be played.

    5. OFFSIDE

    5.1 A player, with or without the ball, shall beoffside if that player enters any area otherthan the playing area for that designatedposition.

    5.2 A player may reach over to retrieve a ball butmust not step into an offside area for anyreason (including retrieving a ball, or seeingto an injured player before time is called).

    Penalty - Free Pass to the opposing teamwhere the offside happened.

    6. OUT OF COURT

    6.1 A ball is Out of Court when it: a) touches the ground out of court; b) touches an object or person in contact

    with the ground outside the Court; c) is held by a player in contact with the

    ground, an object or a person outside theCourt.

    6.2 A ball that hits a goal post and is reboundedinto play is not Out of Court.

    6.3 When a player has a Throw In from off court,their foot must not be touching the line.

    Penalty - Throw in to the team opposing theone who last had contact with the ball, to betaken where the ball crossed the line.

    7. OBSTRUCTION

    7.1 An attempt to intercept or defend the ballmay be made by a defending player if thedistance on the ground is not less than0.9m/3ft from the landing foot of the playerwith the ball.

    7.2 Players may defend by jumping upwards ortowards the player with the ball as long asthey are not within 0.9m/3ft.

    7.3 The defender is not obstructing if the armsare outstretched to:

    a) catch, deect or intercept a pass; b) obtain a rebound from a shot at goal. Penalty - Penalty Pass or Shot (where

    applicable) where the obstructionhappened.

    8. CONTACT

    8.1 No player may contact an opponent, eitheraccidentally or deliberately.

    Penalty – Penalty Pass or Shot (whereapplicable) where the obstruction happened.

    9. PLAYING THE BALL9.1 A player may catch the ball, or direct it to

    another player, having bounced theball once.

    9.2 A player may lean on the ball to preventgoing offside or falling over.

    9.3 A player may not throw the ball from anyposition other than standing.

    9.4 A player may not strike the ball with a st,kick the ball or use the Goalpost as a meanof regaining balance or support.

    Penalty - Free Pass to the opposing teamwhere the infringement occurred.

    10. FOOTWORK

    10.1 A player may not take a second step withtheir landing foot after receiving the ball.This includes dragging, sliding and hopping.

    10.2 If a player lands on both feet simultaneously,they may choose which foot to move. Thefoot remaining static will then be their‘landing foot’.

    Penalty - Free Pass to the opposing team

    where the infringement occurred.

    11. PENALTIES

    11.1 The player taking the penalty must take upthe position clearly directed and indicated by

    the Umpire. The penalized player must notmove or attempt to take part in play eitherphysically or verbally until the ball has leftthe hands of the thrower.

    11.2 It is the responsibility of the person who istaking the penalty to ensure that thepenalized player is in place before they take

    the penalty. If the penalty is taken before it isset correctly, a free pass may be awarded tothe other team at the Umpire’s discretion.

    12. TOSS-UPS

    12.1 The two players must be stood 3ft/0.9mapart with their arms by the side before theUmpire can release the ball.

    12.2 The ball may be caught or batted in anydirection except directly at the opposingplayer.

    13. INJURY

    13.1 Players must call ‘Time’ for the Umpires tostop the game in the event of any injury.

    14. NUMBER OF PLAYERS FOR

    7-A-SIDE NETBALL14.1 Teams are allowed seven (7) players on the

    court at any one time and up to ten (10) in asquad in any one night.

    14.2 Where a team is short of players on the night they are permitted to borrow up to three (3)

    guest players at the umpires discretion.

    14.3 A team elding 4 or less players ve minutesafter the official start will automaticallyforfeit.

    14.4 If a team elds 5 or 6 players, one playermust assume the Centre position.

    14.5 For Mixed divisions there must be amaximum of three (3) and a minimum oftwo (2) males on the court at any one time.

    14.6 Male players must be in three differentpositions on the court (Defending, CentrePositions and Attacking Positions) (1 player -Goal Keeper or Goal Defence (DefendingPositions); 1 players for, Wing Attack, WingDefence or Centre (Centre Positions);1 player as Goal Attack or Goal Shooter(Attacking Positions). As an example, a teamcannot have a male Goal Keeper (GK) andanother male playing Goal Defence (GD).

    15. NUMBER OF PLAYERS FOR ‘FASTNET 5S’ NETBALL

    15.1 Teams are allowed ve (5) players on thecourt at any one time and up to eight (8) in a

    squad in any one night.

    15.2 Where a team is short of players on the night they are permitted to borrow up to two (2)

    guest players at the umpires discretion.

    15.3 Teams will rotate positions depending onhow many are in their squad in any one

    night, this is a set rotation pattern.15.4 A team elding 3 or less players ve minutes

    after the official start will automaticallyforfeit.

    15.5 If a team elds 3 or 4 players, one playermust assume the Centre position.

If a team have not arrivedby 10 minutes that team will forfeit the gameand lose 20-0.

    2.3 The Team Manager must inform Powerplay if a team is going to cancel a xture, if this is

    done with 28 days’ or less notice the team isliable for their own match fee as well as thatof the opposition.

    2.4 If a team cancels with more than 28 daysnotice they will lose the game 20-0 and stillbe liable for your match fee but not theopposition’s.

    2.5 Any team not showing up for a match (orarriving more than 10 minutes late) withoutcontacting the league in advance will bededucted three points as well as losing thematch 20-0. The team will also be ned theequivalent of one match fee, plus £10 + VATto cover administration. The deadline forcancelling a game is 4pm on the day of thegame. After this time the cancellation will beconsidered a ‘no show’.

    2.6 Any team that ‘no-shows’ or late cancels (i.e.after midday on the day) on 3 occasions inone season may be expelled from the leaguewithout compensation. Late cancellationsand ‘no-shows’ will also be taken intoaccount when inviting teams back for futureseasons.

    3.3 Nails should be cut short and players are notallowed to wear any nger/hand/wrist/elbow/ forearm protective guards or braces.

    3.4 Players must wear suitable trainers or ideallyhigh top sneakers to protect the ankle.

    3.5 Laces must be tied securely before the gameand the game will not stop for laces to betied.

    3.6 Ideally teams will play in shorts along with a jersey of a dominant colour with a visiblenumber printed on the front and back.

    3.7 Powerplay will provide numbered bibs forteams who don’t play in their own kit.

    3.8 Players must try to keep to the same numbereach week as nominations will be made forindividual awards.

    4. INDIVIDUAL AWARDS

    4.1 MVP- Most Valuable Player of the Season -The referees will pick a player who theydeem the most valuable at the end of everygame. The player with the most nominationsat the end of the season will win MostValuable Player of the Season.

    4.2 Fair Play Award - Each week the referees willbe looking out for players who consistentlydisplay sportsmanlike attributes. At the endof the season the referees will pick oneplayer from the league to win the award.

    4.3 Top Scorer Award - The highest scoringplayer over the course of the season, asrecorded by team captains’, will win thisaward.

    5. CONDUCT

    5.1 If any player (in the opinion of the referee)has consumed alcohol, then that player willnot be permitted to play in any matches thatnight.

    5.2 Referees and table officials must berespected, listened and adhered to at alltime.

    5.3 Only the captain can politely speak to thereferee when there is a dead ball.

    5.4 Every Powerplay player must treat everyonein the league equally and sensitivelyregardless of age, disability, gender, race,ethnic origin, cultural background, sexualorientation, religious beliefs or politicalaffiliation.

    5.5 Do not use foul, sexist, racist language oroffensive gestures at any time.

    5.6 Know and abide by the rules and spirit of thegame.

    5.7 Avoid violence and rough play and helpinjured opponents.

    5.8 Accept the decisions of the match officials

    6. DISCIPLINARY

    6.1 All referee decisions are nal.

    6.2 Intimidation of referees will not be toleratedand will result in further action being takenby the league, up to and including expulsionof offending players and teams from theleague.

    6.3 Discrimination of any kind towards officialsor other players will not be tolerated and willresult in further action being taken by theleague, up to and including expulsion ofoffending players and teams from the league.

    6.4 Powerplay reserves the right to ban or expelany player or team from the league or takeany other disciplinary action as it deemsappropriate.

    6.5 Any team knowingly elding a suspendedplayer will forfeit that game 20-0 and will beliable for the oppositions match fee.

    BASKETBALL LEAGUES

    Powerplay’s basketball rules are based on FIBA’smost up to date rules - FIBA Official BasketballRules 2010.

    1. SQUAD

    1.1 Each team can have an unlimited number ofplayers registered in their squad but eachteam may only have 12 players on the benchper game.

    1.2 Five players are permitted on the court atone time.

    2. GUEST PLAYERS

    2.1 If a team are short of players they may useup to two guest players per game.

    2.2 Players from a higher division are notallowed to ll in for a team in a lowerdivision within the same league.

    2.3 In any corporate league any guest playersused must be an employee from the team’scompany.

    3. SUBS

    3.1 Teams are allowed to make unlimitedsubstitutions but they may only be madewhen play is stopped during time outs andin the breaks.

    3.2 A substitute must request the permission ofthe table officials before they go on court.

    4. TIMING

    4.1 Each game will consist of two equal halves.

    4.2 There will be no stoppage time when the ball goes out of bounds or overtime period at the end of the game.

    4.3 If the score in the last 2 minutes of thesecond half is within 10 points or less thenthe stop clock will be operated.

    4.4 One 30 second ‘time out’ is allowed pergame per team and can only be taken whenthe ball is out of play. Only team captains orcoaches can request a time out.

    5. INJURY TIME

    5.1 The referee may stop the game in the eventof an injury.

    5.2 If the injured player comes off a substitutioncan be made at that time.

    5.3 Due to time constraints the clock will notstop for injuries.

    6. SQUAD LIST

    6.1 Team captains must write their team list outon a piece of paper and hand to the tableofficials before the start of their gameeach week.

    6.2 Please note jersey numbers and bibs runfrom numbers 4-15 inclusive. Use thisformat:

    7. RESULTS

    8. JUMP BALL

    8.1 The referee will start the game in the centrecourt by tossing the ball in the air betweentwo opponents at the start of the rst period.

    9. SHOT CLOCK AND TIME LIMITS

    9.1 Teams are required to advance the ball overthe half way line within 10 seconds ofpossession of the ball.

    9.2 A player shall not remain in the opponents'restricted area for more than threeconsecutive seconds while his team is incontrol of a live ball in the frontcourt and the

    game clock is running.

    9.3 Teams are required to make a shot within30 seconds of gaining possession of the ball.

    9.4 The clock is re-set when the ball touches therim or backboard or when the opposition

    steal possession.

    10. LEAGUE SCORING

    10.1 A team will be awarded 3 points for a win,2 points for a draw, 1 point for a loss and0 points for a forfeit.

    10.2 A team will be deducted 3 points fora no show.

    11. POINTS

    11.1 A basket made from within the three pointline is worth two points.

    11.2 A basket made from outside the three pointline is worth three points.

    11.3 When shooting from the free throw line each basket is worth one point.

    12. TERMINOLOGY AND BASICS

    12.1 Travelling - When moving with the ball theplayer must dribble or bounce the ball withone hand. If the player stops moving orholds the ball with both hands then theplayer may only move one foot and pivot

    with the stationary foot. If the player takesmore than two steps without dribbling orpassing the ball they will be penalised for‘travelling’.

    12.2 Players are not allowed to hit the ball withtheir st or kick the ball.

    12.3 Double Dribble - This is when a playerdribbles the ball stops and then startsdribbling again. A free pass is given to theopposition for this violation. The only way inwhich it is allowed is if another player eithertouches or has control over the ball inbetween.

    12.4 Carrying the ball - When the player dribblesthey must touch the top of the ball. If theplayer touches the ball from underneath andcontinues to dribble, a free pass will beawarded to the opposition.

    12.5 Out of bounds - If a team lose possessionof a ball and it goes out of bounds then afree pass is awarded to the opposition.

    12.6 Backcourt Violation - Once an offensiveteam are past the half court line they are notallowed in the back court. If howeversomeone from the defensive team knocks itout to the back court then this is allowed.

    12.7 Goal tending - When a basketball istravelling down towards the basket or rimplayers are not allowed to intercept or touchthe ball.

    13. FOULS

    13.1 Personal foul - A personal foul isdiscretionary and the referee will decide ifthe violation was committed but basically afoul is when a player tries to steal possessionof the ball by making illegal contact whichunfairly causes the opponent to lose the ball

    or take a shot.13.2 If a foul is committed whilst a player is taking a shot then a free throw is awarded to the

    opposition.

    13.3 The opposition is awarded two or three freethrows depending whether the shotattempted was taken in front or behind thethree point line.

    13.4 If a foul is committed whilst taking a shotand the ball still goes in, the basket countsbut the number of free throws is reducedto one.

    13.5 If a foul occurs when the player is not takinga shot then the opposition is awardedpossession of the ball and will throw the ballfrom out of bounds at the nearest point towhere the foul was committed.

    13.6 Penalty situation - If a team commit fourdefensive fouls in one quarter they enter thepenalty situation. If a fth defensive foul iscommitted in the same quarter then thefouled player from the opposing team isawarded two free throws regardless of if thefoul was made when they were shootingor not.

    13.6 Foul out - If a player commits 5 personalfouls in a game they ‘foul out’ and aredisqualied for the rest of the game but maystay seated on the bench and be includedwith team talks. A substitute must come onimmediately to replace the player.

    13.7 Technical foul - A technical foul is when aplayer fails to comply with the rules usuallyfor unsportsmanlike behaviour whichincludes arguing with the referee. Atechnical foul can be made against a player,team or manager. A technical foul is separate

    to a personal foul and does not counttowards your total. In the event of atechnical foul, the opposition are awardedtwo free throws with no rebounds andpossession of the ball after the free throws.Any player on the opposition can take thefree throws.

    13.8 Flagrant foul/unsportsmanlike foul - Inextreme cases if a referee deems a fouloverly aggressive or a ‘agrant foul’ thereferee has the right to send the player off for

    the rest of the game. In this instance two free throws are awarded to the opposition and

    possession of the ball after the free throwsare taken but the free throws must be takenby the player that was fouled.

    14. FREE THROWS

    14.1 When a player is taking a free throw theymust release the ball within 5 seconds andare not allowed to step on or over the freethrow line before the ball touches the ring.

    14.2 Players can jump whilst taking a free throwso long as they don’t leave their designatedarea.

    14.3 A violation by the shooter cancels the freethrow and a violation by the defensive teamresults in a replacement free throw.

    14.4 If it is the last free throw and the shootercompletely misses or there is a violation bythe offensive team then the defensive teamtake possession.
