Students will accumulate points throughout the nine weeks. Points will come from the following categories, and will be based on the following percentages:
Category 1: Homework / Classwork/ Participation 30% Category 2: Exams/Quizzes 70%Attendance, effort and behavior will be reported separately.
Grading Policy
• Students are strongly discouraged from missing class. Students explore and discover mathematical concepts in class. Absences interfere with the comprehension and progress necessary to successfully complete the course. We will follow the established school wide rules for classroom attendance and tardiness.
• Make-up work will only be accepted for excused absences; otherwise, a “Z” will be given. It is the students’ responsibility for obtaining missed notes and for completing make-up work in a timely manner.
• It is the students’ responsibility to make arrangements with the teacher(within a week after a test) for making up a test.
Attendance & Make up work
❖ Homework will be assigned, checked and reviewed DAILY. Online assignments are given through the HMH online resources on the student portal.
❖ It is a student's responsibility to complete assignments on time and to make corrections on missed problems.
❖ Students are expected to take notes EVERYDAY. **ALLproblems should be attempted and all work MUST be shown for FULL credit.

Math builds on itself like a story. Missing something can have negative consequences for a long time.
The more you practice, the better, faster, and more accurate you will be. This will make it easier to learn new, harder things. You'll also perform better under pressure, such as on a quiz or test.
If you get a wrong answer, then go back and solve the question until you get it right. Be sure you understand what mistakes you made.
Organized work leads to organized thinking. Plus, if you get a wrong answer, you can go back and see why.
