Only ONE parent is involved in the reproduction.Binary fission is an example of asexual reproduction, which involves only one parent.

Flowering plants have male and female parts, which produce male (pollen) and female (eggs) gametes.

This is a form of sexual reproduction. Sexual reproduction always requires TWO parents.

The redwood tree most likely would reproduce asexually if there is a large space available. Asexual reproduction is FASTER, so the tree could populate the new open area more quickly.

Seeds are the product of sexual reproduction so the new plants have genetic variations that may help them survive. Seeds have a hard outercovering that protects the baby plant. Seeds canbe dispersed widely many different ways.

The night blooming flowers may have light colors, and a strong scent (smell). The light color will be easier to see in low light, and the smell easy to follow.
