Environment

This is an important finding . . . training is a key component to ensuring success.” (Preventing Chronic Disease, Vol. 9, 2012, Centers for Disease Control) “The Alliance for a Healthier Generation provides extensive support through online resources and intensive technical assistance . . . These services are available and free . . . and such resources are likely to be essential in implementing school-level change.” (Journal of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, 2012)

Doing Away With Doughnuts ANDERSON COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT 4| SOUTH CAROLINA With a background in exercise physiology, Dr. Joanne Avery took on the role of Human Resources Director of Anderson County School District 4 with an eye to also improve employee wellness. She launched a staff wellness program with incentives for making an effort and changing to healthier behaviors.
