Click the chair icon for attendance
• Note: Click submit at the bottom when finished
• Also Note: It will not allow you to take attendance for a class that isn’t in session that day
Opening the Gradebook
Click the gradebook link on the left side of the screen, then click the launch button
After clicking launch a box will open asking you to open this with Java. Click ok and the java applet will begin to open. If it asks if you trust the certificate choose trust
To change existing or create new categories
Go to Tools-->Categories
Use the + sign to add new categories
Use the - sign to delete
You can modify the names of the categories as well
How to set up categories and final
gradesClick the grade setup tab at the top.
Choose the reporting term you want to configure in the middle part of the screen. At the bottom you can now weight by percentage which categories you wish to include.
When finished click save at the bottom.
How to create an assignment
Click on the assignments tab at the top.
Now click the “+ ” sign to add an assignment.
Give the assignment a name, category, total points, due date and description.
When finished click save.
How to enter grades for an assignment
After creating the assignment, click the score sheet tab at the top.
The assignment now appears along with the class roster. Enter scores by clicking the blank area matching up with the students and assignment.
When finished entering scores click save at the bottom.
Notice the S1 grade updates to display a letter grade and percentage
How to manually override a grade
• Double-click the grade you want to override on the score sheet
• Click the box that says “Manual Override”
• Enter the appropriate percentage and letter grade in the boxes
• Note – a little red mark now shows in the score sheet, this shows you that the grade has been overridden
Tips
• Whenever the final grades don’t look right go to tools recalculate final scores to force a recalculation of grades
• For year long classes, S2 is set to the entire years term. This allows S2 progress reports to have a grade that is a running total for the year

Other gradebook functions
Students tab - Contains demographic information on each student in the class including parent contact info and email.
Class info tab - contains info on the class (duh!)
Reports tab - contains a multitude of printable reports regarding the class (report titles are self explanatory)
