Listening skills• Giving children rain makers, noisy sensory bottles,

household objects that make noise can encourage listening.

• Using music to help them to sleep or as background music in their play area can encourage listening.

• Clapping and body percussion can develop listening

• Pointing out environmental sounds can encourage listening

Musical game 1. As a group please write the alphabet on A4

pieces of paper2. Push all the tables and chairs around the side

of the room so you have a large space 3. Using the masking tape stick the individual

letters around the classroom on the floor in no order, with space around each letter
