PPI RD-203E adhesive has been specifically formulated toachieve maximum shear and adhesion. The adhesive willalso adhere aggressively to both metal and plastic surfacesincluding the “difficult to adhere to ” plastics such aspolypropylene and polyethylene. Therefore, the tape hasbeen approved for many niche applications wherestandard adhesives are unsatisfactory. One such applicationis for the splicing of draught excluders in the automotive industry. A masking tape with applications in both painting andpaint stripping operations. The aluminium foil backingprovides excellent sur face conformability andimpermeability to moisture and aggressive chemicals.Therefore, it is unaffected by exposure to paint or paintstripping chemicals. PPI 904-6 has found widespreadacceptance in a number of repair/maintenanceapplications, particularly in aircraft maintenance.

PPI 701 is based on polyimide film with a special siliconeadhesive. It possesses the highest heat resistance of all thePPI powder coating masking tapes. Even after extremebaking conditions (300oC/572oF for 1 hour), the adhesivewil l st i l l maintain its adhesion and flexibil ity. Thiscombination ensures perfect masking on a wide variety ofsurfaces. PPI 701 can be removed after baking with noadhesive residue.
A combination of aluminium foil with glasscloth, thealuminium sur face reflects radiant heat while theglasscloth reinforcement provides very high tensilestrength. Applications include masking during plasmaspraying. Short term heat resistance up to 600oC (1112oF).
RD-692 is a high tack version of PPI 8415. Due to its highperformance adhesive, RD-692 is recommended for use inspecialist applications where good initial grab/adhesion todifficult surfaces and materials is required. RD-692 hasexceptional heat resistance and is used for plasma spraymasking .
PPI 8415 is based on glasscloth coated with a polysiloxaneadhesive. The glasscloth substrate provides excellenttensile and high temperature properties. The polysiloxaneadhesive also possesses very good high temperaturestability. It is recommended for all specialist applications(masking, protecting) which require exceptional heatresistance (e.g. plasma spray welding).
PPI 8416 is a high temperature resistant double sided tapebased on glasscloth which is coated on both sides with apolysiloxane adhesive. This combination makes PPI 8416particularly suitable for high temperature plasma spraymasking, laminating and mounting applications. Short term heat resistance up to 400oC.

PPI SP-459 PPI SP-459 is based on a polyester film coated with a highadhesion silicone adhesive layer. It can be found in twodistinctive applications in the composite manufacturingindustry. PPI SP-459 is used during the painting process where itssuperior chemical resistance to solvents and its residuefree removability make it an ideal fine line masking tape.Alternatively it can be used as a mould gap coveringtape. To simplify the production of larger composite parts(boats, etc), the moulds tend to come in sections whichare bolted together to produce the final mould shape.Where gaps exist between the mould sections, PPI SP-459 isused to provide a gap cover and seamless surface finish.

A very high tack double-sided tape. PPI RD-289A is idealfor those mounting or laminating applications whereinstant adhesion is required. The adhesive has very goodlong term resistance against UV and moisture exposureand has excellent adhesion to metal and plastic surfaces.
A differential adhesive strength, double-sided tape. Thelow tack, low adhesion side allows mounting of the tapeto metal, plastic or glass and even after long term agingthe tape can be cleanly removed without adhesiveresidue. In contrast, the opposite side has very highadhesion and tack. PPI RD-172 is used in temporarymounting applications (e.g. photopolymer plate mountingon foam coated sleeves for printing processes).

PPI RD-697A double sided polyester based tape whichcombines both high adhesive strength and hightemperature shear strength. RD-697 exhibits excellentadhesion to a variety of substrates, particularly metalsand glass.
PPI RD-421PPI RD-421 is suitable for mounting, splicing andbonding of paper, metal and plastic surfaces. Because ofits high adhesion rubber based adhesive, PPI RD-421 isparticularly suitable for bonding to low energy surfaceplastics (e.g.polyethylene).
PPI RD-449RD-449 is based on a polyester film coated on one sidewith an acylic adhesive and the opposite side is coatedwith a silicone based adhesive. This product is designedfor bonding silicone rubber based membrane switcheswhich are normally very hard to adhere to due to theirsilicone rubber structure. The silicone adhesive side bondsvery well to this material and the acrylic adheive sidereadily bonds to the rigid polyester film. PPI RD-577 FPPI RD-577F is based on a layer of siliconetransfer adhesive supplied on a polyesterrelease film. This product can be used forspecial bonding ,laminating andmounting applications that require hightemperature resistance. PPI RD-852PPI RD-852 is a special differential adhesion productwhich has been designed to mount thin gasket surroundsonto mobile phone LCD ’s. The black opaque adhesiveenhances the backlighting within the LCD.

The uncoated face of the PPI 9515 is partiallycovered with a central strip of blue coloured polyestermasking tape. LM-394B is recommended forapplications in the manufacture of EMI/RFI shieldedcabinets. During the assembly of these cabinets LM-394B is applied around the door panel. The completedcabinets are painted and then baked. The polyestermasking tape is then removed leaving an exposed tinsurface which provides a conductive pathway to thepanel.
