On the average, prices received by farmers for all items sustained an increasingtrend during the 4-year period (2007-2010). This was reflected by indices of 104.4percent in 2007 to 131.5 percent in 2010.
In 2007, prices of vegetables and legumes, rootcrops, fruits and fish were lowerthan the base year quotations. The rest of the commodity groups were pricedabove the base year levels in all the reference years.
The highest annual PPI was observed in 2010 for commercial crops at 155.1percent followed by cereals at 137.3 percent.
Semi-annual PPIs for all items showed that prices were higher during the secondhalf of each year. This was true for vegetables and legumes, fruits andcommercial crops throughout the reference years.
Producer prices were in the uptrend in Cagayan Valley, CALABARZON,MIMAROPA, all Visayas regions and SOCCSKSARGEN over the four (4)-yearperiod.
Prices lower than the 2006 levels were recorded in CAR, Ilocos Region and inARMM in 2007. For the rest of the years, all regions registered farm prices abovethe base year levels.
MIMAROPA, registered the highest annual PPI from 2008 to 2010.

Farm prices in 2007 in the region were below the 2006 levels. However, for thenext 3 years, prices were relatively higher than in the base year. Price indicesranged from 116.4% in 2008 to 130.2% in 2009 and in 2010, these settled at 112.4%.
Relative to 2006 prices, vegetables and legumes were generally lower during thereference years except in 2009, when PPI was 15.8 index points above the baseyear.
PPI of poultry and fishery items continued to increase during the reference years.
Among the commodity groups, commercial crops posted the highest index from143.8% in 2007 to 152.1% in 2010.

In 2007, PPI for all items was 3.1 index points lower than the base year. In 2008,prices gained by19.9 index points. Increases in PPI were sustained at faster ratesin succeeding years.
Prices of vegetables and legumes registered PPIs below the base year levels in2007 and 2010 at 81.2 percent and 89.8 percent, respectively.
Fishery products in 2007 were sold at prices lower than the base yearsquotations. Price gains started in the succeeding years at varied rates.
Livestock prices were increasing throughout the reference period.

The overall PPIs for the region implied price uptrend at the farmgate. The annualPPIs ranged from 105.4 percent in 2007 to 128.4 percent in 2010.
Cereals exhibited highest PPI in 2010 at 133.1 percent. Rootcrops followed with PPI
of 132.8 percent. PPIs for fruits, poultry and fishery showed upswings throughout the period.
Commodity groups which showed lower prices than its 2006 levels were:vegetables and legumes by 12.6 index points in 2007, rootcrops by 2.0 index pointsin 2008, and commercial crops by 2.1 index points in 2008 and 0.6 index points in2010.

The upward trend of prices in 2007 to 2009 was not sustained in 2010 when PPIslid to 120.3 percent.
Except in 2008, vegetables and legumes were sold at prices lower than the 2006prices.
Among the commodity groups, commercial crops posted the highest index from2007 to 2010. In 2009 and 2010, prices doubled the base year price levels.
While cereals, poultry and fish posted lower PPIs in 2010 than in 2009 these werestill higher than the 2006 levels.
Rootcrops and livestock sustained upward movements in prices.

Increases in farm prices were sustained as indicated in the indices of 105.4percent in 2007 to 125.6 percent in 2010 for all items.
Only fruits and livestock posted increasing price quotations during the reference
years. Vegetables and legumes prices declined in 2010.
Commercial crops exhibited higher PPI in 2010 at 172.2 percent followed bycereals at 134.1 percent.
On semi-annual basis, the aggregate PPIs in the first half of the year weregenerally higher compared with the second half.

Farmgate prices of all items increased from 2007 to 2008. In 2009, prices sloweddown with PPI estimated at 128.5 percent, lower by 2.7 index points from 2008.However, PPI recovered in 2010 at 135.8 percent.
In 2007, PPI of vegetables and legumes was below the base year level at 93.1
percent but recorded indices above the 2006 levels thereafter.
Among the commodity groups, only cereals were marked by continuousincreases and above-the-base year levels during the reference years.
Rootcrops posted the highest PPI in 2010 at 154.7 percent.

Prices at the farm level reflected an uptrend with indices indicating prices wayabove the 2006 level for the whole four-year period.
In 2007 and 2008, commercial crops were sold cheaper than the 2006
quotations. For the rest of the reference years, prices were higher than the baseyear levels with the highest PPI at 161.7 percent in 2010.
PPI of vegetables and legumes in 2007 indicated prices below the base year butin the next three (3) years, prices went above the 2006 levels.
Higher indices were noted in the second half of each year for most commodities.

During the reference years, 2007-2010, the overall producer prices increased by2.1 to 26.5 index points from the 2006 records.
Cereals were noted as the big gainers in 2008 and 2009 with PPIs of 135.0percent and 144.3 percent, respectively.

Minimal increases in farm prices of all items were noted in 2008 to 2009 PPIs, i.e.,from 128.3 percent in 2008 index was up to 128.5 percent in 2009. Prices were upin the following year with PPI of 137.5 percent.
PPIs for fishery were lower than the 2006 base year except in 2009. Under thiscommodity group, seaweeds and tiger prawn consistently showed below the baseyear price levels during the reference years.
PPIs for cereals, rootcrops, fruits and fishery groups were lower in 2010 than in2009.

Relative to the base year, PPI grew annually from 106.3 percent in 2007 to 140.2percent in 2010, although, there was a decline in prices in 2009 against 2008 levels.
In 2007, prices of fruits and fishery items were below the prices in the base year.
Prices of cereals and vegetables and legumes were reduced in 2010 from 2009levels.
Among the commodity groups, commercial crops stood out with the highest indexat 167.3 percent followed by rootcrops at 144.2 percent in 2010.
Rootcrops, livestock and poultry sustained price uptrends.

PPI for agriculture stood at 109.0 percent in 2007. It further went up to 138.1percent in 2010.
In 2007, prices received by farmers for rootcrops were lower as mostcommodities under this group registered PPIs below the base year.
Except in 2009, commercial crops consistently got the biggest gains among thecommodity groups. PPI for commercial crops in 2010 was 148.5 percent.
Uptrend in prices was indicated by the above-the-base year indices for livestock,poultry and fishery commodity groups.

Farm price movement in the region was increasing during the four-year period.Indices went up from 107.4 percent in 2007 to 136.6 percent in 2010.
In 2007, farmgate prices of rootcrops, fruits and poultry were lower relative to
the base year levels but prices of these commodities surged from 2008 to 2010.
In 2010, most of the commodity groups recorded notable gains in prices.Vegetables and legumes got the highest PPI at 206.6 percent.
Cereals, livestock and fishery commodity groups recorded increasing trends inprices at levels above the base year.

Price indices for all items in 2007 were below the base year as a result of the lowprices of rootcrops, fruits, commercial crops and fish.
Poultry posted the highest index in two (2) consecutive years (2008-2009) withthe biggest gains in 2010 at PPI of 148.0 percent. Meanwhile, vegetables andlegumes registered the lowest price index at 76.0 percent.
PPI for rootcrops and fruits indicated lower prices in 2008 compared to the baseyear levels but then recovered during the next two years.
In 2009, prices of commercial crops recorded a decrease of 9.7 index points from2006 levels.
