meeting the Challenges in Forging publiC private partnerships in indonesia

the government will soon offer five public private partnership (ppp) projects worth billions of dollars as part of the government’s programme to accelerate the development of the country’s infrastructure. bkpm

estimates that the government would need up to rp. 1,500 trillion for the infrastructure development for the period between 2010-2014. the government will allocate rp. 500 trillion to rp. 600 trillion from its state

budget. so, we still need about rp. 900 trillion to rp. 1,000 trillion from the private sector.~ The Jakarta Post, August 23, 2010 ~

Like in other emerging and developing countries, PPPs in Indonesia are seen as major investment opportunities that provide a long-term commitment and solid funding for major infrastructure projects. the Indonesia Government has issued perpres no. 13/2010 (presidential Directives) paving the way for significant cooperation between government and private entities in the provision of infrastructure in the country. the new directives underscore Indonesia government’s seriousness in implementing and accelerating PPP developments.

the new directives open up greater investments, financing and partnership opportunities.

PPP is an appealing and rewarding business venture scheme in spearheading Indonesia’s infrastructure development, however it will only be successful if both private and government sectors work in absolute synergy and in a transparent way. Against this backdrop, The Asia Business Forum is pleased to present our inaugural ppp and inFrastruCture development indonesia ConFerenCe, a timely 2-day networking-investment-and-partnership event that will assess the development of PPP framework, policy, procedure and the investment opportunities under this investment vehicle in Indonesia’s infrastructure field.

themed “Determining the Developments and investment opportunities for ppp infrastructure projects in indonesia”, this Conference will convene regulators, policy makers, infrastructure developers, project owners, operators, contractors, financiers, consultants, legal experts and other professionals keen to explore and capitalise on PPP opportunities in Indonesia such as in the power sector, port, water facilities, toll road and railways infrastructures.

Do not miss out on your chance to participate at this strategic business meeting to get a firm understanding on the current industry outlook, risk profiles, legal challenges, financing issues, investment options and solutions for Indonesia PPP projects.

I look forward to welcoming you at the Conference in Jakarta.
