    Resource (PP-PI-MD)

Resource (PP-PI-MD) Purpose You use resources to manage the objects and persons involved in the production process in your enterprise. In a resource, important data is defined concerning

    The use of production equipment/persons

The available capacity of the resources

The costs of operating the resource

A resource may be, for example: A processing unit

A person (such as a process operator)

    An intermediate storage area

Implementation Considerations Install this component in process manufacturing companies.

Integration You assign resources to operations and phases in the master recipe [Ext.] and in process orders [Ext.] to specify with whom or at which parts of the plant a processing step is carried out. Data managed in the resource serves as a basis for scheduling, capacity requirements planning, and costing. If you want to You also need

    Classify resources Classification System (CA-CL)

Calculate the costs of operating resources Controlling (CO)

Choose people and their qualifications for a resource

    Personnel System (HR)

The Term Resource In PP-PI, resources perform the same function as work centers do in PP.

For technical reasons, you will sometimes come across the term work center instead of resource in the system. This is particularly the case in Customizing, since here the settings are usually carried out for both applications together.

    Resource

Resource Definition Resources are production facilities and persons involved in a production process that have capacities. They are subdivided into categories [Page 13] to specify their suitability for certain purposes or their use in certain processes.

    Resources can be, for example:

Persons involved in production that are also recorded as employees in personnel administration

Parts of the plant that are used for production (processing units) Parts of the plant that are used for intermediate storage (storage resources) Parts of the plant that are used for both intermediate storage and production (storage

    resources / processing units)

Use You assign resources to operations and phases in the master recipe and in process orders to specify with whom or at which parts of the plant a process step is carried out. Depending on the resource category, you can assign resources as follows:

Resources used for production are assigned as the Primary resource for the operation [Ext.] (if the resource is occupied for the entire

    duration of the operation)

Secondary resource for operations and phases [Ext.] (if the resource is required in addition to the primary resource for a certain period of time)

Resources that are only used for storage are assigned a storage location at which the stocks are managed.

You can assign a storage location for:

    Header material that is stored

Material components that are withdrawn from storage (in the case of ingredients) or placed into storage (in the case of by-products or co-products)

The data in the resource are used, for example, for:

    Scheduling

Operating times and formulas for calculating the operation duration are maintained in the resource.

Costing Formulas for calculating the operation costs are maintained in the resource. In addition, a resource is assigned to a cost center.

Capacity Requirements Planning Formulas for calculating capacity requirements for an operation are maintained in resources.

    Resource

Simplification of Operation Maintenance Various default values are maintained for the operation in the resource.

Structure The data to be processed is functionally subdivided in the following way:

Basic data The standard value key is part of the basic data. Standard values are used as parameters in formulas for determining the execution time, capacity requirements, and costs.

Default values (for example, for the control key, the wage type, or the wage group) Capacity data (for example, the capacity type and the available capacity) Scheduling data (for calculating the execution time) Cost center assignment Link to the personnel administration system (for labor resources) Hierarchy relationships Network relationships

  • Resource (PP-PI-MD) SAP AG

    Resource

Resource hierarchies serve to aggregate available capacity or capacity requirements at a resource.

When you assign resources to a resource network, you determine the sequence in which the resources are used in the master recipe or in the process order.

You can classify resources to specify for which purposes they are suited and how they should be used in certain operations.

    Resource Category

Resource Category Definition A resource category groups resources according to their characteristics and use. The resource category controls the screen sequence and field selection. This means it determines which data is to be maintained for the resource.

Use A resource category is user-defined and is set up in Customizing.

When you create a resource, you assign a resource category to it.

Resource categories can be used, for example, to distinguish between the following resources in the standard system:

Labor Processing unit Storage resources Processing unit / storage resource Integration Depending on the resource category and its screen sequence, you have links to the following objects:

Person or organizational unit in personnel administration You maintain this data in the standard system for the resource category labor.

Cost center and activity types This data is used for settlement for all resource categories in production, which includes the resource categories processing unit and processing unit / storage resource in the standard system.

Capacity categories You assign a capacity category to all resource categories. The following different capacity types are required depending on the resource category.

Time unit for resources that are only used in production. You assign this capacity type to the resource categories labor and processing unit.

Volume unit / unit of measure for resources that are only used for storage. You assign this capacity type to the resource category storage resource

Time unit and volume unit / unit of measure for resources that are used for storage and production. You assign this capacity type to the resource category processing unit / storage resource.

    Resource Category

A storage location is used for inventory management for resources that are used as intermediate storage. It is assigned to the resource categories storage resource and processing unit / storage resource.

    14 April 2001

  • SAP AG Resource (PP-PI-MD)

    Processing Unit

Processing Unit Definition Processing units are resources used in production.

Use The available capacity of a processing unit is dependent on the time-related availability and serves as a basis for scheduling and for time-related capacity requirements planning in production.

Integration Processing units can be linked to cost centers and activity types. The resulting data is used for settlement.

    April 2001 15

  • Resource (PP-PI-MD) SAP AG

    Labor Resources

Labor Resources Definition Labor resources are people in the production process who have capacities. To determine how they are used, you define data on the qualifications and performance as well as shifts.

Use Labor resources contain data that can be used from the point of view of production planning (capacities) as well as from the point of view of personnel administration (employee).

Integration Labor resources can be linked to persons or organizational units in personnel administration.

    16 April 2001

  • SAP AG Resource (PP-PI-MD)

    Storage Resources

Storage Resources Definition A storage resource is a storage location or production unit that has both the characteristics of a resource and a storage location. It is used for intermediate storage of materials. Temporary storage of material in a production process can either be required between operations that follow each other chronologically within a production stage or between several production stages.

There are two types of storage resources:

Storage resource, on which no production process takes place (resource category Storage)

This storage resources can have an available capacity and material stock assigned to it. Its available capacity is defined in the unit volume/quantity.

Storage resources that are only for storage are assigned to the material flow directly in the master recipe or in the process order.

Storage resource, at which a production process takes place (resource category Processing unit / Storage)

This storage resources can also be planned as far as time is concerned and material movements take place on it. Its available capacity is defined both in a time unit and in volume/quantity.

Storage resources that are also processing units are copied to the master recipe (or process order) as primary resources.

Use A storage resource that is only used for storage serves as an intermediate storage location for materials and is used to avoid bottlenecks in production planning.

Such bottlenecks occur, for example, in the following situations:

When a line is not available for the next operation during the production of an intermediate product.

Within the production process when there is a changeover between a continuously producing and a batch-oriented line.

When a product cannot be released for further processing right away (perhaps, for example, because results from laboratory studies are still being waited on or materials are in quarantine).

The available capacity of storage resources remains continuous as far as time is concerned, however, it is dependent on volumes / maximum quantities.

Since inventory management is necessary, the storage resource is recorded as a storage location. In this way, the quantity of material flow is controlled.

A storage resource that is at the same time a processing unit is used for intermediate storage of materials and for production. It therefore functions as a primary resource in the production process. After the last production step, the material remains at the line until part or all of it is withdrawn for a process. The available capacity of this type of storage resource is defined based on time-related availability as well as on the quantity-related capacity and the stock.

    Resource Maintenance

Resource Maintenance Purpose In resource maintenance, you maintain the resources, that is, the production facilities and persons involved in the production process in your enterprise. Data maintained here serves as a basis for costing, capacity requirements planning, and scheduling.

If you also use the R/3 personnel system (HR), resource data can be made available for personnel planning. You activate the shared use of the resource with personnel planning via control data for the resource in Customizing.

When you create a resource in Logistics, the system also makes this data available in the personnel system.

If you create a resource for personnel planning, you can decide whether this resource is also relevant for Logistics in the dialog box that appears. If this is the case, you must enter additional data for the resource, such as the plant and task list usage.

Prerequisites You can create default values in Customizing for specific combinations of resource categories and plants in a default resource. [Page 148] This reduces the time involved in creating a resource.

Process Flow Since the resource category determines which screen and field data appear during resource maintenance, the following process flow varies in detail depending on the resource category; see also Resource Configuration [Page 147].

    1. You enter the initial data for resource maintenance, for example, resource key and resource category.

If required, you copy data from a default resource or another source.

    2. You enter the general basic data, such as the short text for naming the resource, the person responsible for the resource, the task list usage, and the standard value key. For storage resources you enter the storage location.

    3. You classify the resource by assigning it to a class of a specific class type.

    4. To simplify the maintenance of master recipes and process orders, you enter default values for specific fields of operations and phases. You mark these values as defaults or references (Values that are marked as references in the resource are always copied in the recipe and order, whereas values that are marked as defaults are only copied under certain conditions).

    5. You assign capacities to the resource. The capacity specifies the available capacity of a resource. You specify a capacity category that corresponds to a resource category (for example, processing unit for a production resource or storage for a storage resource) and a formula to calculate the capacity requirements.

    April 2001 19

  • Resource (PP-PI-MD) SAP AG

    Resource Maintenance

    6. You maintain the capacity header data. For example, you enter data on available capacity, data on the standard available capacity for the resource capacity of production resources by defining shifts, or an available capacity in volume / quantity for storage resources.

To simplify the process of entering available capacity, you can create a shift sequence beforehand in Customizing.

    7. If required, you specify intervals for available capacity, which means you define available capacities that, unlike standard available capacity, have a limited validity period.

    8. For production resources you maintain scheduling data. You use the scheduling basis to determine which available capacity serves as a basis for scheduling. You also enter a formula for calculating the execution time (for example, in the process order).

    9. You enter data for cost accounting if you want to calculate the activities performed at the resource. Internal activities and business processes that are debited when a product is produced at a resource can be settled in this way for the product.

    10. You assign the resource to a resource hierarchy if you want to cumulate the available capacity or capacity requirements of several resources hierarchically.

    11. If required, you assign the resource to a resource network. 12. You save the resource.

    Maintaining Resources

Maintaining Resources Prerequisites Resource data is grouped thematically on different screens or tab pages. The resource category you enter when creating a resource determines which screens and data you can maintain.

You can define resource categories in Customizing for resources. The standard system settings contain, for example, the resource categories processing unit, labor, and storage.

If you want to create a storage resource, you first must create a storage location to which you can assign the resource in Customizing.

If you choose the function for checking a resource [Page 45], you are taken to the resource maintenance screens that you have not yet processed.

Procedure 1. In the R/3 main menu, choose Logistics Production - Process Master Data

    Resources.

The area menu for resources appears.

    2. Choose Resource Create or Change The initial screen for resource maintenance appears.

    3. Enter the data on the initial screen (for example, the key of the resource and the resource category) and choose Basic data.

The Basic data tab page appears.

    4. When you create a resource, enter the basic data (such as the short text for naming the resource, the person responsible for the resource, the task list usage, and the storage location for storage resources).

    5. Choose .

When creating a resource, you can copy from a source if necessary. For more information on how to do this, see Copying Resources [Page 22].

Result The resource is created in the system.

To be able to use the resource in production planning, you must enter more data on the resource depending on the resource category. For more information on this, see Resource Maintenance [Page 19] and the chapters that follow it.

    April 2001 21

  • Resource (PP-PI-MD) SAP AG

    Copying Resources

Copying Resources Use You can copy existing resources to change resources or create new resources. The data from the reference resource is copied to the new resource where it then can be changed.

You can enter a reference resource

On the initial screen when creating a resource On one of the tab pages when creating or changing a resource Procedures Entering the Reference Resource on the Initial Screen 1.

    2.

    3.

On the initial screen in resource maintenance, make entries in the Plant and Copy from resource fields.

The system offers data from the reference resource to copy to the new resource.

Select the data you want to copy.

    Choose .

Entering the Reference Data on the Tab Pages in Resource Maintenance 1. On one of the tab pages, choose Edit Copy from.

The system displays a selection of data that is valid for the current tab page.

For example, if you are on the Default Values tab page, only the default values from the reference resource are proposed.

Existing data is overwritten with the data from the source.

You can change this data afterwards.

    2.

    3.

Select the data you want to copy.

    Choose .

    Processing Basic Data

Processing Basic Data Purpose When creating a resource, you enter general basic data before you maintain specific data such as standard values, capacity data, scheduling data, or costing data. Basic data includes different organizational data, such as the person responsible and the location of the resource.

Prerequisites You have entered the initial data and are on the Basic Data tab page.

Process Flow The resource category you have selected determines which fields appear on the screen.

    1. You enter a description for the resource. You enter descriptions in the logon language. You can also create further texts in other languages. See also: Creating Language-Dependent Descriptions [Page 26].

    2. You choose a person responsible for the resource. 3. You choose the location of the resource. 4. You enter a task list usage. By doing this, you specify the task list types in which the

    resource may be used.

    5. If necessary, you choose a transition matrix. In process manufacturing, the transition matrix allows transition times to be taken into account automatically when products are changed. The transition matrix is defined in Customizing. For more information, see Define Transition Matrix. [Ext.]

The transition matrix is evaluated in the Process Flow Scheduler (PFS) only and not in the R/3 System.

    6. If required, you set the Backflush indicator. By setting the Backflush indicator, you specify that a material component used in a phase of the order that is carried out at this resource is to be backflushed. This results in the system automatically posting the withdrawal when you confirm the operation.

The Backflush indicator, which is set in the resource, is only taken into account once you have specified that the decision as to whether material components are to be backflushed is to be made in the resource. You specify this on the MRP 2 screen in the material master. If you set the Backflush indicator in the master recipe or in the process order, the components are always backflushed regardless of whether you set the indicator in the resource.

    7. You choose a standard value key. This determines which standard values, that is, which planned values for the expected activities during an operation, will be entered in the master recipe or process order.

    April 2001 23

  • Resource (PP-PI-MD) SAP AG

    Processing Basic Data

    8. When creating a storage resource, you assign a storage location and specify whether you can mix the materials, that is, store several materials simultaneously at one storage resource.

    9. You save the resource.

The performance efficiency rate key [Page 25] is hidden for the predefined resource categories, but you can activate it in Customizing in the field selection for the corresponding resource category. A performance efficiency rate key shows the relationship between the actual work performance and a planned average performance.

    24 April 2001

  • SAP AG Resource (PP-PI-MD)

    Standard Values

Standard Values Standard values are planned values for the execution of an operation that are maintained in the operation of the recipe. Typical standard values are, for example, setup and processing. The execution time, costs, and capacity requirements of the operation are calculated from the standard values in the operation using the formulas of the resource.

If a resource is assigned to an operation, the standard value key of the resource is used to assign up to six data fields and key words for the standard values to the operation. The standard value key is defined in Customizing for Resources and entered on the Basic data tab page.

The input value rule specifies whether the input values in the operation must be maintained or whether maintenance is optional.

On the Default values tab page you can enter the unit of measurement for the standard values as the default for the operation. For internal processing operations, the default value for the unit of measurement of the work is maintained on the Scheduling tab page.

Performance Efficiency Rate Key Performance efficiency rate keys are assigned to the standard values on the Basic data tab page in resource maintenance. A performance efficiency rate key shows the relationship between the actual work performance and a planned average performance.

A reference indicator is set in the program for the performance efficiency rate key. This means that the performance efficiency rate is copied from the resource to the operation and cannot be changed there. If you do not enter a performance efficiency rate key in resource maintenance, the system assumes a performance efficiency rate of 100%.

The standard values in the recipe always refer to a performance efficiency rate of 100%.

Performance efficiency rate keys are defined in Customizing for Resources under Define Key for Efficiency Performance Rate.

The performance efficiency rate key is hidden for the predefined resource categories, but you can activate it in Customizing in the field selection for the resource category.

    Creating Language-Dependent Descriptions

Creating Language-Dependent Descriptions Use You enter descriptions in the logon language. You can later enter further descriptions in other languages. If you logon in one of these languages, the description appears automatically.

Prerequisites You are on the Basic data tab page in resource maintenance and have already entered the description in the logon language.

    Procedure 1. Choose Descrpts.

This calls up the Short Texts dialog box.

    Processing Default Values

Processing Default Values Use To simplify the maintenance of master recipes and process orders, you can enter default values for certain operation, phase, and secondary resource fields in the resource master record.

Features Some of the default values you can maintain include:

Wage data, such as wage type or wage group Qualifications required of an employee working at this resource The control key The standard text key Referencing Default Values You can set a reference indicator for each default value of the resource to specify whether the default value is referenced in the recipe. This implies the following:

The default value can only be changed in resource maintenance and not in the recipe.

Changes to the default values in the resource are automatically transferred to the recipe.

If you delete the reference indicator in resource maintenance, the default value can be changed again in the recipe.

If you change data in resource maintenance, only the data that has the reference indicator set is changed in the recipe. The data is updated when you call up the recipe again.

Reference indicators are automatically set for the performance efficiency rate key.

Standard Text Key You can use the standard text key to have a standard text, which has already been created for common process descriptions, suggested for the operation. Capacity Data Maintenance

Capacity Data Maintenance Use You assign capacity data to a resource to define the ability of this resource to carry out tasks in certain periods of time. You require capacity data as a basis for capacity requirements planning and the scheduling of master recipes and process orders.

You can create capacities that are used by several resources (for example, line operators) as pooled capacities that are independent of resources and then assign them to resources. See also Capacity Maintenance. [Page 81]

The screens and data fields in resource maintenance correspond for the most part to those in capacity maintenance.

Activities You assign a capacity category to the resource and, depending on the resource category, a capacity type:

For resources that are used in production, a capacity category with available capacity in a time unit

For resources that are used for storage, a capacity category with available capacity in a volume unit / unit of measure

For resources that are used in storage and in production, a capacity category with available capacity in a time unit and in a volume unit / unit of measure

The capacity type is assigned to a capacity category in Customizing.

For resources used in production you maintain:

A formula for calculating the capacity requirements for internal processing A formula for distributing the capacity requirements You maintain capacity header data (with a standard available capacity or an available capacity in volume / quantity). This includes:

General data, such as the responsible planner group For resources used in production, data that defines a standard available capacity that is

time-related, such as work start and finish, break time duration, rate of capacity utilization, number of individual capacities, and the factory calendar on which the available capacity is based

For resources with a storage function, data that defines a quantity or volume-related available capacity, such as the minimum and maximum commitment and the number of individual capacities

If required, you create various versions of an available capacity.

    Cost Allocation to Cost Centers

Cost Allocation to Cost Centers Use You can cost operations carried out at a resource by assigning a cost center to the resource.

    Integration Cost Centers

A cost center is a part of a company which is defined according to responsibility, location or billing areas. It is assigned to a controlling area.

    Activity Types

Activity types are used to define the different types of activities within a cost center. They are defined in the controlling area.

Activity types are valuated per cost center and period with a charge rate which is made up of a fixed portion and a variable (work-related) portion. The charge rate with which in-house production activities are to be costed is determined by these activity types.

Prerequisites The cost center to which you want to link the resource already exists and belongs to the controlling area of the plant of the resource.

Features You can assign a resource to exactly one cost center for a given validity period.

Several resources from various plants can be assigned to one cost center. However, the resources must belong to the company code of the cost center.

You can assign an activity type that is valid for the cost center to each standard value of the resource. The activity type appears as a default value in the routing. You can also keep an activity type from being changed in the routing by setting a reference indicator.

Activity types that are defined in a controlling area and can be referenced in the resource are valuated in the cost center.

Assignments to Objects in the Personnel System (HR)

Assignments to Objects in the Personnel System (HR) Definition Assignments link objects from the personnel system (HR), such as a person or a qualification, to a resource or capacity in Logistics (LO).

Use HR object assignments allow you, for example, to specify employees and the minimum qualification for the resource or the capacity in Logistics.

Structure For each assignment, you must enter a valid time period. A position or a person can only be assigned to one resource or capacity at a time.

Resource Assignments to HR Objects You can either make a resource assignment to an HR organizational unit or to an HR work center. If you make a resource assignment to an HR work center, you can link the resource to the following HR objects:

    Persons

You can assign people to a resource to specify which employees are to work at this specific resource.

    Positions

Established and approved posts are positions. You can make a resource assignment to a position to document that the resource belongs to this position. As a rule, this is a labor resource.

    Qualifications

You can assign qualifications to a resource to establish the minimum education or skill-level required of an employee who is to work at this resource.

    Requirements profile

A requirements profile contains several qualifications.

Capacity Assignments to HR Objects Resource capacities and pooled capacities can be linked directly to HR objects, such as people and positions. Capacity assignments cannot be made to HR organizational units and HR work centers.

Integration Resources and capacities in Logistics can only be linked to HR objects if the personnel system (HR) is in use.

    Resource Hierarchy

Resource Hierarchy Definition A resource hierarchy consists of several hierarchically structured resources. One resource can be part of several different resource hierarchies. Except for the top of the hierarchy - the hierarchy root - each resource is subordinate to another resource in the resource hierarchy.

Use A resource hierarchy cumulates available capacity and capacity requirements in capacity planning.

Available capacities of subordinate resources in one hierarchy level are cumulated to a superior resource.

A resource hierarchy can be created for the whole plant.

See also: Example: Resource Hierarchy [Page 52]

    You use resource hierarchies:

Especially in rough-cut planning and medium-term planning to check available capacity and capacity requirements of a resource group without having to consider the available capacity and capacity requirements of all subordinate individual resources

    Creating a Resource Hierarchy

Creating a Resource Hierarchy Purpose You use resource hierarchies [Page 51] to determine a total available capacity or the total capacity requirements for a number of resources.

In this process, you create resource hierarchies and assign resources to the hierarchy levels of the resource hierarchies.

Prerequisites The resources used are already created in the system.

Process Flow To create a resource hierarchy, the following is required:

    1. You must create a hierarchy [Page 54].

You can only do this in hierarchy maintenance.

    2. You must assign resources to the hierarchy and arrange the resources hierarchically.

You can do this in hierarchy maintenance and in resource maintenance.

    In hierarchy maintenance

When you create or change a hierarchy, you can assign resources to the hierarchy. For more information on how to do this, see Creating Resource Hierarchies [Page 54] and Assigning Resources in Resource Maintenance [Page 56].

To arrange the resources hierarchically, you must call up the hierarchy graphic [Page 59]. Here you can display and process the hierarchy structure.

    In resource maintenance

When you create or change a resource, you can assign it to the hierarchy. When assigning a resource to a hierarchy, you must either define it as a hierarchy root or enter a superior resource. For more information, see Assigning Resources in Resource Maintenance [Page 56].

You can only rearrange the resources in the hierarchy graphic, which you call up in hierarchy maintenance.

    The Hierarchy Detail screen appears.

    4. To define a resource as a root, set the Root indicator. By doing this, you place the resource at the highest level of the hierarchy.

A resource can only be defined as a hierarchy root if the hierarchy does not already have a root.

    5. If required, enter a superior resource.

If you do not define the resource as the hierarchy root and you do not enter a superior resource, the resource will not be assigned to the hierarchy.

    6. Set the Stop explosion indicator.

You can use this indicator to specify that when cumulating available capacity starting with the resource for which the indicator is set, the hierarchy may not be exploded further downward. You may want to do this if, for example, the available capacity of this resource is to be larger than the cumulated available capacity of the subordinate resources.

If you have specified the hierarchy level up to which capacity cumulation is to take place and set the Stop explosion indicator in the resource, available capacities of this hierarchy branch will only be cumulated up to this resource.

    7. Choose .

Result The resources are assigned to the hierarchy.

    Resource Networks

Resource Networks Definition A resource network describes the physical links between resources such as processing units of a line (vessels, reactors). It describes the flow of materials through a line or plant.

Use You often have to use processing units in a specific sequence. To specify the sequence in which the resources are used, you can define predecessor and successor relationships between resources in the form of resource networks.

If several resources are available that can be used for similar purposes, it is a good idea to decide which ones to use just before production begins. For this purpose, you can define a planning resource that is only used for planning and represents several resources that can be used in the same way.

Integration You use resource networks in process planning when you want to specify in which sequence the resources can be used in production.

Resource networks are used in the process order during resource selection.

  • SAP AG Resource (PP-PI-MD)

    Example: Resource Network

Example: Resource Network The following graphic shows the relationships of different resources in a resource network. The network represents the sequence in which the resources are used in the production of a batch. For example, charging takes place in charge vessel B1 before the material is processed in reaction vessel R1; both actions occur before the material is discharged from the cooling tank E1. The resources B1 and R1 are in a predecessor-successor relationship with each other, as is the case for the resources R1 and E1.

The reaction vessels R1 and R2 represent equal resources. In the production process, either one can be selected for the transfer of the batch from charge vessel B1 to a reaction vessel. R1 and R2 can be replaced by a planning resource in the planning phase.

    Creating a Resource Network

Creating a Resource Network Purpose You use resource networks [Page 62] to specify the sequence in which the resources are to be used in production.

In this process, you create a resource network, assign resources to it, and specify certain predecessor / successor relationships between the resources.

Prerequisites The resources used are already created in the system.

Process Flow 1. In resource network maintenance, you create a resource network (see also Creating a

    Resource Network [Page 65]).

    2. You assign resources to the resource network. You can use a network graphic to do this (see also Assigning Resources to a Resource Network [Page 66]).

    3. You determine predecessor / successor relationships between the assigned resources.

    4. If required, you can display the connections in resource maintenance or in resource network maintenance.

    5. You save the resource network.
