Repairs and Refurbishment

To replenish quality equipment can be an unallocated capital expense, but repairing damaged products could dramatically increase the life span of your Returnable Transit Packaging. Our experienced team at PPS provide a comprehensive repair and maintenance service which includes work on both metal and plastic structures at our facility in Marchington, Staffordshire.

A maintenance contract ensures that your equipment is fit for purpose and also prevents health and safety issues created by having damaged kit on your site. We work closely with customers who have unique packaging to determine the scale of repair. Not all equipment can be saved but we are successful in achieving a high percentage turnaround.

Our advanced microprocessor extrusion welding technology allows us to offer a range of plastic repairs in polyethylene and polypropylene. This material has excellent impact strength and low distortion even at low temperatures. Our engineers also weld in mild and stainless steels.

PPS currently operates two equipment washing sites, which are both equipped with modern state-of-the-art facilities. Our two sites house a number of industrial wash lines with the capabilities to hygienically clean all types of returnable equipment from plastic trays to bulk bins and pallets.

Accredited to BRC, PPS provides wash services to a wide range of sectors including meat, fish, dairy, retail, bakery and automotive.

The wash process includes:

• High pressure and high temperature washing

• Swab testing

• Protective wrapping

• Label removal

• Inspection

• Drying

PPS provides equipment washing as part of our full service contract where we wash, rent and manage equipment for our customers. Our wash service is also available to customers who own their equipment pool on medium or long-term contracts or even on an ad hoc basis.

Automotive Box Wash

PPS operates two modern wash plants where we clean all different types of returnable equipment including plastic boxes, pallets and collapsible pallet boxes. Our wash service includes protective wrapping and inspection before the equipment is returned to prevent any contamination.

Automotive Box Drying

Box drying is of upmost importance to the automotive industry to prevent any damage being incurred to the new product being transported in the plastic box. To provide this service PPS has a state of the art box drying facility at our Marchington site to ensure that all automotive boxes are dry before being dispatched. Once dry the boxes are shrink wrapped to prevent and contamination during transport.

PPS is Moving Returnable Packaging Forward… & Lowering WastePPS has been providing returnable box, crate and plastic pallet rental systems for over 10 years to clients throughout the UK and Europe. We receive your order, deliver the agreed volume of the packaging to you, collect the used units from your clients, wash them at our industrial wash plants, and then the process is repeated. Our returnable packaging is gradually replacing one trip packaging such as cardboard boxes in the

meat and fresh produce sectors, and expanded polystyrene boxes in the seafood industry.

Hygienically Washing Returnable Packaging for You…We currently have two modern and hygienic dedicated wash plants in the Midlands and in Grimsby where we wash all our own returnable packaging. We also wash returnable packaging for third parties on ad hoc or contract basis.

Our total equipment solutions include the rental of the packaging medium, management of the equipment pool by means of our proprietary online asset tracking system, collection of used equipment from third parties to be washed and then returned to the rental pool.
