A JV company viz., Karnataka Solar Power Development
Corporation Private Limited “KSPDCPL” has been formed
on 12th March 2015 between SECI, GoI and KREDL, GoK for
development of Ultra mega solar parks in Karnataka.
Consequently the name has been changed to KSPDCL on
28.09.2015
KSPDCL has identified the following backward districts asper recommendations of Nanjundappa committee forestablishment of solar parks in Karnataka:◦ Pavagada Taluk, Tumkur District◦ Sirasangi, Savadatti Tq, Belagavi district.◦ Hagaribommanahalli Tq, Bellary District.◦ Hulikatti, Savadatti Tq, Belagavi district.◦ Yellamanagudda, Savadatti Tq, Belagavi district.◦ Yakapura, Kalaburgi District.
Formation of new company to overseedevelopment of solar parks in Karnataka
Firstly, it is proposed to develop 2000MW solar park
at Pavagada Taluk, Tumkur District. 11,000 acres of
land identified in 5 villages viz., Balasamudra,
Tirumani, Kyataganacharlu, Vallur & Rayacharlu.
DPR for solar Park has been prepared by M/s. PWC.
Application for Grid connectivity and Long Term
Access made with Powergrid on 24.06.2015.

27.02.2015: GoK accorded approval for formation of KSPDCL.
19.03.2015: MNRE accorded approval to set up 2000MW Pavagada Solar
Park.
14.10.2015: GoK vide notification approved to acquire identified land of
Kythaganacharlu, Valluru, Ballasamudra, Thirumani & Rayacharlu Villages
of Nagalamadike Hobli, Pavagada Taluk, Tumkur District by KSPDCL for
setting up of 2000 MW Pavagada Solar park.
14.12.2015: NOC issued by Forest Dept., GoK to the effect that "No
Reserved" or "No Semi Reserved" Forest Region exists in the area
earmarked (viz., Vallur, Tirumani, Ballasamudra, Kyataganacharlu and
Rayacharlu) for establishing 2000MW Pavagada Solar Park”.
29.10.2015: GoK accorded approval to the proposal of KSPDCL to establish
Solar park with all the infrastructure facilities for 2000MW solar power
generation at around 11000 acres of land indentified at above 5 villages
on 30 year lease rental basis.
KSPDCL has opened website with URL www.kspdcl.in.

Reserved' or 'No Semi Reserved' Forest Region exists in the area earmarked

Land allotment
11000 Acres has been identified by KSPDCL for development of
2000MW Pavagada Solar Park .
Out of 2016 nos. of lan d owners, 1115 nos of land owners have
submitted consent letters.
330 applications have been submitted to DC office for obtaining
conversion fine of individual farmers.
It is proposed to enter into Lease Agreements with the land owners
w.e.f. 18-01-2016.
Entire area of 11000 acres required for solar park will be under
KSPDCL possession by 18-02-2016.

NTPC has invited tenders for selection of Solar Power Developers for
600MW.NTPC has been allotted 250MW each in Block 6 (Thirumani) & Block 7
(Rayacharlu) & 100MW in Block 5(Thirumani)
• NTPC has been allotted 600MW under JNNSMscheme in Pavagada Solar Park.
• Out of 600MW,
500MW under open category &
100 MW under DCR category
• 250MW in Thirumani village: Block 6 (open)
• 250MW in Rayacharlu village: Block 7 (open)
• 100MW in Thirumani village: part of Block5(DCR)
• Solar Power Developer will have toconstruct 66/11 kV pooling substation foronward transmission of power generatedfrom their units.
• 66kV voltage to be stepped to 220kV levelfor which 8 No.s of 220/66 kV PoolingSubstations along with other infrastructureare proposed to be executed on totalturnkey basis for evacuation 2000MWpower.
• For evacuation of power from solar park, a400/220KV substation is planned inside thesolar park premises to be built by M/sPGCIL.
Evacuation Scheme
KSPDCL has invited tender on 09-12-2015 for establishing 4 nos of 2 x 150 MVA,
220/66kV stations at Nagalamadike Hobli in Pavagada Taluk, Tumkur District along
with connected Transmission lines and Terminal Bays on Total Turnkey Basis, in two
lots ( Lot1 & Lot 2 ) as under:
LOT 1:
• Establishing 2x150MVA, 220/66kV sub station at Tirumani Sy no. 154/2,3,4 & 5
• Establishing 2x150MVA, 220/66kV sub station at Tirumani Sy no. 131/1 & 2
• Establishing 2x150MVA, 220/66kV sub station at Rayacharlu Sy no. 225/1,2 & 3
• Establishing 2x150MVA, 220/66kV sub station at Rayacharlu Sy no. 175
• Construction of 220kV SC line for a distance of 12kms
• 220kV DC line for a distance of 4 kms and
• 220 kv multi circuit line for a distance of 11kms from the proposed 220/66kV
substation, in solar park to PGCIL station in solar par
LOT 2:
• Establishing 2x150MVA, 220/66kV sub station at Kyataganacharlu Sy no. 44
• Establishing 2x150MVA, 220/66kV sub station at Vallur Sy no. 242
• Establishing 2x150MVA, 220/66kV sub station at Vallure Sy no. 166
• Establishing 2x150MVA, 220/66kV sub station at Ballasamudra Sy no.35/2
