WARSAW CONVENTION:
WARSAW CONVENTION
I. The Warsaw Convention was a convention that took
place in Warsaw, on 12th October 1929.
II. The principal purpose of the Warsaw Convention was
to determine the liability of air carriers in the case of
an accident, both in regards to passengers and also
baggage and cargo.
III. In particular, the Warsaw Convention mandates
carriers to issue passenger tickets.
CHICAGO CONVENTION:CHICAGO CONVENTION
I. It was formed in Chicago, Illinois, on 7
December 1944.
II. 54 nations met at Chicago from November 1 to
December 7, 1944, to "make arrangements for
the immediate establishment of provisional
world air routes and services“.
III. The document was signed on December7, 1944
in Chicago, Illinois, by 52 signatory states.
IV. And went into effect on April 4, 1947, the same
date that ICAO came into being.
Requirement and how the International Travel Organizations like
International Air Transport Association (IATA) and United Federation of Travel Agents’ Associations (UFTAA) are helping to me and the
industry are mentioned below:
IATA serves as an intermediary between airlines and passenger as well as cargo agents via neutrally applied agency service standards and centralized financial systems.
IATA helps airlines to help themselves by simplifying processes and increasing passenger convenience while reducing costs and improving efficiency.
UFTAA deals with the problems of in relation to travel industry, developing and recommending to its members new or improved professional techniques for the benefit of travel agent.
UFTAA provides an insurance policy to traveling public known as “UFTAA EXTRA SURE”.
