Akogun (Secretary) T he Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Sulyman Age Abdulkareem, has approved the re-constitution of an Environmental Protection and Monitoring Committee. This followed the directive of the University Council after its 159th meeting held on June 28, 2018. A statement by the Registrar, Dr. (Mrs.) Folaranmi Olowoleni, highlighted the functions of the Committee to include: ensuring that the University environment is always kept clean; monitoring the activities of workers for effective and efficient maintenance of the University environment; encouraging competition between Faculties and Registry Departments; identifying areas of urgent attention and proffering solutions and to perform any other relevant tasks. The Minister of State for Niger Delta Affairs, Prof. Claudius Daramola, has advised the staff of the University of Ilorin not to put their financial eggs in a single basket. He said they
