Phi Facts: Flower: Lily of the Valley Colors: Green & White Mascot: Giraffe Gem: Pearl Crest: The three columns, Stand for faculty approval, student esteem and sorority fidelity Open Motto: Many Hearts, One Purpose Tag Line: Above All Else Alpha Epsilon Phi was founded by seven Jewish women; Helen Phillips, Ida Beck, Rose Gerstein, Augustina "Tina" Hess, Lee Reiss, Rose Salmowitz and Stella Strauss; at Barnard College in New York on October 24, 1909. This sorority would endeavor to foster lifelong friendship and sisterhood, academics, social involvement and community service, all the while providing a home away from home for its members. InthefallforSharsheretBreastCancerweholdourevent“TacosforTatas”atalocalrestaurantintown.Atthiseventwehavegames,karaokeandraffles.

InthespringwefocusonEGPAFandholdourannualAIDSwalkthroughoutcampuswherestudentsandcommunitymembersparticipateandgiveback.

Eachsemesterweraiseover$1000forourphilanthropiesandcontinuetoraisethebartodomoreeachsemester.

RushAephi?Firstoffwhatis“rushing”?RushingatNewPaltzisa3weekprocessthathappensatthestartofeachsemester,itisatimewhereyougettoseeifyouareinterestedinasororityandwhichonebestfitsyou.Therearenumerouseventsthatyoucanattendwhereyougettomeetsistersandothermembersofgreeklifewhilehavingfun!Whenyouarerushingthereisnoobligationtoanythingatallandyoucanstopatanytime,itislaidbackandnohardfeelingsifyoudecidethatitisnotforyou,butatleastyoutried!
