Both special education and general education teachers want to see their students succeed in school and in life. The challenge today is that the diversity of abilities continues to widen in our classrooms and more students with special needs are included in the general education classroom. Now, more than ever, teachers need to discover the power of co‑teaching to better meet all learners’ needs. This seminar will offer you proven methods and inspiration for making co‑teaching work in your classroom and school.

I started the co‑teaching program in my district when I realized many of the special education students in my resource room could truly benefit by learning from content area experts, knowing that they still needed some additional support from me. I knew my students would learn more from a co‑teaching approach. What I wasn’t expecting was how co‑teaching would change my world as an educator. I learned that two heads really are better than one, especially when it comes to finding ways to meet the needs of struggling learners.

My passion and enthusiasm for helping all students succeed has drawn me to share what I and so many others have discovered. Co‑teaching can be the most rewarding and invigorating teaching experience you will have as an educator. You will help more students become successful learners, learn new teaching techniques from your colleagues, better understand content area concepts, and much, much more!
