Access to the Conference
You have to register and pay the registration fee to have access to the Conference. The Conference registration can be processed online or via fax. The EU PVSEC Dinner can additionally be booked in every registration category. Participants of certain countries may need a visa. For comprehensive information about the Conference registration and to get to the online registration area, please visit: Conference Registration If you have already registered, you can pick-up your badge and your conference material on-site at the Conference Registration Desk in the foyer at the main entrance.
Access to Intersolar Europe as a visitor
As EU PVSEC Conference Delegate, you can visit the Intersolar Europe Exhibition for free. If you want to buy a visitor ticket only, please contact Intersolar directly.
Access to the EU PVSEC Parallel Events

Payment of Registration Fees / Tickets
Access to the Conference is only permitted after full and successful payment of the respective registration fee of the chosen category/period. You may pay via bank transfer or via credit cards. Visa card, Master card and American Express cards are accepted.

Invitation letters
For Conference Delegates
Conference Delegates must be an author of an accepted and confirmed paper or must have registered and paid the required registration fees before requesting an official letter of invitation for visa purposes. Authors can download their invitation letter within the registration process in the user profile, as soon as they received their official notification letter of abstract acceptance by the programme secretariat (Jon de Gregorio, [email protected], phone 089-72012723). If you are not an author, you can download your invitation letter only after complete, successful registration including full payment of your registration fee.

Coffee Breaks
Coffee Breaks are included in the Conference fee. They will be served in the Conference breaks in hall B0.
Welcome Reception
On Monday, 20 June at 18:30, the Welcome Reception will take place in Hall B0 and is free for all Conference participants. Come and meet your colleagues of the PV community and celebrate the EU PVSEC 2016 as a major networking platform for the global PV Solar sector.

Networking Lunch
We are pleased to inform you that a networking lunch will be available for interested delegates from Monday to Thursday, 20 – 23 June in a dedicated networking area in exclusive ambiance, directly in the ICM Munich. The networking lunch will be served in buffet style, and is convenient for both meat lovers and vegetarians. If you suffer from any allergies (e.g. gluten, lactose), please inform us, we will make sure to adapt your menu appropriately. The buffet comprises the following:

The EU PVSEC 2016 Conference Dinner takes place in the Restaurant Hirschau which is located in the idyllic landscape of Munich’s green lung, the “English Garden”. Hirschau is renowned for its upscale traditional cuisine with Bavarian specialities. The EU PVSEC shuttle bus will bring you from ICM Munich at around 18:45 - 19:00 to Hirschau. Drink original Bavarian beer or delicious wine and just enjoy the evening with your colleagues and other EU PVSEC PV experts. A special dedicated Networking Lunch could be booked prior to the event. Tickets are not available on-site. For those who did not include Networking Lunch tickets in their registration, there is a wide range of cafés and restaurants around the ICM and numerous snack bars in the exhibition halls.

The List of Participants is the official list of attendees of the EU PVSEC 2016 and will be available on-site at the Conference Registration Desk.
Information Centre
Our organisation and registration team will be glad to assist you on-site for any information and help you might need during the event. In addition there will be information boards, situated close to the registration desks. A Programme / Info Board shows the Conference Programme for the entire week, including all last-minute changes. It also serves as reference for checking further details of the Conference and social programme. We kindly ask you to check these boards on a regular basis.

Lost and found items can be recovered at the registration desks located in the foyer at the main entrance.

There are no lockers in the ICM, but there are wardrobes / cloakrooms at the main entrance next to registration area.

Cash Machines / Exchange Facilities
Messe Munich features several ATMs. Two of them are operated by ReiseBank (Travel Bank) in the West Entrance, ground floor, and on the 1st floor along the Expressway between Halls B3 and B4. Stadtsparkasse München (Munich Savings Bank) has three cash machines, located on the ground floor of the East Entrance (near the corridor to Hall B6), the North Entrance (under the stairs) and the Northwest Entrance (in the passageway to the parking garage).
Parking Facilities
The ICM provides enough parking space for both EU PVSEC and Intersolar Delegates. The parking lot and the Parkhaus West parking garage open at 7am and close two hours after the event ends. The rate is 8 € for 24 hours (parking areas at the open-air ground) or 10€ for 24 hours (parking garage).

Visual Presentations
Visuals are presentations in form of a poster. It should concentrate on the outstanding features of a project, and should present data in a way easily grasped by the viewer, with a minimum of text. It will be visible to the participants every day of the conference week and the speaker is free to stand by it and present the work at any time. To guarantee maximum information exchange the author will present at the poster during a specific time. More information can be found in the EU PVSEC Conference Programme. Closing Session
The Conference Closing will take place on Friday, 24 June at 11:30 in the Auditorium Room 5. All EU PVSEC participants are invited to attend this session which encompasses the Conference Summaries, the EU PVSEC Student Awards, the Awards for Outstanding Visual Presentations and concluding presentations.

In addition to the Conference Programme and the PV Industry Exhibition, the EU PVSEC Parallel Events offer a deep insight into specific topics along the most resent technology, market and business trends and address to global decision makers from industry, research, finance and politics. The Instructions below include important information on how to prepare and submit your manuscripts for publication in the EU PVSEC Proceedings.
Plenary / Oral Presentations
Speakers of Plenary and Oral presentations hand in their presentation/s at the Presenters’ Desk. A technician will control the correct functionality and transfer the presentation to the respective auditorium. Further details regarding Plenary/Oral Presentations can be found in the Notes for Authors. Speakers and Chairpersons of Plenary and Oral sessions meet 15 minutes prior to the start of their session in the respective auditorium in order to be briefed and to become acquainted with audio-visual aid.

Visual / Poster Presentations
Authors of Visual presentations are requested to set up their posters on the allotted boards as early as possible on Monday morning, 20 June and to take them down on Thursday, 23 June, after the last session at 18:30. All Visual presentations should be presented through the full 4 days from Monday to Thursday in the Poster Area. The panel at your disposal will have a maximum display area measuring 0.85 m wide x 1.20 m high. This allows posters of up to A0 format (841 mm x 1189 mm, upright format). The boards will be numbered according to the Conference Programme. Please find all detailed guidelines in the Notes for Authors of Visual Presentations. Authors of posters are requested to be in-situ at their posters at the session time indicated in the Programme Brochure, in order to present their paper to the audience and to create a Q&A session.
Publication of manuscripts in the EU PVSEC Proceedings
Authors need to deliver their manuscript at the “Delivery of Manuscripts” Desk in order to be published in the EU PVSEC 2016 Proceedings. If the manuscript is not delivered during the Conference, your paper cannot be published in the Proceedings. The Instructions for Preparation of Papers are available for download on the EU PVSEC website. The EU PVSEC 2016 Proceedings contains all scientific papers, which have been presented at the EU PVSEC 2016 and have also been submitted for publication at the “Delivery of Manuscript” on site. It constitutes a comprehensive source of state-of-the-art information and vital point of reference for researchers, technologists, decision-makers, entrepreneurs and all involved in the global PV sector. The EU PVSEC Proceedings will be available online from August 2016.

Awards for the best Visual Presentations 2016
Considered as one of the main features of the Conference the most outstanding visual presentations will be awarded. The award giving procedures were based on the quality of the contents reported and on the quality of the presentation.
EU PVSEC 2016 Student Awards
To encourage high-quality work among young researchers, the EU PVSEC Student Awards are delivered in recognition of the most remarkable and outstanding research work in the field of PV on the occasion of the EU PVSEC 2016.
Peer Review Process
A selected number of the highest scored abstracts from every Conference Subject will be invited to be peer reviewed and published by the renowned scientific journal ‘Progress in Photovoltaics’. This publication will be made in addition to the publication in the EU PVSEC Conference Proceedings. Publications in Progress in Photovoltaics are scheduled after the EU PVSEC 2016. How to reach
The ICM – International Congress Center Munich is located in Munich-Riem and is easy to reach from every direction. Whether you're arriving by plane, train, car, or public transportation, you always enjoy the best connection to the Venue.
By train
From Munich Central Station (Hauptbahnhof), take the U2 subway (U-Bahn) line direction Messestadt Ost and stop at Messestadt West.
By public transportation
The ICM – International Congress Center Munich is directly connected to Munich’s public transportation system, which is fast, reliable and environmentally-friendly.

The Congress Center is located directly at the stop ‘Messestadt West’ and takes only 20 minutes from the city center.
The U2 subway (U-Bahn) line direction Messestadt Ost runs from 4:00 in the morning to 1:00 at night, and takes you directly to the ICM.
During peak travel times on weekdays, the U2 runs every 5 minutes:
07:30 - 10:10 from the Central Station (Hauptbahnhof) 15:10 - 18:55 from Messestadt West
By car
Road signs on the outskirts of town and throughout the entire city indicate the way to Messe Munich and the ICM. The ICM is located directly on the A94. Take either freeway exit Feldkirchen-West (Exit Nr. 6) or München-Riem (Exit Nr. 5). On the event centre grounds, a dynamic traffic control system will regulate the flow of traffic. It will direct you to the free parking spaces closest to the event centre. Notes for automotive navigation systems:
Depending on which navigation system you have, you’ll find the Messe Munich along with the ICM in the category “event centers” or “exhibition grounds”, or under the keyword “trade fair”
Some GPS navigation systems allow you to choose between the centre’s East, West, and North Entrances. If this is the case, choose the West Entrance (Am Messesee, 81829 München).

By plane
At Munich Airport, you’ll enjoy excellent national, inter-European and international flights. With approximately 10 Million passengers a year, the airport is ranked number one in Germany. Its 106 airlines, 73 direct flights and 244 destinations make Munich an attractive destination. See the Munich Airport website for flight connections www.munich-airport.de.
Directly below the central area of the Munich Airport, you’ll find the suburban train (S-Bahn) lines S1 and S8. Every 10 minutes a train departs for the city center. Depending on the route you choose, the ride takes between 45 and 60 minutes.
Public transportation routes to the ICM
From the airport take the S1 or the S8 to Munich Hauptbahnhof (central train station). Transfer to the U2 direction Messestadt Ost and get off at Messestadt West. The ICM can be reached in a short walking distance.
Alternatively take the S8 from the airport to the stop Ostbahnhof. Transfer to the U5 direction Neuperlach Süd and ride one station to the stop Innsbrucker Ring. From the same platform, transfer to the U2 direction Messestadt Ost and get off at Messestadt West. The ICM can be reached in a short walking distance.

Public transportation System
Munich has an extensive public transportation system. It consists of a network of underground (U-Bahn), suburban trains (S-Bahn), trams and buses. Subway stations are marked with signs showing a white "U" on a blue background. The S-Bahn suburban lines are marked with a white "S" on a green background. Tram and bus stops are marked with a green "H" inside a green circle on a yellow background. In general Munich’s transport network is easily accessible for those with walking difficulties or heavy luggage, with lifts and ramps.
The price for a single ticket for short distances for one person is € 1,40 and is suitable
for up to four stops on all transportation means, but only two stops of these on U- or S-
Bahn, valid for one hour
For a longer distance you may need a single ticket at the cost of € 2,70 which is
suitable for one single trip in one direction, valid for three hours.
The price of a single day ticket is depending on the zone of the destination:

Depending on your needs you can furthermore choose between several kinds of group and daily
tickets to save money, for example the City Tour Card. The City Tour Card cost a bit more than the
Day Tickets. It serves the same purpose, but offers additionally discounts on many museums and
tourists attractions.
Planning your journey
Before seeing the sights, you may wish to consult the MVV website to help you find the quickest
and most convenient way to get from A to B. In addition, there are a number of excellent apps
available to help you find your way around the city.

Regardless of how many people board the taxi, fares are based on a basic fare plus a minimum of one rate increment or waiting time plus any surcharges.
The basic fare is € 3,70
Rate per kilometre for up to 5 kilometres: € 1,90
Rate per kilometre for 5 to 10 kilometres: € 1,70
Rate per kilometre for more than 10 kilometres: € 1,60
There is a flat fare of 63 euros to travel directly from Munich Airport to the ICM.
Country Code / Telephone
The international access code for Germany is +49. Phone cards can be purchased at kiosks and internet/phone shops. Mobile phones with GSM-standard do work without any problems in Germany.
Electricity
The standard power supply in Germany is 230 V AC as in most countries of Western Europe. A transformer and an adapter are necessary to use electrical appliances from various countries. Adapters are available in most hardware stores.
Time Zone
Germany is in the Central European Time Zone. Central European Standard Time (CET) is 1 hour ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT+1).

Most department stores and supermarkets are open from Monday to Saturday from 08:00 in the morning to 20:00 in the evening.
Banks/ Banking Facilities
Cash machines are available throughout the city and accept most of the common used international cards. Credit cards are accepted in most hotels, restaurants and shops. The bank opening hours in Munich are from Monday to Friday 08:00-13:00 and 14:00-18:00.
Post Offices
Post offices are generally open from 08:00/09:00 - 18:00 (Mon-Fri) / 08:00/09:00 – noon (Sat).
Restaurants Restaurants are generally open between 11:00-14:00 and 17:00-22:00. There are several restaurants near the venue, which offer all kinds of foods for every budget.
Pharmacies Most pharmacies are open from around 8:00-18:00 (Mon-Fri) and from 10:00 - 18:00 on Saturdays (closed on Sundays).
