 Dear Readers,

The institute has a new identity - to help it carve out a distinct image from its older sibling Institute of Information in Technology & Management (IITM). In the 2nd  issue of the Newsletter, I am

pleased to introduce the new abbreviation of the institute as IITM (JP), where JP stands for Janakpuri. This was finally decided by the Management after considerable deliberation and thought process over the last 1 year.

Activities in IITM (JP) have acquired considerable momentum in the  institute‘s  second year of existence. The family has been enriched by the addition of 450 students in the 2010-13 academic session & faculty and staff strength has doubled as

a consequence. The institute was also chosen as Examination Centre for BBA programme in December 2010 by the GGSIP University.

We continue to push forward in our core areas of excellence in teaching and research, while also facilitating all round development of our students in co-curricular & extra-curricular activities. There is lot more to do and we are very excited about the future. The faculty, staff, and students continue to be a great source of inspiration for me and for all of us at IITM (JP). As always, we welcome your input, advice, suggestions, and participation. Please join us in making IITM (JP) the best it can be.

With best regards,

Dr. Vikas Mehra

Director – IITM (JP)

E very human being wants to succeed in life.Success is a great motivation factor but how do we measure success? At individual level we define the success by the amount of wealth, at organizational level this is defined by market capitalization and at national level success is measured by GDP and its growth. The fundamental assumption of free market economy has been the theory of ―Invisible  Hand‖ given by Adam Smith. ―If  every individual operates out of his own self-interest,society as a whole will become successful.‖

But this theory has brought us to the level where we shall need two earth planets by 2030 and six Earth planets by 2050 if current level of consumption of an average American has to be given to everybody on this planet.

Success at individual level should be about living fully-exploring, enjoying, experiencing, loving and caring.Organizations should live like living organisms- living for its own survival rather than living for only its shareholders.

With the present definition of success, average age of a fortune 500 corporation is less than 50 years. At national level, we must remember that Governments do not create wealth, people do. The role of Government is to provide good education, health care, infrastructure, security and law and order to its citizens. Then the success will be measured by human development index rather than GDP.

Mankind has been cruel to the  ‗Mother   Earth‘. We owe some responsibility to our future generations. God has given enough for everyone‘s needs but not enough for greed.

ome mantras for a successful manager 1. Use your natural leadership style. Empathy is a natural leadership style and it works.2. Be adaptable. This is very important. Take on multiple roles. It gives you a sense of what different things are. It is always the survival of the fittest.3. Innovativeness and creative thinking are paramount. You have to have something to say that others have not thought of. That gives you instant credit.4. Think out of the box. That is the shortcut to success. But there is no shortcut for hard work!

Time Management Workshop For Students :February-March 2010

―Institute of Information Technology & Management‖ and ―Institute of Innovation in Technology & Management‖ jointly conducted a Time Management Workshop to assess as to ―How do the present youths spend their time in managing themselves‖ and to equip the Mentors to use this data for mentoring the students so that they may manage themselves better.

A questionnaire was given to each student to provide as to how they spend their time

before and after the college working hours. In all 1250 students responded to this questionnaire from booth the institutes.

Findings

1. In general students are not aware of thesignificance of Time Management to lead a stress

free & purposeful life. 2. Large number of students are spending major

chunk of their time on chatting or Internet with their

friends till late night. 3. Very few students are spending time on self study at home.

4. Only microscopic numbers of students pay attention to their physical & mental wellness. 5. Many students spend their evenings in wandering

around.

Poor Time Management Skills is leading to:

Lack of Sleep Shortcuts in Life

Lack of Focus Poor Results Lack of Purpose Poor Health Poor Career Growth

IITM Recommends Following Schedule for 24 Hours Day for Students:

Sleep - 7 Hours  On Road - 3 Hours Institute - 6 Hours Exercise - 1 Hour Self Study - 3 Hours Personal Life - 4 Hours

Spending time on an activity disproportionate to its usefulness for a student is like spending

your money disproportionate to the value you get in turn.

Har Pal Marne Walon Ko,

Colour Alive...................................!!

My eyes so lonely, tears to shed, hopes dyingwondering if i can climb..

Fear ahead, life goin soo dry,but still i wish one day i could fly..posessions around, no place to residefinding a place to standby..

Postive thoughts still in the air, waiting to let everything go fair..an old man on a chair about to get up,with trust on his stick, to let him walk by...

A baby's smile, being a treasurehis hands holding your finger, true pleasure...a nice music makes your day,a friend's sorrow, can't let it stay

A short life is what you got,you are a winner, atleast give it a shot..love yourself, love your life, happiness around is what i pray.............

Woh paper me setting chalti Pharre mojon me chhupane se .Phir paper me dost ko awaaz dena ‗bhai meri sheet dede, warna phas jaunga tujhe batane se .

Woh katte nahi din , yaaro College nahi jane se.Woh haalat aur kharaab ho jati hai Result ke bin bataye aa jane se.

Phir kharaab result waat lagata hai Museebat badh jaati hai , result ghar walon ko dikhane se.Aur aksar college life kat jaati hai Kuch aise hi kisi bahane se.

IITMAbout IITM-JP Institute of Innovation in Technology and Management (IITM-JP) was established in the year 2009. The vision of this institute is to

nurture excellence in order to produce professional manpower to met the growing demands of industry. IITM –JP has made a distinct mark in the first year of its foundation. It is a ISO-9001-2008 certified undergraduate college of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University —amongst the firsts in Delhi NCR. The first batch of students have brought laurels to

the college in academics and cultural activities. Its students have secured high ranks in the semester examination conducted by GGSIP University. The students have also excelled in ‗ANUGOONJ‘ the annual cultural festival of the university. IITM-JP believes in all-round development of the students with this objective events like the Annual Sports meet and the

Fresher's Meet were celebrated. The journey of IITM-JP has just begun, it has a long way to go. The following lines from the poem by Robert Frost can sum up the future of IITM-JP:-―… The Woods are lovely dark and deep  But I have Promises to keep And miles to go before I sleep…‖

Don’t Disconnect India

India‘s attempt to connect all of its 6,26,000 villages with telecom and broadband services is more

an a grand plan to put a telephone in everyone‘s hands. As we know that in modern era our basiccessities change i.e. now ―  Roti, Kapda, Makaan aur Mobile‖    . If we remove anyone among themen our life become miserable. The idea is great and its about connecting India that will give anportunity to improve various sectors like education, health care and agriculture and introducervices like information technology and business process outsourcing (BPO). To grab suchportunities, we need to keep pace with technological advancements. The recent controversy aroundackBerry services need to be seen in this context.ecent terrorist threats have resulted in a greater need for what is known as a  ‗lawfultersectional‘. As a result, there have been threats to ‗turn  off‘ the BlackBerry Enterprise ServicesBES) because it uses secure encryption . Skype, Yahoo! And Google have also come under theanner, as has any VPN (Virtual Private Network) that transmits encrypted data.

The demands for unlimited access at any time by law enforcement and investigatinggencies are both understandable and a serious concern. But we need a more balanced approach forwful interception. The call for a ban on BES seems to be unreasonable. Its not that Research In

Motion (RIM), the developer of BlackBerry, won‘t give the keys to decrypt its data; its just thatcannot. The government‘s battle is not with BlackBerry but with itself. It is a battle between its

uty to protect us from terrorism and crime and the countervailing duty to protect our privacy.BlackBerry gave access to its messenger on September 1 but maintains that it cannot

nlock enterprise email. As we know that BlackBerry is popular in countries across North America, Europe nd Asia. Many of these nations are under constant threat from terror. Yet none of them has called foran because its not a good solution. What happens if  BlackBerry‘s encrypted email is banned? Nothing.eople will use Pretty Good Privacy (PGP), which offers stronger encryption than  BlackBerry‘s  AES

tandard. Another option is steganography, the art of concealing data in unexpected formats likehotographs. Terrorists will use anonym sing software which make it look like you are in Australia while ou are in Mumbai.

The solution to this threat lies in Upgrade and modernize intelligence and investigatinggencies so that they are equipped with the latest tools and technologies to intercept data.rovide organizations like the National Technical Research Organization with requisite funding tonhance their capabilities so that they can assist law-enforcement and investigating agencies. Preparelawful interception policy that can be implemented uniformly with full cooperation of industry in aay that supports the needs of investigating agencies and protects the data security needs ofooperation's.

Bans and calls for bans are not a solution. They will disconnect India from the rest of the

orld. We cannot allow that to happen, because then terrorists will win without even firing aullet.
