Pray the Memorare 9 times a Day To End Abortion
Recently, the State of New York passed legislation, sadly cheered by many, that would permit abortion right up to the moment of birth. Other states are considering similar laws. These are laws that promote death, not “choice.” On December 31, 2018, the website Breitbart reported that abortion was the leading cause of death worldwide in 2018. According to statistics published by Worldometers: there were more deaths from abortion in 2018 (41.9 million) than all deaths from cancer, malaria, HIV/AIDS, smoking, alcohol, and traffic accidents combined. (Breitbart.com, 12/31/18). The data on abortions displayed on the Worldometers’ counter is based on the latest statistics on worldwide abortions published by the World Health Organization (WHO). According to WHO, every year in the world there are an estimated 40-50 million abortions. This corresponds to approximately 125,000 abortions per day. Think of how many children have been denied life! The staggering number of abortions has led some observers to call abortion the “social justice cause for our time.” It is more than a cause, it is a travesty. As a gift from God, every human life is sacred from conception to natural death. The life and dignity of every person must be respected and protected at every stage and in every condition. The right to life is the first and most fundamental principle of human rights that leads Catholics to actively work for a world of greater respect for human life and greater commitment to justice and peace. What can you do to promote life? In a few words – Pray and Vote. Father Rocky from the Catholic Radio Station Relevant Radio (located at 640 AM on your radio in our area, and a station I highly recommend) is asking Catholics throughout the country to pray 9 Memorares each day for an end to abortion in America. Pray that the culture of death has a conversion of heart and that our country will come to recognize that every life, from conception to natural death, is sacred. Our Lady of Guadalupe, Patroness of our Parish and Patroness of Life, pray for us. God Bless you and your family,
Fr Vince
The Memorare
REMEMBER, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thy intercession was left unaided. Inspired with this confidence, I fly to thee, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother; to thee do I come; before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen. PS...If you would like to be involved in our Respect Life Ministry, please contact our coordinator Mary Ann Chezik @ 609-707-1725. I thank Mary Ann for contributing information to this article.
escuchadlas y acogedlas benignamente. Amén."
