PRAYER CONCERNS
Sandon Hilditch, son of Karen Hilditch is now doing much better and is at home in Liberal, KS. He is still having severe migraines and noises are painful
to him. Karen is able to stay at a nearby hotel that has a kitchenette and is able to prepare food for him and his wife and take it to their home. They are still waiting to see if the tumor is malignant. The surgeon was not able to remove all of the tumor because the center of it encompasses a blood vessel going to the brain. Please continue to pray for Sandon and his family during this time.
Al Smith went to Mercy Heart Hospital Saturday night, July 1st. He was scheduled to have an arteriogram the next day, Sunday, July 2nd. We have not received an update at this time. Please keep him in your prayers. Tim Barton, Joe Akins’, roommate, spent some time at the St. Anthony, Shawnee hospital last week with heart problems. He was able to return home Monday evening, July 3rd and is now doing much better.
FAMILY NEWS
Our God is great. We have several struggling with physical
and spiritual health problems. Please continue to pray for all
those on our prayer list. We also want to continue to be in
prayer for our church family traveling during these summer
months. The Hyde’s will all be in Wyoming for a couple
weeks. You can look forward to hearing lessons from two of
our Shepherd’s, Bob Perry and Dennis Brodersen. I also
want to thank Paul Harris for teaching my Sunday morning
class. Continue to love your neighbors as yourselves and
show the love of God to all those around you. We have our
VBS coming up in about four weeks. Our theme is Growing
Up in the Lord. We will be studying Moses, Daniel, Samuel,
and Jesus when they were young. We also will have Bob
Whiddon from Hope Harbor here to lead a Parenting
Workshop during our VBS. So if you know of anyone who
might be interested in attending a parenting workshop
invite them to our VBS. Their kids can go to VBS classes and
the adults will stay in the auditorium for the workshop. So
continue to pray that God will bless us as we prepare for
VBS and that God will send us lots of kids and parents for
our workshop. Please sign-up to help if you haven’t already.
Get His Word in You.
Technology is so great. It’s amazing all the things
technology can help you with today. I realized there is
one big draw back though. We don’t have to memorize
anything anymore. If you have a smart phone you
don’t need to memorize phone numbers. The internet
gives us answers to almost any question we have at
anytime. Even the Bible is on computers and smart
phones. We need to be careful though not to allow
these technological devices keep us from memorizing
God’s word and getting it inside of us. We need to fill
our lives with the knowledge of God.
“For this reason, since the day we heard about you,
we have not stopped praying for you and asking God
to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all
spiritual wisdom and understanding. 10 And we pray
this in order that you may live a life worthy of the
Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit
in every good work, growing in the knowledge of
God,” Col 1:9-14
Get into God’s Word this week and grow some.
Your brother
Jimmy Hyde
THANK YOU NOTES
To (Our church family) Brothers and
Sisters in Christ, We prayed for several
days that the Lord’s will be done and
our prayers were answered through
you. Your works are a reminder of what Jesus asks of us,
“Trust God with all your heart, with all your soul and with
all your mid and with all your strength.” Mark 12:30-31.
What you have done for us is hard to put in words: Love,
tears of joy, and grateful are some of the emotions we feel.
We are truly blessed to have family like you. Love, Shawn &
Maria (Musgraves)
P.S. God is good all the time and all the time God is good.
I feel so blessed having such a loving and caring Church
family and friends. Thank you cannot come close to cover
how much you generous gift means to us and how this will
help us so much. I also want to thank you for all the cards,
pphone calls, loving support and prayers. They are what
have kept us going through this waiting period of unknown.
Please continue to pray for my son Sandon, and his upcom-
ing brain surgery this Thursday morning. I don’t now what I
would do without all your loving support during this time
and what’s to come.
Love, Karen & Chris Hilditch

YOUTH NEWS By NATHAN KELLY
A big thank you to goes out to Joe Curtis for driving the kids to the Area Wide Teen Gathering on Monday. He had a van full and I was pleased to see that. I was also pleased that he left before the storms hit. Our next AWTG is on June 10 at Noble. I will talk to the driver and figure out when the departure time will be. Also, thank you for the Hyde’s for hosting the dinner-n-devo. We actually have another one on July 16 at the McKnight home. I know what you’re thinking, “Two dinner-n-devo’s in one month. Are you crazy?” Yes, yes we are that crazy.
Has your worship ever been threatened by the distraction of someone’s appearance? This happened to me at our last AWTG. The speaker got up on the stage wearing shorts. There was nothing wrong with him wearing shorts, but it caught me off guard and it’s not something I’m used to. It took some quick personal reminders to get my focus off his appearance and on his message. Paul writes in Galatians 1:10 that he is not out to seek the approval of others but of God. He even re-states Jesus’ words that you can’t be the slave of two masters. The speaker was an excellent speaker, and had I focused on his shorts too much, I would have missed a great lesson. He doesn’t need my approval of what he wears, and honestly I would have been in the minority of this opinion. When we serve and worship, we can’t let minor details, like breaking traditions, distract us from our true focus.
“We are more than conquerors through
Him that loved us.”
Romans 8:37
PLEASE HELP
The remote for the television in the
nursery is missing. This is a closed
circuit television that gives the
nursery attendant an opportunity to
watch and listen to the worship service on Sunday
mornings. If anyone has seen or knows where this
remote is please return it to the nursery. Your help is
very much appreciated.
